Yes, im first here too. I like to be first, anyway this sounds VERY interesting to me.
A naval RTS? RTS like Paradox RTS or RTS like.... C&C RTS? I actually hope it's more like and C&C rts since I was very fond of them when they came out and lately there hasn't been a good rts like that. (My opinion)
Anyway, what do you think?

Neither, it'll be more like the naval battles of Empire or Napoleon, though there will be planes in there too.RTS like Paradox RTS or RTS like.... C&C RTS?
The only actual announcement here is that Paradox is publishing it, I've known about this game from 2 years past, after one of our teachers mentioned there was a game studio in the town I'm studying in (Bergen).
Fun fact: the CEO of Turbo Tape Games moved into the apartment I lived in last year, right after I moved out.

Our team had lunch with them on Tuesday and saw some of the game today. The models look very nice and the details they talked about related to unit detection sounded like some good game mechanics. We wish them lots of success!
It's going to have to be good to be better than Harpoon. Let's hope.

I'm still playing Jane's Fleet Command ( I prefer FC to Dangerouse Waters ). Hopefully, Arctic Circle game will make naval style battles more impressive under new cool 3d engine .. but honestly, I'm playing Fleet Command because it's 1-simple, 2-realistic, -3-fun! I wish Naval War Arctic Circle game be as great as Fleet Command!
P.S. I've noticed that mostly North countries produce best strategy games - Scandinavia(+Finland), Canada, Russia ... who else can make better North Arctic War RTS if not one of those? lol

There is a lot to be said about controlling aircraft on carriers, and on land airports as well for that matter.
We'll have to leave a bit for later, of course, but I will reveal that of major importance will be out-fitting of individual aircraft, a process that comes with a time penalty.
The interface is being worked on, but it will be possible to launch aircraft one by one as well as in groups. Group launches will automatically organize themselves in a sensible manner, and formations may be altered at any time later...
Well, to me it looks a little bit like Jane's Fleet Command (Sonalysts).
If it is similar, i will buy Naval War for sure!!!
However, i'm a little bit sceptic about the Scenario. I mean 2030?? Wouldn't it be better to place it into present days? They offer more then enough planes, ships and real/potential/fictional conflicts to simulate. But anyhow, that's just one little thing and not that important.

If you are worried about the realism, don't be. It takes decades to make a modern fleet core anyhow, so it will basically be about what we know today.
The 2030 setting is in fact a decision based on the need (or perhaps desire?) to play around with world history a bit... We hope you'll like it, and that you will pardon us hard working developers for jumping on the chance for a bit of fun

And the 2030 setting isn't bad at all. Only 20 years in the future. Quite little military stuff will have changed by then.
