I just westernised. There are big powers such as Turkey, Austria, Castille, France, Silesia, Morocco...etc Even Lithuenia has 88k army:blink: I have 126k.

How do you actually reform the Ottos into Turkey in DW? I've just started an Ottoman game and would like to know.

P.S. that's a fairly neat Russia.

I think it's the default for the Ottomans in DAO.

And that is a pretty good Russia. It'd look better with Lithuania, though.
 
I got a good Emperor (5/7/7 I believe) and used him as my main commander up until I could afford a better general. (First invasion was mentese)

You just gotta be careful of the first Ottoman War in 1359 and at least gain one territory from them - then focus on Serbia and Eprius. Gain Albania as an ally, and continue south when the time presents itself. (I recommend Morea as a vassal)

Then just build up forces to re-invade Asia-Minor.

In the end - I have an army of 31,000 or so. Using yafa infantry more so now since Medieval won't do shit against the Eastern Nations.

EDIT: Also - Moldovia has my dynasty as well.

Anyways - just carefully use your Emperor. I also got a Regency for Iohannes VI died in the military. Thankfully Manuel II was 14 years old.
 
Here's my German empire using the Death and Taxes mod. I set myself the task of becoming as powerful as possible without expanding too much outside of Europe. Here are the results.
(P.S. My army is only 2.6 million men, it would be far bigger but I went full quality, so they all have 200% discipline, effectively giving me 5.2 million men)

:eek: What is your desktop resolution? 2560x1600?
Also what is your monitor?
 
This is an update on my first game: Castille -> Spain. Again, no mods, no cheats (in fact, looking for achievements), easy difficulty and the rest is default config.

I'm leading PU's with Sweden, Muscowy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldavia and Wallachia, so I'll pretty much get rid of the inheritance system, since the rest should be annexed in a future when I form the HRE, so it will be time to switch to a republic, I guess. But not for now, as I'm bordering a lot of hordes (mmm, land for free, "me wantee") and people say that you can't inherit while at war with them... I'll give it a try now that my next objective is to lower my infamy.

During the last 40 years, I focused on Holy Wars and waiting for the opportunities to force PU's claiming throne mainly or using spies in few situations with the last big independent european nations. I started "colonizing" the India for the achievement (I should have waited, since I think I have enough time to do a WC) and, just after I met the hordes in person, I offered them no chance to retreat, consuming any province bordering the empire and increasing the land size considerably.

Current objectives: Set up a land connection with north Africa, finish off all of the hordes in case I couldn't inherit because of bordering them and, in summary, Holy War FTW below the infamy limit! :laugh: Forming the HRE can wait (personally, I don't like the tag nor the color so I'll let it be as a low priority...).
