Any tips for beating Germany as the CoF? I usually go mobility focus, and it's easy to annex Flanders-Wallonia but then the line is drawn and I can't breakthrough into Germany. I understand the ideas of DH combat, but I'm not even sure where to start against Germany.
I never played any of the communist nations, but Mittle Europa is best beaten by opening multiple fronts. That is how I beat them in my last KR aar.

DH is so much better than HoI3. Why would you want to waste development time porting it over?

Can someone give me a step-by-step on how to download this mod properly?
Click link, save to PC, extract into DH mods folder with your chosen file compressor, run DH launcher, select Kaiserreich for 1.2 (making sure obviously that you have patched your installation)

A little feedback on Socialist Republic of Italy: The first decisions gives plans for sciences that are already researched, would be good to make them more relevant.
Otherwise, great mod getting better

Is there already a mod file or do I have to make one. And if so, how do I get it to work?
On your C: drive you probably have Darkest Hour.
Click Darkest Hour and you should see a list of files and folders. One of the folders is called Mods.
Inside Mods, you'll see more folders, among them you will see Darkest Hour Full, and Darkest Hour Light.
You have downloaded the Kaiser mod.
Just paste the mod folder into this Mods folder, so you now have:
Darkest Hour Full, Darkest Hour Light and Kaiser...
Click on your shortcut to the game, it opens up the DH Launcher. In the mods section, bottom right, choose Kaiser... play.
