How much animation will each unit have? Obviously the missiles will fire, and radars will rotate, but will we see launch doors open and such?

Will there be motion to the ocean? And what effects will weather have on combat ability?

Will the Iowa class battleships make an appearence?

Will units earn experience and preform better?

Will weapons have reload times?

How is communication with subs to be handeled since they're not always at broadcast depth?

How will multiplayer be handeled?

Will it be possible to have multiple people in charge of a handful of ships on one side?

Will players be asked to to rescue down pilots like they were in Fleet Command?

Hi,

A few quick answers.

Animation: very little.

Oceans have motion, indeed. Weather will effect sensors/visibility (precipitation, light level), aircraft (can't launch past sea level x), some weapons (same as aircraft).

Iowa: nope.

Experience: no.

Reload times: yes.

Sub comms is always on (not realistic, but more playable)

Multiplayer: 1 vs 1: LAN, internet with matchmaking. Different scenarios/victory conditions.

Coop: Not at launch; seriously considered to be added later.

Rescue: Not normally.

I understand that animation issue, because that puts a lot more time on your models, but I still wish it could be added later. Animations make me all warm and fuzzy.

Also like the aircraft not being available after certain sea states, got nostalgic thinking about Great Naval Battles when you mentioned that.

Do like the sub coms always being available. Like you said, less realistic, but more fun. It was very frustrating trying to use subs effectively being "completely" realistic in Fleet Command.

So here's a random question that popped into my head:

Will fire fighting by the crew be effected by being in combat? I recall a game doing that before, but can't recall the game.

Navy's first next-generation fighter rolled out
23 November 2011

Britain’s first next-generation combat aircraft, the cutting-edge Joint Strike Fighter, has rolled out of the factory in Texas where it’s been built.
The JSF – also known as the F35 Lightning II – will provide the blistering punch of the nation’s two future aircraft carriers on operations around the globe from the end of this decade.

YAY! :)

I was just gonna say that the Lada project seems to be coming towards its death. There have been tonnes of problems with both the sonar and AIP propulsion.
Its not even sure if the 2 Ladas being built right now are going to be finished.

On the other hand there will be many new Kilos, one was laid down 3 days ago and another one is expected to be laid down before the end of the year.

An overhauled Oscar II has passed its trials and will rejoin the navy. Another one will take its place to be overhauled. Also Improved Akula K-328 Leopard will be repaired and brought back to service. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=sv&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.navy.ru%2Fnews%2Fnavy%2F%3FELEMENT_ID%3D98465

Admiral Kuznetsov will be heading out to the highway in December (together with Admiral Chabanenko) after having completed trials.

Considering the fact that no wars are directed against us we could just have the NATO minimum.

Quite true, NATO has no overseas obligations that I know of either.

Just a couple of quotes re the democracy issue,
Democracy is the worst of governments except for all the others.
A 5 minute conversation with the average voter is sufficient to undermine confidence in the system (democracy).
