And that's all for now...
Thanks to you, Wassner
I've finished another batch of leaders, this time the generic Russian admirals:
And I've uploaded another version of the Leaderpack (you'll find the link in the first post of this thread, as usual), actualized with the new Russian and Prussian leaders and the Russian admirals.
I'll begin now with the leaders for the "European" cultural group, which includes all the major and minor European powers, minus Russia plus the USA. This leaders will have to do for these countries until Paradox (let's hope so) allows us to create new identities for the major European cultural groups.
Does this work with AHD? I tried it and it crashed on loading, so not sure if I did something wrong or if it is incompatible.
It's been specifically modded on the latest patch for AHD, Patch 2.31. It works perfectly fine in my laptop.![]()
European land leaders finished:
I'll begin with the sea leaders now

I've changed the mirror and uploaded a new version of the leaderpack, with the european generals included. Remember that it's only valid for AHD with 2.31 patch installed. Probably there won't be new updates untill September, as I'll be without access to the net during August.
I'm not sure if the OP hasn't been updated, but is it right that the download only includes Russian portraits?
I was hoping for some Japanese portraits?
The download includes generic land and sea leaders for the "russian" and "arab" leader groups, as well as land leaders for the "european" leader group (assigned by Paradox to all european and nort american cultural groups, except the iberian one. I cannot make generical leaders especifically for Japan, as they are assigned ny Paradox to the "asian" leader group together with China, Korea, etc. But leaders for the "asian" leader group are definitely in the "to do" list.
New version of the leaderpack uploaded. It includes sea leaders for the "european" leader group and land leaders for the "asian" leader group.
Thank you very much. Perfect. Just what I was looking for.
Hey, I'm not sure if I'm likely to get a response on a thread that's a few months old, but I might as well try. I'm playing with APD, and I decided to try this mod out and see if the two are compatible. The only thing I applied from this Leaderpack are the leader graphics, I didn't add the history or culture files since those could feasibly conflict. I've played a few months just to see if the leader portraits work, and they appear just fine, even in saved games from before I applied the new leaders!
However, my question is whether or not the specifically named leader portraits would appear when random generals are created. I haven't applied the history OOB files.

No, they won't appear because they're not named in the way that the game needs to load them as random generals. With their current names, they'll only load if you apply the OOB fils. If you want to see them in game, you have two options:
- Rename them in the same way as generic leader portraits
- Or modify APD OOB files, adding to them the leaders that you want to see in game, this way you'll avoid incompatibilities between the mod and APD.
Thanks for the reply, I must admit I wasn't expecting an answer for this for some time as my original post made clear.
It's a great mod, but I couldn't help but notice another issue which I think applies to everyone even if they're not trying to merge this mod with APD. I noticed that all the European powers were using the same portraits AKA the 'European' ones, and the specific 'French' and 'Germanic' portraits were never appearing. I assumed at first that since I hadn't edited the 'culture' file this was an easy fix, but then I checked the 'culture' file included in the mod and found all the European countries were also drawing from the 'European' generals and admirals! How exactly can I get the new portraits to appear?
EDIT: I checked the rest of the thread and it seems this problem has already been discussed. In which case, should I just delete the 'French,' 'English' and 'Germanic' leader pictures since they're essentially unusable?

I'm afraid you've found the same rock I crashed into: If you try and edit the "culture" file and say, change the culture group for French leaders from "European" to "French", you'll find that the game just does not recognize the "french" cultural group fro leaders, and in game the leaders for France do not appear. It's a bug of the game, and although I've tried to make Paradox aware of it, they've ignored it. So, those "germanic", "british" and "french" leaders just have no use in game. If you want, you can edit their names and add them to the "european" cultural group, in order for them to appear in game.
I'm in no position to speak for either Rylock or Naselus, but would you be willing to have an edited version of your mod included in PDM? This is, of course, a big 'if' since I'm unaffiliated with them, but I've run the idea past them and I'd like to see if you're okay with it. If you have any objections, just say the word and I'll drop it without issue.
