Haven´t seen that mentioned in any of the various convoy bug reports, so:
Convoy routing must be a special routine
. Special like pretty bad. After having sealed off the Med at both ends for Axis German fleets if rebased from Brest to e.g. Rangoon take the right (safest and fastest) way via the Med.
Auto assigned convoys however stupidly stick to the route around Africa, where a lone destroyer or 2 from the meagre Allies sea forces still existing sinks 1 or 2 on a regular basis???
