Chapter 7: Europe your a Dame

(So weird new everyone! I got annexed! By Bavaria, during the war with Brandenburg who came to help Switzerland. Austria joined them and invaded the land I took from Switzerland+Milan and so once I released myself from Bavaria I rose up and annexed their asses. Stupid Augsburg wanted to help so they got it too.)
Salzburg belonged to the enemy; the war with Switzerland was a success, but the one against her allies was not. Despite peace between Switzerland and the Archbishopric being instated her allies wanted to claim glory for themselves. Bavaria, and Austria joined the war on Brandenburg's side and together they claimed our lands. The Austrians invaded Aquiella and took the region of Tirol. Meanwhile Bavaria and Augsburg took our homeland. The archbishop and his company retreated to Avignon where they awaited what would happen next. The World was in chaos: Spain had revolted and the Catholic powers regained their land, squashing the Iberian nation into Granada, and then to dust. While Castille took out their oppressors Aragon took out our allies in Italy as Naples was annexed. Catholicism had returned to the Peninsula. But all was not well in Christendom, the Ottomons had annexed the Protestant nations of Greece and Epirus ceased to exist. Meanwhile in the Slavic lands the Teutonic order split between it and the Monk society of the Livonian Order.
Although Europe was in chaos, what with Austria and the Spaniards inheriting everything. In Avignon the Archbishop was ecstatic to learn that rebels funded by the Austrian empire had overthrown Bavaria and her ally Augsburg and turned them into a New Salzburg! Patriot rebels appeared en mass the call for the Archbishop's return. Rupert was old though, he could not take another trip back to his homeland after all these years. So he beckoned his manservant to him and asked gently, "Are you versed in the ways of god?" He nodded nervously and stood firm to the Archbishop. "You are to take my place young man, my accomplishes here shall teach you how to rule. Since our nation is stronger now you shall need such teachings." Rupert beckoned to his men who escorted the Man servant to a carriage where he would be dressed and sent to the Capital.
The new lands of Salzburg after it's rebirth.
The Ex-Archbishop coughed irksomely as it became obvious he was in ill health. But he was a proud man so it was not strange he was hiding it to his company. Seven days later he died of a strange "whooping cough"[1].
But elsewhere there was a less somber mood: In Salzburg the people were cheering in the streets and the former rebels united into a new army. They all eagerly awaited Archbishop's arrival. Even things considered strange and/or sinful by hardcore Catholics were being performed, "For the streets flowed with whine and the people were unable to control their urges" reads the words of a scribe of that period (whom also later admits to have done some of the worst things about three sentences down). But as the Archbishop's coach pulled up it became aware to the crowd that the Archbishop was no longer with them. For the man in the cart was not the aged and joyful man whom they had grown to love; it was a young and nervous looking man who could barely fit into his Bishop robes. The army surrounded the cab and began to question them. The Common ones were, "Where is the Archbishop!?" or "What have you done with him?", but soon it became clear. The Old Leader of Salzburg was as the past was, old; and most were sure he was hiding something from the public.
So the long and hard realization that a new age had sadly dawned began to creep over Salzburg. Just as the Year of Morning had that same day.
