Chapter Four: Brink of Civil war and the Murder of Minister Zhu September 1869-December 1869

All began on the faithful day 2th of September 1869, when Emperor Wuchan died without an heir. This caused one big problem, what would happen now? Finally the Parliament decided that the Liberal party that was de faco rulers, would keep their governorship over china, until the parliament had decided what would happen next.
The man that opposed this decision most was the leader of the Nationalist, further regarded as ‘’Minister Zhu.’’ After all, the liberals held more than 50% of the parliament and were therefore they would be the party to win temporary rule over China, against the proposal that a committee of the leader from all parties would rule together.

The liberals, were backed up by the conservatives and the anarcho-liberals. Together the three parties held more than 70% of the parliament and they formed the Tri-alliance of Parliament.

Opposed to them were the socialist, who wished for free elections to be held immediately and a special committee to be established from independent persons to overlook the election. Totally they held about 7% of the parliament.

And as stated before, the Nationalist wanted a combined Committee to rule china during the vacant of a true leader. Totally the Nationalist held 23% of the parliament.

    Political Ideologies of China

The yellow areas with stripes, the Tri-alliance held more than 70% of the sympathies, and areas without they held 50%

The red areas with stripes the Socialist held more than 60% of the sympathies and the areas without them held more than 55%

The blue areas with stripes, the nationalist held more than 80% of the sympathies and those without, they held 45% of the sympathies.

With the majority of the population behind them, the Tri-alliance held the mandate over china until 13th October when the socialist staged a coup d’état, in order to democratize china and take control over the government till so could be done. The socialist coup failed and China was purged from socialist, everyone who held sympathies for them where executed, and soon after the leaders of the Socialist were executed, the day after the attempt, almost all sympathies for them vanished, and those who did went underground, although, more than 2million people are estimated to have been ‘’purged’’ the following weeks after the coup.

Minister Zhu now found himself as the soul opposition against the Tri-alliance and he decided to leave Beijing and establish his head quarters in Guangzhou in the south. The Tri-alliance began revoking political reforms and soon, a half dictatorship was established with the Liberals at the head. 21 October, the liberals bean a new purge, now they eradicated the Anarcho-liberals from the Tri-alliance, and on the 24th the remainder of the Anarcho-liberals was in cooperated into the Liberals.

Zhu had begun by this time to recruit a Nationalist army at this headquarter in Guangzhou, preparing to take over Beijing with force. Luckily, on the 3rd November, the liberals went through an internal purge and the old regime where dismissed and a democracy minded leading took charge over the liberals, and the conservatives took the party of the new regime.

Zhu still continued to raise an army and on the 21 November, he marched 25,000 nationalist troops to Xian, but when he arrived, the leader of the conservatives and the Liberals, where there waiting for him. They offered to hold peace meetings instead of meaningless bloodshed. Zhu decided to agree with the liberals and entered the city without his army.

Zhu wouldn’t live long after he entered Xian. On 5th December, while the negotiation was still underway, Zhu was murdered in his apartment and the murderers who was never identified, framed a random person they found on the streets, that person happened to be Dayang, friend of Zhan, the man to change the faith of China forever.

Right, I think I'll point out a mistake that you tend to do a lot (or is it intentional?).

You have a tendency of using the combination "didn't not" which equals to "did", I'm assuming you meant "did not".
Didn't is a contraction of the words "did" and "not".
Just wanted to point that out since it can and does get confusing sometimes, and I haven't never heard of no nonsensical negative negatives. (yeah, multiple negatives can cause a slight headache sometimes)

Overall, it's an intriguing story thus far.
Will the commies succeed in their plan for world domination? MOAHAHAHAHA!

    Chapter Five: Blood and Bullets

Hans Rossbach stood at the front of the ship as it closed in on the harbor of Canton. The sun was about the set and its orange glow made the sky blood red. Hans enjoyed the color, as he liked red, it was his favorite color.

He had along with some twenty Europeans fled Europe when France, UK, Netherlands, Ottoman Empire clashed with Prussia, Austria, newly former Bulgaria and Bavaria. After the French had invaded his home town, he traveled north to Kiel and took the ship to China.

The ship got closer to the port as the sun went down below the horizon. The ship docked in the pier furthest away from the city and when the Europeans left the ship, they were met with an atmosphere different from home, they didn’t know what it was, but it would soon show itself.

The ship they went to china with was actually an Ironclad, due to the war the broke out in Europe.

Some hours before in Kunming, Dayang woke up. Before Zhan and Leng, it was a really loud noise coming from outside. Dayang rushed outside to see what was going on. When he got outside the Golden clam, he saw that a mass of people was walking down the main street, he rushed to it and grabbed hold of a Chinese middle-aged man.

