The culture of the South is intrinsically linked with Slavery. Whether or not the South's representatives chose to represent it as such in our politics. Either one owns slaves, or one exists and lives with the only comfort of knowing they are better than the enslaved man. If we try to remove Slavery, we shall see also the outcry of those who oppose such an expanded federal government. I am of the belief this country cannot survive a rendering across the Mason-Dixon, and if the price of unity is to let the North live like the North, and the South like the South, so be it.

Vote Eldud Walsh for unity.

One must utterly reject the notion that slavery is perpetual within our nation, to claim so would be libel and slander. As my administration has proven concrete and powerful steps can be made towards the ejection of the institution from our lands without the alienation of the South. We pushed forward with carefully crafted and considered legislation dedicated to seeing the gradual reduction of slavery through means of compromise and co-operation as is possible between civilised peoples. This legislation has proven most successful. While I may stand against any who seek the instant aboltion, which would bring in its wake disaster and conflict to anyone who claims that our nation may simply stand still on this is both delusional and presents as much a danger as the radical fringe of my own and other parties. The path of history is already determined in this respect, and shall guide us towards abolition, not merely within our own borders but across the world.

The wave of liberalism, and freedom, and democracy, shall sweep the world.

Mr. Cameron, this is the position I have taken on this subject. Mine and Mr. Kerr's stance on how to best bring about the end of slavery are almost one in the same. The only difference is how to achieve it, freedom through industry or industry through freedom. I wish to continue on your programs of compromise without alienation of either party on this issue, through the bringing of new industry to the south gradualy, making the institution of slavery obsolete. As well, under my administration the military would not be weakened in the event of a war or, god forbid, a civil war.

I'd just like to inquire as to what parties there are? or if you're free to create them? please inform me asap

There are the
Democrats
Whigs
Southern Nationalist Party

BBB doesn't wany everyone just creating your own party, though once ideas such as socialism and communism start to appear you could perhaps start one.

well for now i think I'll be a Whig, but when anarchy and communism come round i'mma start me up a party
Name-Franz Welty-Welday
Description-First son of German immigrants from the Rhineland-Palatinate, family always tended to hold views seen as radical. joined the senate for Wisconsin just recently because he feels that the people of the nation, the common man are being ignored in the current situation with slavery and that regardless of the greater implications of slavery. Views on slavery are to allow it to remain contained in the south until a comprehensive plan is created to eventually phase it out.

((Keep in mind to get the go-ahead from BBB before starting a new party, I'll doubt he'll refuse but maintaining courtest is always good.))

I thank all those who have voted for me, and am glad to see we are currently level with Mr Kerr in this election. I recongise what a hard decision it must have been for the Whigs voting for me too hamper their own party's chances of victory. I hope to ensure you will not regret it.

((What time do polls close, and can you still propose bills in elections?))

To Mr Demchack: If I become president then I will introduce a bill allowing any citizen of the United States to vote, providing they are not handicapped in our peculiar institution, as it would be questionable whether they would have any real choice in the matter of voting..

You have eased my heart, Mr. Walsh. I knew I was making the right choice.

Well I normally don't pay much attention to the Royals, but the Ireland trip is hugely politically significant so I've been watching it with beady eyes. Just happened to come across that.
