The future certainly is bright. ( if you call 1936-1939 = 3 years bright) :P.
I'm still thinking about the Danzig issue, and probably will until 1939 aug 31.

August - 1 januari 1937.

This is going to be a short update since not much happened during this timeline, and I don't want to stretch it out to
a full year+.

On the 10th of October new infantry divisions were ready.
Like the previous time, new ones were ordered to be ready soon





The Organisation of our army increased on the 3rd of November.





Five days later, on the 8th of November, the army was finished with re-organising in
4 brigades divisions. This means we got 39 full divisions.





And finaly on the 18th of November our people gained knowledge.




1937 1th of January.

Looking back, we created at least 10+ new divisions and organised our army into full divisions.
By looking at the numbers we realise our goal of 70 divisions ready for 1939 will not be able to succeed.

What we realised even more, is that we already are beginning to be on the end of the ropes manpower-wise.

On the good side, Europe is still at peace, no wars have happened.

It is the 9th world wonder if I play with hq :P.
I just hate having hq's because when in battle, ( at least when I lead battles) the whole army will be disorganised in terms of " division to hq" that's why I won't play with them.
Only on some occasions I use them. ( and yes im aware of the bonuses I won't have)

The ic will probably go in the reinforcements for now. Upgrading will be done by late 1938.

Allies offer nothing of a help to Poland. I played many times and had to stay on my own because France and UK did nothing. It's probably in the engine because rarely it happens that French move from the Maginot Line.

I am writing my aar with Poland but in polish on our polish website right now. maybe I will translate it some time.
The best strategy for Poland is to stay put behind the Wisła river and and attack only the Konigsberg area. If you manege to survive till winter behind Wisła then there is a chance.

At NORMAL, Poland can certainly beat Germany in 1939.

Having four brigades gives some nice bonus to combat efficienty.
You are right about 3 brigades, that way I could cover more provinces, but that would make it easier for the Germans to breakthrough.
I'm trying to create a short but defensible line behind the river, and if possible, with some forts.

Now I only get more manpower by the three-year-draft-law. I need all that manpower for the battle with Germany. ( attrition, casualties).
I might be able to make 3-6 more divisions but more I can't afford.

And don't worry, i'm not afraid to lose, just pointed out that is was my first game as non-major, because someone said it was easy.

It seems my update is finished earlier then expected.

The Year of Wars

The year started with bad signs, on the second day of the new year,
Stalin started the great officer purge, Apparrently Stalin lost his confidence in the army.



On the 7th of February our new divisions were ready, this brought our total divisions to 45.





On the same day we decided that we needed more officers



We also decided we should start to build our defensive line. New forts would be created.



Only 2 days later, we got news that foreign nations are trying to bring down our political party by supporting the opposition.
We must investigate this and make sure they are dealt with



3 months later we received news of our technological advances, our armed forces are upgraded with 1938 technology.



2 months later it happened, Japan declared war upon the chinese, and a week later they joined forces with the germans.







On the 15th of September, Japan asked for 42 energy.
We accepted it.



A few days later, on the 24th, Nationalist Spain declared war upon Republic Spain. In the following days after, the major powers

of Europe showed their support to either side.









On the 14th of October, we received news of one of our ministers, apparantly he secretly support our opposition, we will give him

a new position.



A month later, some of our new forts were ready, we hope to have some level 2 forts ready before 1939



On the 3rd of December we received more news, the Soviet Union , decided to influence us to their faction.

The Year of Rising Tensions.

1938 started with the expansion of Mengkukuo by the Japanese.



On the 3rd of February, Japan annexed Communist China.



and 2 days later, Austria suffered a political crisis.



On the 17th of February, the polish people decided they would work harder



On the eleventh of March Germany annexed Austria.
It was the first violation of the treaty of Versailles





On the 20th of April, little more then a month after the people worked harder,
they participated in a major strike.



The month of May brought nothing interesting, but June did,
The Spanish Civil war is over, the nationalists won.



On the 13th of June we got a shocking report, Japan canceled our trade deal,
and a month later, The Soviet Union canceled theirs.To keep the plus in resources we needed to switch over to USA







A few days later we received some better news, our technology reached a point in which we would have 1940 technology for our armed forces ( clicked the 4th one away accidentally)



The month of August, brought no news, but the Month of September brought more frightening news.
On the 28th of September, Germany annexed the Sudetenland in reaction to the treatment of Germans in those areas by Czechoslovakia.
And not only that, Japan annexed Xibei San Ma the same day.





And only 4 days later, Nationalist China surrendered to Japan.
it became clear why the Japanese canceled their trade with us.



The year ended in more Favor for the Japanese, on the 25th of December 1938,
Japanese troops occupied Guangxi Clique. it was annexed.
Japan had won total victory over the chinese nations, their war was over.

A very interesting AAR.
Just my two cents:

A. It may have been beneficial to get some construction practical right off the start to speed up your fort construction at this stage.

B. Manpower is going to be an issue. I totally understand waging a defensive battle, but once you starting reinforcing all those infantry units to replace losses, you may find yourself in a manpower hole you can't get out of. Would there not be some benefit to shifting IC into less manpower intesive units (i.e. arty or engineer brigades as attachments, armour or interceptors and tac)?

C. At some point your going to need to shift momentum if you can weather the initial storm. Can your infantry clear the Danzig pocket to the north? It would allow you to concentrate forces purely westward if you had the forces necessary to clear the pocket.

This should be an interesting war. Your prepared for an enemy and you know the ground he must cross.