‘’What is going on?’’ Dayang asked.

‘’We are marching to the mayors residence, we are going to demand that they let us vote on what will happen with our land.’’ The man replied.

‘’Vote? I thought everybody was allowed to vote.’’ Dayang said confused.

‘’It was like that when the Emperor ruled, but now with the Liberals holding all the power, only the Manchu people may vote, as the Liberals along the Conservative is Pro-Manchu rule.’’ The man explained.

‘’This can’t be! I am going with you!’’ Dayang exclaimed. The man nodded and pointed in the direction they were heading. Dayang pushed himself to the front rows of the mass and yelled together with the other Chinese people. When they got closer to the Mayors residence, they discovered that soldiers from the Imperial Army had assembled outside along with some canons and the new gattling guns, directly imported from USA.

‘’Step aside! We are here for the good of all Chinese people in Yunnan!’’ someone from the crowd roared at the soldiers, which didn’t move an inch. ‘’We will use force if necessary!’’ Another one exclaimed.

Suddenly the doors to the balcony above the entrance opened and the Mayor stepped outside.

‘’Dear friends, I can’t decide who shall be allowed to vote, it’s up to the regime in Beijing to decide that.’’ He said with an evil smile. ‘’Now disperse or some people may die!’’

The crowd roared and began marching towards the entrance, not feeling any fear. The mayor said something to the officer standing next to him and the officer roared something to his soldiers, which lifted their rifles and aimed at the crowd, which was still marching towards the residence.

The officer roared again, and without hesitation the soldiers opened fire. The rifles smattered and the gattling guns roared as the crowd got plowed down. The mass turned around in an instant and began to run for their life, but the soldiers didn’t stop shooting, but continued even if the mass fled further away.

Dayang was laid on the ground In front of the residence with a bullet wound through his leg. He couldn’t move as the blood poured out of his body and he felt weaker and weaker. Suddenly a soldier appeared above him. Dayang coughed blood and the soldier pointed his rifle at Dayang’s head and pulled the trigger…

the rifle version and the gattling gun the soldiers were equipped with.

China is too big to have a functional democracy. Small ruling class, like CCP or Manchus function better.

guess whats going to happen :3

i just played that, the government will give it a try, but fail and the populaton will go nuts and small factions will form just as it should be , if you really read through the lines, you can see that it is already happening.

Chapter Six: The first steps to become a Revolutionary.

The following chapter might contain some faults and the reader should take into consideration that I am not an expert on communism and therefore will probably be faults in the following text. My deepest apologies if there is anything wrong.

Zhan sat up in his bed. Dayang was dead, killed by the soldiers of the local mayor. Not one of the people who were plowed down by the rifles and the gattling gun where left alive, if they even survived the barrage in the first place. All had changed, no people were out in the streets, and all shops were closed. After the mayor had crushed the crowd, he had announced that he broke from the government in Beijing and created his own state, the people in Kunming were now his subjects, and it was real this time, not fake as when he had to obey the government.

The whole afternoon, soldiers had patrolled the streets, breaking in and capturing anyone who was a suspect of opposing the mayor. Some were locked into the dungeons of the jail, some were executed and some were just tortured.

‘’I can’t just let this pass, he was my friend.’’ Zhan said to Leng.

‘’He was my friend to Zhan, but there is nothing we can do to bring him back.’’ Leng said. ‘’We just have to live with it.’’

‘’I got to clean my head, I’ll go down to get a drink.’’ Zhan said and left the room. He walked down the stairs and found that the innkeeper had already put forth a glass of rice wine.

‘’I thought you might want some, since your friend died after all.’’ The innkeeper said while Zhan sat down at the bar desk.

‘’I want revenge, I can’t live with it like this.’’ Zhan replied.

‘’You don’t have to, to night, here at the golden clam, we are going to hold a meeting. We will decide what to do.’’ The innkeeper whispered while cleaning a glass.

    ‘’Meeting?’’ Zhan asked.

‘’Yes, many people in this town hates the ‘’mayor’’, I think they will decide to get rid of him.’’ The innkeeper whispered.

Zhan nodded and drank his wine, played the innkeeper and went upstairs to find Leng sleeping. He took of his jacket and went to sleep to, and he slept.

    Modern Golden clam.

Someone knocked on the door, multiple times, until Zhan managed to get up from his bed and open the door. The night had engulfed the city completely and Zhan did only the shape of another man when he opened the door.

‘’The meeting is assembled, I thought you wanted to join.’’ the man said.

