So as it is time for me to embark on the great odyssey that is my very first AAR it feels only natural that it's with the country I'm born in. If you're looking for more reasons than that I would have to say that there are quite few Swedish AAR's that have been either:
a) successful
b) followed through to a fitting end
c) funny

So what are my ideas for this AAR? It's going to be fun! Successful! (hopefully) and with pretty semi-historical borders :)
I will be open to suggestions on what to do at certain sticky situations as I usually lulzplay on very easy :)

The settings for this AAR will be these

I'd like to also give a hand out to Svip and Lordreaven448 and their awesome AAR's that have influenced me both in how I will write this and in inspiring me to actually do it!

Oh and I've seen that all cool cats has one of these...

Chapter 1: In the beginning there was only... crap?

"The kingdom is in shambles!" The young nobleman shouted as he was studying the map of Scandinavia.

And indeed it was, the standing Swedish army numbered a measly 3000 men with direct enemies at the eastern borders and treacherous "allies" to the west and south.
The economy was in a horrible shape, with big economy deficits due to colonies in the northern part and the fact that half of what little income that was brought in was given away to the danish... THE DANISH! No this would not do, there needed to be change, and soon!

Just the thought of those simpletons was enough to give the young man a headache. "just what I needed, a headache when I'm about to stand still for hours while some twit with a brush ogles me..." he thought to himself as he left the room and made his way to the local Painter.

The rest of the day went in a more positive tone, the painter proved to be worthy of his renown and the young man was quite pleased as he had his servant carry the piece home and hang it on the diningroom wall.

Chapter 2: The Road to Liberation!

0304_Blackadder.jpg

King Eric VII Gryf was bored, he had been sitting in his throne listening to the complaints and demands of nobles and emissaries for what seemed like hours but was in reality only ten minutes. As he sat there and pretended to listen to their pleads he daydreamed about lady Marianne that he had danced with at the ball the other night, that majestic bosom was surely the lords finest work he thought to himself as he decided that he had spent enough time listening to plain men and ordered his guards to escort the rabble out of there.

He then focused his attention to the managment of his kingdom, his two subject nations, Norway and Sweden had proven a great asset, not only did they fill his coffers with half their income directly, he also made them take the biggest investment hits, like the genius move he had just orchestrated, making Sweden colonize the lapps was not only extending his influence further north, it would also effectively cripple their economy and guarantee that they would not become powerfull enough to question his rule. "Smashing I say!" He shouted with a childish expression on his face.

He then proceeded to lower the maintenance on both the swedish army and navy, "Less money for them means more money for me" he stated to his advisors who nodded cautiously

As for the financial situation Eric decided that all investures should go towards improving the stability of the country and once that is done focus will be directed towards research into government

And as a the last order of the day he ordered his advisors to improve the centralization of Sweden, as this should also serve to improve his income. This however had an unfortunate reaction among the swedish nobles, as he found out when his advisors returned with a panicked expression and shouted "My lord a..."

All around the Swedish realm posters were hanged, urging the people to raise the flag of freedom!

*************

I wasn't planning to drop the union so quickly but the rebellion is quite strong, 6000 men and they spawned in Stockholm no less! I will leave the choise up to you, should I let the pretender win or should I stay in the union? Explanatory votes get 2 points and humorous ones get 3 :) The vote will end tomorrow at 12:00 (CET+1)

Voting statistics:
Let the pretender rise!: 7
Stay in the union: 0
Borsha borsha borsha: 4

*edited to add the economy overview as demanded :)

Let them loot Stockholm! I'm sure something fun will happen :D

Chapter 3: Here is your revolution!

The votes have been counted and we have a clear winner! why, not even the danish seemed to want Sweden to stay in the union :) We did get some odd voters as well, so on second place we got "Borsha borsha borsha", Swedish chef was delighted when he heard the news and I tried asking him what it meant... it didn't really work out so I'll just assume it means spanking king Eric's bottom.

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, here is your revolution!

lostbattle.jpg

With their funding at a minimum, king Eric's armies stood little chanse against the armies of Swedish Chef and were forced to flee, yes, Jakob Banér is of course one of Swedish chef's many clever pseudonyms.

mission2.jpg

Meanwhile in fantasy land, king Eric, heard news of the successfull colonization of lappland and deemed it worthy to grant Sweden another quest, which was ignored.

fun1.jpg

Back in the real world the state of the union was dire indeed, two Swedish regions had now fallen and no efforts were done to reinforce the swedish armies and it was only a matter of time before the revolt was a success!
