@talt - the situation in Spain and America is so boring it didn't deserve a place in the last update. :p Also, I can only put limited number of pictures in each update as the forum rules dictates. About your question if USA would revert back to democracy, even I don't know the answer.

@Dues Eversor - Mammoth tank! How damn awesome is that!? Anyway, I was thinking about the Ukrainians giving up but I noticed that the relations were negative.

Heads up! Update coming up after I'm done with my dinner and editing the pics.

Playing as Russia in KR is interesting. Always been one of my favorites because of all the possibilities, but particulalrily the extremes- return to the Tsardom, military dictatorship, the Soviets, etc and the different ways they can assume power (as you did with the revolution). Will be watching this.

@Dues Eversor - huh? Nope.

@MercZ - thanks for following this AAR :D

“Where is that boy? Can you call Sigismund already? He is missing this brilliant performance”

The Death of a Family and an Old Tradition

After the Qing emperor's expansion into the German General East Asian Company lands, the question on what to do next went upon them. One of his ministers suggest that they should return the lands in control of the Yunnan warlord back to imperial hands. The suggestion was later trashed as they instead focused on reclaiming the rich city of Macao. The Portuguese with no power to fight Qing, they surrendered the colony. Now that the AOG is completely privatized. It made the Germans sit with the Chinese again to agree with a new trading agreement with the emperor. The emperor was boastfully defiant against the leading great power. Germany push econimical sanctions to the Qing Empire and are now suffering the consequences. But with the damaging sanctions, a rising China was still a possible nightmare not just for Germany but for Russia too.

1st of January 1937. Minsk.

It was a new year for White Ruthenia. The whole country was hoping that the year 1937 would bring economical recovery after the damaging Berlin stock market crash that ravage them from the previous year. That night, the Ruthenian king, Vladimir I, and the entire royal family would be attending the Belarussian National Theatre as the theatre would be hosting an exceptional performance that night. The performance went on as usual until the third whistle where an explosion have shredded the building with the shock wave and devour the remains with fire.

buildingfire.jpg

This incident shook the country's stability to its core as the royal family were included in the lists of victims.

King Vladimir I and his family were rushed into medical care immediately but stood no chance against the explosive. Fortunately, there is a survivor. His Royal Highness Prince Sigismund survived because he was very late for some oddly reason and just in time as he approached the building, the explosion happened. That's very convenient. There will be no succession crisis and Prince Sigismund would become the king of White Ruthenia. But wait... that seems to be too convenient.

Her neighbours have also smelt it, especially Germany. Mitteleuropa have accused Sigismund that he is somehow involved in this vile plot to gain the crown through this wholesale murder despite the soon-to-be-king's constant blame of the attack to its Socialist neighbour, Russia. The relations instantly went ground zero between Mitteleuropa and White Ruthenia where the later walked out of the alliance and cancels all treaties with her former friends. Germany never had any evidence for such accusations so military action were turned down. They were left with their own business and their borders closed. Later on, this would become Ruthenia's own downfall.

-------------

September 1938. Minsk.

It was more than a year later after the isolation. White Ruthenia was living peacefully with their bitter former friends in the North, West and South and the Socialist giant in the East. Well, until now. Since the second half of August, there was an unusual military build up in the East. The build up continue onwards to September. Now they have received a telegram from Moscow, a set of demands that are totally unacceptable.

Just like in Ukraine where Khrushchev was asked to incorporate the liberated lands back to Mother Russia. Kremlin asked the king to dissolve their Reactionary government, abdicate himself and let the People's Army march in and liberate the Proletariat of Ruthenia. The offer was flatly declined. In September 3, Soviet Russia declared war to White Ruthenia. The invasion was coded as 'Operation Saber'. In the invasion, there will be 5 advances. From North to South:

1. Six divisions advancing to Swieciany
2. Ten divisions would assault the enemy capital, Minsk.
3. Thirteen divisions would punch through the Mogilev and capture the vital airfield and into Baranowicze
4. A corps of three divisions would march to Zhlobin with another corps supporting them from the south
5. Nine divisions would tore to the strategic cities of Rowne and Brest-Litovsk.

Operation Saber

The opening of the war went in total favour to the Soviets with the Ruthenians suffering defeat on all battles.

The opening phase of the war

-------------------

2 days later.

“It seems that have no other choice but to accept the German's offer.” King Sigismund conceded after many of his ministers protest when he decided to ignore the German's help against Soviet Russia.

