now with every single pawn on the move the queen can own them all (evil)

@guy_montag - thanks! :D

@Sumeragi - of course. Siberia, just like when I was fighting the Mongols, going to be rough.

@mayorqw - thanks for reading the AAR

@Aliasing, @Deus Eversor - Maybe. But personally, I don't think so. Even if this is the final war against the Bourgeois, it's going to be a very long one.

Update will be posted later or tomorrow.

“How many fronts do we have to fight now?”
-People's Commissar Mikhail Tukhachevsky

------------------------------------------------

A Minor Setback

“The Japanese government was toppled by a military. The coup started 5 hours ago and according to the press statement by the military government, they are pro-Germany.” he saw the whole SOVNARKOM in shock.

Ever since 1926, the country was living in a democratic and multi-party governance where the suffrage is universal but the country barely survived the depression and the export figures still not rising up. An election was held back in 1937, where the most popular cry in Japan was pacifism and isolationism. “No more expansion!”, “Japan is our world!” the public said. The Liberal Party answered the call and forwarded it in their platform. The Liberals easily won the election and Nosaka Sanzo became the prime minister. The country enjoyed 3 years of recovery and without any more burden of expensive imperial expansions but during those times a radical faction was breeding inside the military. The faction was headed by Ugaki Kazushige, not pleased about the direction of the country since the downfall of the previous junta, back in April 1926.

Japan. 1937.

For the past 14 years, the faction was growing steadily and with the Kaiser rallying nations under his banner, Kazushige took the opportunity. Germany instantly welcomed them and covertly supported the coup d'etat. The coup was a success and a military junta was established, however, it was quite unpopular for obvious reasons. Dissent skyrocketed as the military topple a democratically elected government. The new government now present Japan's new radical policies. The pacifistic foreign policy was scrapped and made an extreme jump onto the other side as Japan joined the Grand Coalition and declared war to the Socialist Front. The economy was shifted to the military with many industries nationalised and war materials rolling out of the lines. The military promised that this is just a transitional government and soon, elections will be held. The promise looks very unlikely to happen.

Boroshilov quickly reminded everyone “That means... our Siberian border..”

“Totally exposed. Yes.” People's Commissar Tukhachevsky ended his sentence “We have no choice but to divert some our forces back there. With less men in the Western Theatre, I'm afraid this will slow down the advance into Germany.”

Everyone in the room remembers the argument on whether the Japanese would attack or not if the Russians pulled out of Siberia to bolster the daring drive into Berlin. To be fair, this coup was unexpected.

The next day. More bad news entered the Kremlin. Persia have joined the coalition by striking a bargain with Germany that the Arabian and Turkish lands would be theirs except for the lost German colonies and the Suez Canal, all of those would be handed back to Germany. Germany would also recognize Persian domination on Afghanistan. She only stopped the Persian on the Indian lands since Delhi is a member of the coalition. With all this huge claims on their hands, Tehran's goal is clear. The revival of the Persian Empire of the Antiquity.

Reports were received from GRU operatives in Qing discovering that the emperor gladly accepted the German offer. According to their agents inside the Forbidden Palace, the bribe was to lift the economical sanctions imposed by Germany two years ago when Qing annexed the AlgOstAsien GmbH. Soviet Russia now has to face two Oriental giants. The Siberian front now lies totally exposed.

Although, there are some good news. The Netherlands, South Africa, Ethiopia, and the so-called “The Pure Kingdom Upon the Heavens” have declined the offer of the coalition. It didn't lift any spirits since these countries are too minor to pose a threat to the Bolsheviks.

Thanks for the comments and subscribes!

@Sumeragi - yup. China + Japan is a nightmare.

Update is finished, I'll just edit the pics. Just a little tidbit, I already seen the first casualty of the Workers and Peasants' Socialist Liberation Front. I wonder if this would affect the Russian war effort.

