So I just tried downloading this over a clean install, but it crashes after Loading Map Sprites (I think GUI Definitions is what's causing the crash). Any fix for this?

One thing I noticed in this mod. What happened to the Thrace gap. Every game I get overun with ottomans (IDK I guess I play on hard mode or something). Used to be in vanillia I'd hold them back with a superior naval force but they have superior infantry to start with and take over greece (and alot of hungry) pretty quick. Anyways any suggestions how to fix this? (via either modding or should I just go back to vanillia)

If anyone is interested I could post my fixes up. I mean seriously the only way across the Aegean was the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles... well historically that is. Often it was done with either boat or sometimes in the case of Persians it was done with a whole bunch of boats to make a bridge. I would think a enemy navy would... make life a little hard for any ottoman crossings.
Kingdom of Jerusalem Mod for EU3 - All new missions, decisions, and events for the Knights, Cyprus, and the Kingdom of Jerusalem... Go Crusading and restore the Holy Land to it's rightful owners!
Opinions about the Bosphorus strait in EU3 is the "litmus paper" to distinguish between pro Byzanz or pro Ottomans...
If you remove the connection between the Balkan and Asia Minor, I would suggest to give some boni to the Ottomans, since some players complain that they are too weak by DW.

They already have some, if you didn't notice their infantry is wayyyyy stronger than the infantry that the Europeans get (almost up untill gunpowder!!!), in my last game they were rolling europe and had taken over most of hungry, all of Naples and oddly enough some of Poland. (thats with my modification!!!) (I was playing Venice, lost montenagro, albania and macedonia in a war that I'd rather not remember) regardless they've been buff'd enough. Anyways I wasn't talking about removing the connection, its still there just as the connection between venice and the rest of europe is, its just now only available if you own the sea area around it (just like venice) : P
I would rather see ten examples for that. Of course it is problematic that the Ottomans conquer always the half of Europe, but as my taste, they could have about 60-70 % chance to reach the danubean region as the history tells us.
I think the situation of the venezian Laguna is a bit different to the Bosphorus. It seems to me almost impossible to blockade completely the strait over 30 km long (maybe under the fire of cannons on the land), while the navy could defence the venezian islands with geographical knowledge about the Laguna.

au contraire mon frere
The Bosphorus is only 16 naudical miles, and historically the only way the sultan did conquer Constantinople was to build 2 forts so the mainstray of his troops could cross. If it was a river... I'd understand but its a strait that has been fought over and defended by Byzantines for a long long time. After it was conquered it was often used as a bargaining chip and as the gateway to the black sea.
16 naudical miles is ca. 29 km. Well, it is not over 30 km, but not so far from my estimation.
I love the heroic defences of the Byzantine empire and their story until the fall of THE city, but their days were almost over. In addition, your historical fact seems to suggest that the sultan's army could cross the strait without any effective naval supports. This fact is rahter against your opinion, isn't it? I also understand that enemy fleets in this strait can block the route between the Aegean sea and the black sea. But the way between Europe and Asia? Do you have historical facts about such a blockade (not the bloclade of the Golden Horn - it is simply municipal bay)?

You could ask General Grant if you could also include his no islam mod. I love the idea.

I was wondering why doesn't someone with modding experience pick up this mod and keep it going. Theoretically you would only have to start from updating from the last update.
Either that or someone could make a mod that uses this one's info too.
A great feature would also be a On/Off button for different mods so you can tweak at will.