“Thank you, Your Majesty, for the wise decision you have taken.” his prime minister said with relief “We will send the reply immediately.”

The king just nod, still his face is blank, probably deep in thinking about what he has done. After a while, the draft reply was finalised and now will be sent towards Berlin. The telegram was sent with haste and the beeps and bops of technology that used to race through the wires, now flies through the air and receives by a piece of metal rod known as a 'radio receiver'. But it wasn't Berlin who received the message.

“Comrade! We got it!” the man gleefully said to his partners as the paper reveals the vital message. After a few moments, the message transfer is done. They pull it out and read.

“They accepted it.”

They all looked at each other. One of them went to his folder that was specifically laid there for a special reason. He pulled out a paper and give it to his comrade. The trio became busy again. They have sent a brand new message.

“Alright, that's the 'fool' message sent. Job well done. Misha, send a top priority message back to GRU Moscow. Operation Swift is a success.”

----------------

Eight days after the war began, it's already clear that the Russians will win. The victorious Red Army still haven't received any defeats, the capital was surrounded and aside from Minsk, there is only one strategic point that needs to be taken to declare the operation as complete.

frontline38.png

Frontline. 11th of September 1938.

Three days later, the siege of Minsk would enter its final phase. The assault of Minsk. The assault have consisted of a total of 20 divisions from three directions against the 4 division defenders. The battle went on for 6 days until the garrison surrendered officially. Upon the fall of Minsk and the absence of the German invervention, King Sigismund tried to escape to the free western parts Ruthenia and cross the border to Poland but the Soviets have capture him and was sent to Moscow.

In September 18, four days after the siege of Minsk, Brest-Litovsk has been captured and the Ruthenian Army is decimated and its political and military leadership now in Soviet hands.

White Ruthenia surrendered. The war was over within the month. Operation Saber was flawless. The murderous king was convicted for crimes against the Motherland and the Proletariat and received a noose fit for a king.

Map of western Russia

October 5 have arrived in Russia with millions of the workers, farmers and soldiers of the Motherland pays respect, once again, to the man who made Russia into a worker's state.

lenin2.png

In September and in October, our bright comrades have made more breakthroughs in the field of technology just like how our brave soldiers have in the battlefield. A new war hospital model was implemented. Now our wounded yet courageous soldiers will be treated more efficiently. More industrial machineries were placed to factories throughout Russia, making them more productive than before. In November, a small research bureau under the People's Commissariat of Armaments was founded, it was known as the “Group for the Study of Reactive Motion”, or simply, “RNII”. However, the newly founded research bureau was very small and the NKPV (Armaments) have made a request to finance the construction of a full-fledge military research base for their experiments. The NKPV have also revealed a new type of aircraft for the Soviet Air Force, the Lisunov Li-2. The NKPV have designated it as a 'logistic aircraft'.

Since the completion of the destroyers and submarines from the Kerensky regime, the navy was never given any attention at all. The neglected branch of the armed force was finally given some attention. Fleet Admiral of the Soviet Russia Nikolai Kuznetsov have submitted reports about his dream of the future Soviet Navy. The dream wasn't extravagant nor unrealistic yet it was turned down by Chairman Bukharin. Apparently, the Soviet mindset about carriers is that they are capitalist weapons and Russia should definitely avoid them and when the question of naval air superiority arise, Commissar Tukhachevsky and Yakov Alksnis, the Chief Marshall of Aviation of the Soviet Russia, dismissed the use of the carriers and instead labelled Russia as an unsinkable “super-carrier”. Kuznetsov's dream of a carrier fleet died. However, to the determined Fleet Admiral, he didn't gave up on putting carriers into the Soviet fleet. He altered his original design from a carrier task force to a battleship fleet and they will be accompanied by destroyers and escort carriers but these were labelled as “aircraft carrying heavy cruisers”. He also reasoned to Bukharin personally that these aircraft carrying heavy cruiser would be vital against enemy aircraft and submarines. The chairman reluctantly backed his fleet design.

