Where's the DD?

I have a Few Questions I am continueing a USA GC. It Jan 1942.I am a member of the Allies.

What is the Best Way to Help my Allies? How Do I set up the European Theater in Europe?
Right now When I look at the Theaters Screen, I see Allied theaters HQ's How do I suggest Objectives to them?

I've turned most every thing over to the AI.I am controlling a small fleet and expeditionary force to learn the ins and outs of combat.

I want to base Strategic Bombers in Britain? How do I do it?

Just a quick question, why is when playing as Great Britain that beyond Poland and Republican Spain I can't seem to get anyone to join the Allies (even if they have the right neutrality-threat ratio and are close enough to the Allies on the diplomacy triangle) until they are actually attacked by Germany/Italy/Japan?

Playing 3.06 I noticed that all my leaders as Australia start with -100 exp and sometimes -200 exp. Is there a specific reason why all my generals start with negative exp? Why do some start with more negative exp than others?

As a small minor like Hungary, is Artillery worth it? And should I go for 2xinf+1xart? or 3xinf+1xart?

It is, as it allows you to stretch your army beyond what your manpower allows you to build.

Certain countries need to have a couple preconditions filled before they join an alliance. For example Nat Spain needs gibraltar to be axis controlled before joining axis. I'm sure that other countries need something like that to join the allies.

Yes, there must also be preconditions for Finland joining Germany because sometimes they would not join event if they have a national socialist government and are in axis corner of the diplomatic screen.

This is kinda an off-the-wall question: the calendar for the game, especially when on weekly autosave, does it match up with the actual 1936-1948 calendar? So, if I wanted to do weekly checks on certain things for an AAR, I could calculate it out via the first two saves? I ask because the first weekly autosave doesn't happen 7JAN36.

EDIT:
Another question I just thought of. The National Manpower modifier. If you're Germany, are you cutting your legs out from under yourself if you do the "Volunteer Army" bit vice going to 3-year Draft? I'd assume that the gain in manpower would be beneficial for USSR or against the USA.

It's a substantial trade-off.

If you run volunteer army, reserves are way cheaper in IC cost and they generate far less threat. You also get to partially mobilize those cheap reserves to 75% strength when you switch back to Three-Year Draft without having to mobilize.

But....

Every month spent at Volunteer Army generates way less manpower. If you do it for too long, it really makes a difference in terms of manpower. And one of Germany's few advantages over the Allies is that it can get to and keep Three-Year Draft earlier than the Allies. Furthermore, the leadership-officer conversion ratio is absolute garbage at Volunteer Army. All those reserve divisions still need their officers, and you can't sit at Volunteer Army and hope to get officers for them without way over paying the leadership cost.

When I ran my Kinder Gentler Germany, I stayed at Three Year Draft while I built planes and ships, then switched to Volunteer Army to build reserves, and then switched back to Three Year Draft a year before the war started so I could get some officers and get my reserves up to strength.

You have to decide what is more important to you when choosing laws.

This has probably been asked several times in the past years, but for the life of me (and UK), I just can't see how to launch the "Control of Greenland and Iceland" events. Because they always are free Danish-controlled, I can't occupy my alliy's lands, and they never end up being owned by the US. Do I need Germany to annex Denmark - which doens't seem to occur often? Is it Denmark who gives the provinces to me, following some unknown requirements?

With UK as well, I suppose puppeting Portugal doesn't work to get the Mozambique Straits bonus, since I not only need to have Madagascar and Mozambique in the Allies, but actually need to control one province - and Madagascar usually ends up being Free France, not Vichy France. So, just like the Turkish Straits one, it's either annexion or I hope they join the Axis and beat them up...

Is it possible to somehow prevent creation of communist Poland? I play '41 scenario as SU and liberated Warszaw which after a while leads to recreation of puppet Poland. As I understand it, it is not an event but rather some prescripted thing? (if this is not possible, can I somehow cheat and annex my ally? I want all this land for myself!)

Does anyone know if 3.06 is going to be released eventually, or if we'll just need to buy TFH (4.0 I think?) to see bugs in 3.06b fixed?

3.06 is going to release, its just the team went on vacation, and the scripts and diplomacy in the beta patch got mucked up by some other fixes (hence why you have a beta).

the teams back and i'm fairly sure from comments some of the ideas about balancing the inhernet game are being ported down from TFH.

ALSO 3.06 is going to be the final patch for FTM unless there is some massive incident

Surrounded, supplied from any/all?

example:

Nat. Spanish divisions cut off from supply(but not out of) in southern Spain somehow manage to continue attacking in order to link up with a supply source.

question:

Why can't my Rep. Spanish divisions in northern Spain do the same. Or my BEF in occupied France, or my US Rangers in northern Burma....etc. The OOS modifier is all well an good, but why in the world can I not attack in an attempt to break out when I'm sitting on 30+ days of supply and fuel?

Can't attack due to lack of supply. Just what, may I ask, is lacking about 30+ days of supply?

FtM 3.05

Hmm, good question, I haven't seen that happen. I've always been able to attack when supplied.

so whats the reason I cant invite my Norwich brothers to the glorious Commintern?

Cities cannot be invited to factions, only countries!

More to the point, I'm pretty sure you can invite them despite the seemingly hopeless assessment by...well, whom? IME, it takes a couple of tries; I've had this happen with POR and TUR before.

An army group commander reduces supply consumption by 5% per skill level ... an Army Group leader by 3.125

???

I spend hours preparing a game before removing the pause from 01/01/1936: remove all leaders and reassign them, rebuilt some divisions, re-assign them, prepare my research path, politics, spies and spying actions, etc...
And when I say hours, it took me 7+ hours in my last game for trying to tune everything the way I exactly like...

I would like to create my starting game as a template, and save it for future new games (with same country, difficulty, victory goals, and game version of course). However, I want the game to be really with different paths and behavior (from AI).

First of all, that level of preparation is more than excessive and hard to imagine. You can swap leaders all through '36 for example with no negative effect, and how does changing politics, research and spies take more than a minute?

Secondly, saving after all those hours and using it as a template will have the same effect as not using a template.

I conquered Latvia with Estonia, but i dont know why i cant use their IC. Can somebody explain me this?

It's too little to matter.

As Germany, my supply lines are broken on the Eastern Front. After capturing Moscow and Leningrad, I'm slowly being pushed back and alot of my units are not in supply. How can I fix or manage it?
