Also I am just starting to get into modding but any ideas how to get this to work with AHD 2.3 without crashing?
Sure you can use it. I'll clear out some space in my inbox, so the next time someone PM's me it actually gets through. Don't know how to get to work in AHD, you'll have to get that to work on your own.

Dunno if this is the place, but I would be interested to hear more about the Brazilian rebellions from nigo. From what I understand, a good number of Brazil's provinces tried to revolt in the last decades of the monarchy and beginning of the First Republic. Bahia, Pernambuco, and Grao-Para. The wiki articles are just a bit hard to understand what took place. Seems like most of the states should start with their own cores, with a few like Rio Grande du Sul and Grao-Para to actually be independent at game start in 1836? Then perhaps, adding a decision to create the Republic, wiping out the state cores?

And giving a quick look, the state composition of Brazil doesn't seem to make much sense for either 1836 or 2012. Belem is the capital of Para, and it's not even IN Para in the vanilla setup.
States are not always as accurate as they could be in V2. State capitals are assigned randomly to states so that's why some capitals don't match.

I'm pretty sure that the first province that appears in X_Region = { } brackets is always the state capital. I checked it in-game and that seems to be the case.

What I meant was that the Para region didn't even include the province named after its capital. Belem was part of Maranhao, despite being Para's capital. I spent most of last night fixing up the Brazil map based on the 1832 and 1889 provinces. Wound up giving Brazil an extra region, but hopefully balanced by making Grao-Para independent at game start and adding cores to potential breakaways Bahia, Maranhao, Pernambuco and Santa Catarina.

All I need now is a good decision to form the first Republic, and potentially wipe out the extra cores. Nothing irks me more than errant cores. "Why are you Prussians revolting for independence? You OWN Germany!"

Well wiping out cores does prevent other countries from breaking up a country. If you remove the Prussian cores Russian or France for example wouldn't be able to weaken Germany by releasing Prussia, etc.

Very true. It's just that after a while, I expect the nationalism of certain places to be for the whole, rather than the parts. I find it odd for a Germany united by Prussia to be able to be split back into Prussia. It's a slightly different thing for Austria to have Hungary removed.