The NKPV is now trying to create a new model of ships of the Soviet Navy, one for the heavy cruisers (not the aircraft-carrying ones, mind) and another one for the battleship fleet. It was a victory for Kuznetsov. He is currently writing a report about the use of submarines. Chief Mashall of Aviation Alksnis is also doing a report too on how the air force could directly aid the land force.

soviettech1938nov.png

After the victories in the West and in the South, Mother Russia have expanded tremendously, now she needs more men to protect her internally. More NKGB troops were trained and deployed to the newly liberated lands.

nkgbtroops.png

In October 11, the tireless Red Army crossed the border and invaded the Cossack state of Don-Kuban Union. Without German intervention again, these ancient and obsolete warriors would be no match against the hardened soldiers of the Red war machine. Don-Kuban Union used to be under the Mitteleuropa sphere under Berlin's protection against a resurgent Russia. The influence on the land decayed away as Ukraine was overthrown by the Socialists and with the Ottoman Empire joining Belgrade Pact against her former friend, Germany. The Cossacks were given an option to give up the lands, surrender to the Bolshevik system and abandon the obsolete Cossack tradition or face invasion.

Operation Borodino was the code name for the liberation of the Proletariat in the Don-Kuban Union. The main objectives were to capture the strategic city of Tsaritsyn (Volgograd IRL) with two advances from west and east. The capture of Tsaritsyn would cut the Cossack state into half. More advances would be made in the vital cities of Grozny, Novorossisk and Bashanta. Another one would be to encircle the capital city, Yekaterinodar.

opborodino.png

Operation Borodino

Things went optimistically well as the opening battles of the war were all resulted in victory with the exception of the attack to Novorossisk. The defeat was understandable since they were forced to do an amphibious assault. Another lesson the Red Army have to learn.

frontline41.png

Opening phase of the war

In October 28, the thrust from the west was currently on its way to Tsaritsyn. A minor drawback happened with the Soviets advancing to Grozny were stopped by the Cossacks. There is also an attack to Armavil in the South-West to surround the forces in Novorossisk, unfortunately they were repelled.

frontline42.png

Frontline. 28th of October 1938

By the beginning of the following month, November, the capital city was captured by the Bolsheviks. The next day was a renewed attack on Novorossisk from Kerch across the Black Sea but this time, they were supported by 6 divisions from the northern pincer. The soldiers rejoiced when the Cossacks were kicked out of the city.

Three days later, Konev's tanks have rolled through the city of Tsaritsyn and Konev have renamed the city into Bukharingrad. Later on, they shook hands with the cavalry division from the east. The Red troops are now also on their way to Bashanta and Grozny.

In the 2nd American Civil War, the Reds are racing all the way to the Gulf of Mexico in an audacious plan to surround the Federal troops in the Eastern America. Long is still stuck in the North-East, a place that has no love for the Firsters.

Eastern USA. November 1938

By November 20, the Cossacks were in no position to fight the Red war machine. Petr Krasnov surrendered and was arrested. Victory is complete.

frontline46.png

Frontline. 20th of November 1938

The Cossack leader and his cronies was, of course, charge for crimes against the Motherland for resisting and against the Proletariat for the Cossack's elitist system where they still use serfs to feed the military class (who are the de facto ruling class of the state). The Cossack system, lifestyle and ideas were suppressed by the military and later on, the NKGB. Plans were made to plant factories throughout the region as part of the Bukharin's Five Year Plan, collectivise the new agrarian land and assimilate the Cossacks to the Socialist life of Soviet Russia, a collective regime of peace and love.

Ah, good, you've finally squashed them. They had an ugly shape on the map :p

I see Im not the only person who thought so. Besides, the Cossacks were not meant to be.

Things are looking grim for Germany; their eastern puppets are almost totally gone (except for Lithiuania and the Baltic Duchy) and their colonies in China and Africa are in varying states of collapse.

@MercZ - I already wish for their demise all the way in the 2nd Civil War but the German GoI is just an obstacle to me.

@SovietAmerika - Yes. They are a old piece of the old Tsarist Russia. They must be crushed.

@Morlak - AUS attacked CSA in the New England area then USA kicked them out of their homebase.

@talt - you forgot Poland ;) not to mention, they are at war with OE. And there will be another one. :D

@Patukov - three nations actually ;) a traitor, a puppet and a country I just feel like invading.

Update still not done. :( Darkest Hour and Cities in Motion is just... :p

Alienating his only allies was a rather silly move by Sigismund, good thing you punished him for his stupidity. And quite frankly the Don Cossacks needed to die in order to remove that hideous border from the map so good work all round!

Ya i thought you were from america since you talked about a dinner in a rather odd time (23;33)

btw i dont get it... how could soviets block the message from reaching germany if there was no such technology to black out radio signals back then...

Could you make the CSA inherit the firster? War could still be won if you do this. We could assume that the demoralizer firster were forced to conscript tons of workers of CSA allegiance who the rebelled, killed their officiers and joinned Reed?