‘’Oh, right, the meeting, I’m coming.’’ Zhan said and put on his jacket before he left the room after the man. They walked down the stairs and Zhan noticed that the room was packed with people. The innkeeper dragged forth a chair for Zhan to sit, which he gladly did as he was still half sleeping. The innkeeper stepped up on the bar desk and coughed to get everyone to be silent.

‘’You all know why we gathered here today.’’ The innkeeper began. ‘’We need to do something about the so called mayor.’’

One of the men rose up and everyone looked at him. ‘’I heard he proclaimed himself the ruler of Kunming, earlier today. Someone told me he has begun to recruit men from the surrounding area.’’ The man said.

‘’Hear that! Soon we won’t have a chance of bringing him down. We need to act now!’’ the innkeeper yelled and everyone in the room roared to show that they thought the same.

Another man stood up to get the others attention. ‘’I say, everyone go home now and arm yourself with any possible weapon you can find, in twenty minutes we march against his residence!’’ the man yelled. The men in the room rose up from their chairs and began to leave the golden clam to go home and arm themselves. Zhan walked up to the innkeeper.

‘’Shall I help? I don’t have a weapon but I’m sure I can do something.’’ Zhan said to the innkeeper.

‘’Follow me, I got an extra rifle for you. The soldiers aren’t the only ones with weapons from America. ‘’ the innkeeper replied and disappeared. A few minutes later he came back with a big box.

‘’In here is two rifles, model 1870 with ammunition. I figured they might be helpful when the first of them arrived here.’’ The innkeeper said and opened the box, gave one rifle to Zhan and took the other. He gave Zhan one ammunition belt to tie around his waist. He closed to box and both of them left the golden clam to enter the coup, leaving Leng sleeping upstairs, alone.

Twenty minutes later, the men marched against the residence with the innkeeper, whose name was Li Chun and Zhan in the first line. The men were armed with everything from pitchforks and daggers, to revolvers and rifles.
Two soldiers were on guard duty at the residence, overlooking the main road to the residence from the balcony.

‘’Damn it’s a cold night.’’ One of them said.

‘’I have been through worse.’’ The other replied. ‘’what do you think, the people of this city thinks of us now that we have killed some of them?’’

‘’They must hate us for that.’’ the first said. ‘’Be on your guar…’’.

In the same moment as he uttered those words, a bullet clashed into the wall next to him. He looked down the main road and the mob that was matching towards the residence. One of the soldiers ran into the house to sound the alarm while the other armed his rifle, leaned against the handrail and fired his rifle against the mob, killing one of them.

Zhan heard the shot, and saw one of the men fall straight down. The whole mob stopped for a while, then out of rage, they went into a frenzy and ran towards the residence. As they ran, more soldiers entered the balcony and manned the windows, they begun to fire and more men died. Zhan stopped, aimed his rifle, and shot one of the guards.

Men from the mob died as the soldiers continued to shot at them, but the men armed with rifles and pistols killed some guards as well. The guards weren’t able to stop the mob and when they reached the front door, they smashed it to piece and overran the residence. Zhan and Li rushed up the stairs and entered the mayor’s chamber to find him sleeping.

The road to the mayors residence, with the residence in the background.

Li dragged up the mayor from his bed and threw him on the floor. When he opened his eyes, he saw Li and Zhan pointing their rifles at his face.

    ‘’Get up!’’ Li yelled.

‘’How dare you! I’ll have you hang for this!’’ the mayor roared. ‘’Guards!’’

‘’They won’t help you, by now, they all are dead.’’ Li replied. Suddenly one of the rebels rushed through the door.

‘’We’ve failed! There were more guards than we expected!’’ the man yelled. ‘’We got to run for it!’’

‘’Blast!’’ Li screamed and turned towards Zhan. ‘’Get out of here, get your friend and flee, take my money, they are beneath your bed, there is an opening in the floor, it should be enough to get you all the way to northern Manchuria.’’

‘’How can I thank you?’’ Zhan asked.

‘’Get out of here and live! Remember us and give a future for china, by now, the whole country should be revolting, unite them!’’ Li said.

Zhan nodded and leaped out through the window and out into the night. Li returned his attention to the mayor.

‘’It is time you meet your creator.’’ He said and pulled the trigger and killed the mayor.
Li heard a sound and saw the other rebel with a sword through his stomach. Li reloaded his rifle as the first guard entered the room charging towards him. Li shot the man, killing him in an instant, but didn’t have time to reload before he was overpowered by more guards and finally butchered on the floor beside the mayor.

Li the innkeeper, shortly before he died.
