Many say that a war unites people and so did Al-Muktadi believe too but he soon realized that there were plotting against the Turks and plans to overthrow them. This was not good for the Baghdad Emirate and thus Al-Muktadi wrote to the Sultan and revealed the plotters to him.

STOP! Map time!

Anno Domini 1100

By the year 1100 the Eastern lands were controlled by the Seljuk Sultanate, while Byzantine Empire still tried to held on to their possessions in Anatolia. Maybe the arrival of the Crusaders was going to help them as the Templar Order had taken over the Holy land from the Fatimids who had been diminished to few single provinces in Egypt. But the influence of Seljuks was growing in the region and in the future the Crusaders might face their greatest enemy.

Italian peninsula had staid divided and between the Papal State, Holy Roman Empire and Sicilians. Sicilians had been the Popes favorite even from before they declared themselves as the Kings of Sicily. They had conquered vast ammounts of land in Africa and had driven the muslims away from Sicily. But the Hammadid Caliphate was still strong in Africa and they were constantly fighting over the domination of Africa. In Dalmatia Serbians and Croatians held firm alliance against the Byzantine Empire.

In the West and in Iberian Peninsula a bloody Crusade had been going on for years between the Catholics and the Moors. With the help of both Zirids and Hammadids the Moors had conquered all of Andalusia and even made their way to Occitania. Due to the loss of Occitania France had been thrown in the civil war and the Lusignans had risen in south. The Spanish had been left alone with little defense but their castles were hard to bring down and they continued the fight against the Moors.

Then there was the Isles of Albion. Divided between the English, Great Scots, Welsh and Irish. England had been in so much trouble because of their failure in the 1st Crusade that they had lost control of Wales and it had become a Kingdom.

Then in the steppes of Poland and Kiev. Divided between Kievan Russ, Hungary and Poland and Pagans. This area hadn't seen peace in ages. The Polaks had tried to conquer the coast for some time but they had failed every time. After the fall of Novogorod the Kievan Russ had lost their infuelence in the region and Muscovitz rose against them.

In Russia Moscow remains strong in the center surrounded by hostile pagans in south, east and North.

In Scandinavia the three kingdoms of Sweden, Norway and Denmark had faced an enemy so strong that their efforts to control the Baltic Sea hasn't been succesfull. The Pagan Empire of Finland has grown stronger and stronger by each year and controls all of the Baltic coasts as well as the access to the Urals in the East.

But not all was well in Baghdad as Abdallah al-Muqtadi died suddenly in September 16, 1102. His eldest son al-Mustazhir inherited the Emirate that his father had created.

al-Mustazhir quickly offered the protection of Baghdad to these rebels who were defenseless against foreign invasions.

Well I'm using BOPACK and Mappa Regnorum. Also all most of the vassals that I had vassalized have been very disloyal, they are mostly Arab as I am and I have tried to keep good relations with them.

It is more likely to collapse from the inside, then be conquered in CK :p

Holy Land?

Liberation!

In October 1103 the Baghdad forces marched from Palmyra to As Suwayda where they met the first Templar forces.

In less than six months Jordania was in Baghdad hands and Templar's asked for peace. Baghdad accepted the peace and Templar's were forced to cede much of their lands inland.
