The Panda Express - Chinese AAR

Well I was all set to attack Russia then France became their Ally. Negotiating with a 3rd party was a pain last time so I held off.


Then shortly there after France left their alliance and I still had the CB alive. I went for it.



Persia and Afghanistan joined my cause but Japan and the Ottomans did not. I did not ask Austria because they could be a useful defensive ally.


The western front in the Naryn region was my most vulnerable area. The desert and mountains are just too much attrition. I decided to let them come to me.


Eventually Russia's allies dropped out of the war, this was looking good.




With my northeastern border protected by Russian liberal rebs, I moved all my available forces west to take on Russian division that started to show up.


Some looks at territories captured my my soldiers.



The attrition war just did not faze the Russian onslaught in the West. I got eager and sent some armies to dispatch them.


This was the biggest battle that took place with a win for me. Still more troops showed up on the border after this win. Because of the terrian and numbers attrition was hitting me hard too.


Well while I was busy on the western front, Russia sent many minor armies to take care of the rebs and it exposed my east flank. They also attacked me hard in the northwest.


My war score I needed was 11, I never got past 6. I tried to grab some other remote territories but it was falling apart in the west and leveled back down to 0. Disappointed with the outcome I decided on a white peace. For the future, I will not attack Russia again unless they are thrown into a war with another great Euro power. They need more distractions than rebs for me to take them still. I guess back to the drawing board for taking Japan. They are just in my sphere and no longer allies.

Speaking of warscore - don't focus on territories, with very few exceptions (like a capital) you will find provinces barely budge your warscore in a battle with a large country like Russia. It's all about the battles. Just try to take 1 province so their war exhausion goes up (and of course whatever state you're asking to acquire).

I am holding my own with them, just the territories are so remote that both sides go back and forth with victories. In the turn of the century, don't worry, Russia will feel my wrath.

Here is my army tech

Again Russia offers me an alliance. I take it because I am not fit for a large scale war right now.


Then a few nationalist pop up around parts of my country. The most I have seen since before the patch.


And then, the Feces hit the fan. The boxer rebellion hit my whole country practically. In the SE I was totally vulnerable. I shipped troops from Japan and Taiwan to help. All my troops stationed on the Russian border were sent south to sweep and clear.



The war swung to the Boxers fast but my troops made it to their concentrations and wiped thousands of them away.



These were my allies at the time. If someone attacked me, I was finished. Thank God Russia was my friend at this time.


Well, Korea saw this as their chance for freedom so they jump at me as well.


Well, I eradicated nearly all boxer armies but they took too many Territories. So it pissed off the westerners because they are a bunch of thugs and they commit atrocities.


1 day later, even though I was at 200 relations the UK jumps on me for a ride. The wheels are coming off i'm afraid.

Notice all of my allies leave me because they don't want to get on the British hit list.

I am playing with absolutely no mods, but rebs have not been a problem at all until now. My BB is 0

You are making this a fun experience for me even if I am going to get steamrolled by the UK.

I mobilized my reserves and rushed then south. The Korean peninsula was dealt with swiftly.


I lost a little ground but have won more battles, the war is about even.

Well, I might have been winning battles but those damn Brits came out of the woodwork. The landed by sea and came through their satellites. Pretty soon my peasant army was just chasing them around in circles.



When it rains, it pours. If I knew this was going to happen, I would have just done cut down to size white flag early on.


With my war going badly and more troops landing, I gave in.


The Brits grabbed some prime real-estate.


Run you lobster backs and don't come back! Wish I was saying this in a taunting victory voice.


My economy got wrecked the most from this war. Lost over 6M. Had to fix this fast.


I noticed that the CSA is up on the rise.



Hard to see, but Russia is having major problems again with rebs.


Georgia might be a small country, but i'll nab them into my sphere.

One tip - it looks from your screen grab that you have a small number of large armies. If instead you have a large number of smaller armies (say 30K soldiers per), and then rotate them into/out of battles as they need rest, you'll probably get better results. OTOH, your grab shows the UK with an enormous MIL score, so maybe you were just doomed

On a different note - the CSA may be #7, but from your grab it looks like the US is in the middle of spanking it.

Your grab also shows a whole bunch of little countries, none of which usually appear, let alone all - Cyprus, Crimea, Danzig, and most intriguingly, Congo. How did these happen, do you know?


Also, you can probably lower your taxes significantly, which will make your people a lot happier.

Yeah, I have lowered them since. I was in such a deficit that I had to jack them up temporarily.

To tell the truth I have not notice much outside my lands for who formed where.

Oh the joys of putting down boxers. Here we go again.

Sweet my cut down to size wore off and now I can build my military once again


When this showed up I was like WTF?? I beat them down and they took nothing but yet they say they won?


Of course the damn Brits declare war on me. I had nothing for an army to match them. I learned that from the last war so I gave in right away.



My economy was in the tubes once again, since I was not going to worry about the military for the next 5 years, time to clean up this dump and get rid of a few $$ eaters and put in some thing that make $$. Cement has been my only strong $$ producer thus far.


Well maybe there is a God? This was a surprise, I took it on the bat.


I am kinda treading water right now, sorry for the lame updates recently.

Yeah, subsides are going bye bye for the ones milking my flow. My railroad is at the second stage thus far. That is one of the things I want to catch up on since military is cut down to size.

The boxer bug huh? You think I should report it? I wiped them all away and I still lost.

My Japanese friends have finally civilized. This might make the war a tad harder with them if it ever happens.


Back in the saddle again. I know boxers hated a western presence, but they are making westerners declare war on me.



This was strange. I guess because Japan is allied with the CSA and in their sphere? USA has gobbled up many Pacific holdings as well.


Cleared the boxers and they did not take one province from me. I will be pissed if they declare victory again on me

Because I have gone to a free market system with really no subsides, my industry score has gone down but my cash flow is no problem. Going from 2nd place to 5th is no big deal as long as I am a great power.
