Did you rename the file avi.old? Maybe you forgot you did it?

i have for the first time played one of the scenarios. i have chosen 1942 and noticed that its impossible to break the encirclement around stalingrad. i commited 100 divs and the whole german air force to this operation but it was just impossible and i have played on normal. there are certain historical flaws, too.

scenario 1941. i dont want to be rude but there is alot to fix in both scenarios.

My apologies if I missed the answer to this (my forum search skills may be lacking).

Is there any guidance out there on how to create a button? Specifically the option to convert DDs and CLs to convoy escorts intrigues me. I'd like to see about adding a button to convert BBs to CVs and BCs to CVLs. If you actually win WWI as Germany you end up with a lot of BBs left over and sitting around. I found myself using as naval artillery mostly but I'd love to actually have them useful in the 1930s and later.

Looking through the game files I see countries like Algeria, Tajikistan, etc. available. Playing as France, USSR, etc. I don't see any way to let these countries go. And I have also never seen many of these countries appear in a game. There has to be some purpose to having them though right? For example, what would have to happen for Korea to become an independent country?

Since the short answers/questions thread seem rather dead I'll ask here as well.

Question to Martin or whoever can answer it. Is it possible change the code so that more technology panels (panels as in the air doctrines, secret weapons etc.) can be moded in, in the interface?

@InhaledCaffeine: I don't think it's possible to add a new feature without modifying the engine, so it's not possible.
@P-51: you can't release a country if you claim (or have cores on) all his territories. Remove the claim from its provinces (cores can only be removed via event) and the new releaseable countries should appear.
@Easy1: I think we considered it in the past but there were problems. I can't remember anything past that, sorry.
@selinn: I guess you're using the German language. Unfortunately there was a problem with translation in patch 1.02. You can find an hotfix for this problem at the end of the first post here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?569802-Darkest-Hour-Patch-1.02-Hot-fixes

@everyone: this thread should not be used to ask question, it has a low visibility. Please open new thread to ask questions, this thread will probably be closed.

How do I play as someone not listed on the start screen?

Anyway, you can also change the enddate in your savegame.

It seems you can't. Well, I can't, anyway. Sorry to bring this up for the millionth time, but I can change the scenario enddate (and have), but not in my savegame. If you find endate in the savegame, it will read simply as a number from 0 to 7. I think this refers to your endate setting on the options screen (0 being the default and 7 being 28 years or whatever). So, I tinkered all around with these numbers (and normal dates) trying to get a particular save to end in 1964 but it will still be 1942 if i enter 0 and the Single Player wont launch if you try to just manually type a date, whether you have brackets or not...

Thanks for any help, and awesome game here...

Look for the endate into globaldata. Like this one:
globaldata = {
startdate = {
year = 1938
month = june
day = 29
hour = 6
}
enddate = {
year = 1964
month = january
day = 0
hour = 0
}
Change that one and should work.