“A few square kilometres of Germany is worth more than a huge strips of Siberia.”
- Chairman Nikolai Bukharin

------------------------------------------------

Shaposhnikov Offensive

With the news of the new Grand Coalition, it was the Federation of Central African Socialist Republics who made the first exploit on the new participants in the war. The Centroafrican armies are now rushing into the mildly defended Portuguese colonies of Angola and Mozambique to liberate the lands from their overlords.

While the Russians, on the contrary, were the ones being exploited with the Japanese, the Qing and the Persians marching into Soviet lands uncontested.

------------------

20th of June 1940, Western Theatre HQ, Warsaw.

“Both Operation Compass [the advance to the Vistula river] and Timoshenko Offensive [capture of Lvov] are complete. We need a new plan with the 'German weakness' pretty much gone. The resistance beyond the Vistula is getting stronger. The target of getting into Berlin by this month is now unrealistic.” Field Marshall Voroshilov looked nervously over the staff. He then thought to himself The transfer of 12 divisions to Siberia and 9 more to Persia would weaken our Western Theatre. We also left Libya and Egypt and rush to the Arab-Persian border, leaving the Arabs to fend for themselves across their massive stretch of land and coastlines vulnerable to attack.

He then looked at the massive Austria-Hungary on the map.

“What about the Austria-Hungarians? What if they attack our weak south-eastern flank? Our victories are spectacular from the start but the thought of us beating the Mitteleuropa alliance alone is very misleading.”

southeasternfront.png

But truth is, Austria-Hungary was more disorganised than they thought. It may have the same monarch and the same foreign policy but the new dual monarchy have separate military. One for Austria and Hungary for the other. The Hungarians are most uncooperative on attacking, mainly focuses on defence and it shows. Since the start of the war, Hungary never made any attacks on Soviet land.

balkan1940.png

Will the Hugarian's attitude remains the same?

“Comrade? Comrade!”

Voroshilov woke into reality.

“Comrade Timoshenko suggest that we should capture Cracow.” The general tapped his two fingers on the map, precisely where the city is located. “It's just beyond our grasp and the capture of the capital would end the Kingdom of Galicia-Lodomieria. Another reactionary state toppled by the workers' army!”

“That sounds good but you should remember what the comrade chairman ordered.” the Field Marshall of Soviet Russia remembers Bukharin's face and his words during that meeting “Berlin goes first!”

The staff meeting went on until it give conception to the Shaposhnikov Offensive. The plan was to recapture Danzig, pierce through Kustrin and close the pocket by advancing to Stralsund. Another secondary advance to Oppeln is also planned to encircle the German forces on the centre.
The offensive was finally formulated. Also the attack to Cracow was given the green light. An advance to the Oder River is the final on the capture of Berlin itself. The heart of the Reactionary-Capitalist evil.

The named after the commander who would then lead the offensive.

The attack on Cracow start in the 25th of June, just before midnight, with an opening massive artillery barrage from the Red Army before the tanks and infantry rolls in. The capital was defended by 2 infantry divisions, a cavalry division and an HQ. The city was lightly defended but these were just the initial defenders. Reinforcements came to defend the city and delay the inevitable Soviet advance to Cracow.

In Arabia, the march to Baghdad was stopped by Russian reinforcements and started their counter-attack to Bakhtaran. More reinforcements are on their way to stop the Persian imperialists.

The NKPT (Technology) and NKTP (Trade and Industry) both reported a significant improvement on production thanks to an new system on production planning.

soviettech1940jun2.png

The push to Kustrin began in the 30th of June 1940. One cavalry division, 2 tank divisions and 6 infantry divisions went up against six infantry divisions. The offensive was daring but the reward was fruitful. If this offensive is to succeed, the Red Army will be on the gates of Berlin. The Shaposhnikov Offensive has began.

On the other fronts, the French army seem to have broken into the German lands. This slighty alarmed the SOVNARKOM.
