Greater Germany, East Prussia, Rastenburg, Wolfschanze - February 13. 19.00

*The days is almost to an end, and since Jodl is in Russia at this time, the chief of the German army, Wilhelm Keitel will give the Fuhrer the news from the front. Keitel has just read through the achievements of the week, and he is not looking forward to this. Keitel moves slowly through the corridors, drops of sweat is slowly moving down his face, as he walks he wipes them off and also tries to gain some confidence...

When he reaches the Fuhrers door, he can hear voices from inside, one of them is Hitler, the other sounds familiar, but he can't determine who it is. He knocks on the door, and the door is opened from the inside. The man who was in the room, and whom now has opened the door is Erich Raeder, the commander and chief of the German navy. He greets Keitel with a "güten abend" followed by a smile on his face. The two men take their seats at the Fuhrers table.*

Hitler: Good to see you Keitel, Reader was just about to tell me of the navy's progress during the last week, let us give the good admiral our full attention.

Raeder: Danke Mein Fuhrer. The Kriegsmarine has stepped up its activity massively this week. Since Stalingrad the allies have struck our supply convoys heading for Tunisia, and since we have minimal control in the Mediterranean we have not been able to do anything about this. During the last week this has changed a bit, our u-boats have struck in the north Atlantic which has made the British withdraw some of their ships from the Mediterranean and sent them back to the Atlantic, and I persuaded Göring to send some squadrons to Italy, and they have successfully attacked British raiders. Nevertheless we have lost 5 transports during the last week, an escort have also been sunk.

Hitler: Well that is not too bad. The last thing Rommel needs is more difficulty with supplies! Do you have any figures on the U-boat kills in the Atlantic?

Raeder: We have managed to get about half of our U-boats into action and they have done some very effective work. The British have lost a total of 35 transports and the U-boats have also sunk 8 escorts, my analysis's of the situation is that the British have around 350-400 transports, so if these figures keep the way they are then they should run out of ships in 12-14 weeks!

Hitler: Sehr güt! And you are planning to step up the activity?

Raeder: Yes Mein Fuhrer, I have ordered U-boats to try to stop the supplies which are being sent to Leningrad, other ships have been sent to stop soviet convoys on their way to Arhhangel'sk , I am also organizing surface ships, both for strikes against convoys and strikes against the Royal Navy.

Hitler: Güt, anything else?

Raeder: I am planning an amphibious attack, but I will have to discuss this more closely with Von Falkenhorst before deciding on a precise target, but the necessary forces and ships are being mustered.

Hitler: Speak more plainly you fool! What do you mean by this!?

Keitel: Mein Fuhrer... Our losses in the east is a staggering 30 781 men. 27 100 have fallen in combat with ground forces and a further 3 681 have been killed by Russian aircraft.

*Hitler takes off his glasses, his eyes exude anger, but he manages to stay calm. Instead of raging, he silently raises his voice.*

Hitler: And the Russian losses?

Keitel: The Russians have lost 23 462 to our ground troops, and the Luftwaffe has been responsible for killing 5 267, their total is 28 729 men.

Hitler: Well.... That is lower than our losses, can you explain the cause of this?

Keitel: Yes Mein Fuhrer. Our men do not have supplies, they are fighting with bayonets and sometimes their bare hands, many of the dead are also Romanians and Hungarians. Our supply lines are interrupted by enemy bombers and they are also very long.

Hitler: Nein, nein, nein!! I will not stand for this! Either our men will have to preserve they ammunition, or something will have to be done, build up the infrastructure!!

The Italians withdrew from Horumt Souk a few days ago, and they finally reached the Mareth line in Gabes. General Beraudo di Palermo left behind 457 dead men in Horumt Souk before finally withdrawing, the attacking British lost 338 men. The Italians are now holding another British attack, which is made against our men holding the Mareth line, the enemy attack is not making much progress, this is partially because of General Messe's excellent defense skills, and the presence of the 15. Panzer-division. Rommels offensive has been continued, and he is now attacking the British and French in Souk Ahras, there are 5 enemy divisions in the area, but only one is fit for combat, the others are ravaged after the battles of Kassarine and Tébessa. Rommel's panzers are short on supplies, but he believes that general Von Broich who is in command of the attack can push through the enemy defenses if they are not reinforced.

Keitel: On the north coast we have been pushed back the entire week, the enemy attacked our men in Bizerte, and our 3 000 troops could not stop the French armored division, they had to fall back, and left behind 492 men, the French lost merely 53. During the battle of Bizerte general Ostendorff tried to take som pressure of the defenders of Bizerte, and he launched an attack against Mateur, his lightly armed mountain troops did not make much headway against the French tanks, and he called off the attack within a few days. During those days we lost 240 men, and the enemy lost 122 of their troops. The French have committed a mistake, they have dashed for Tunis without securing their supply lines through Mateur, since they have left the region the way is now clear for Ostendorff, as well as the divisions heading north to support him, and Rommel thinks he can encircle the French division and destroy them within a few weeks.

Hitler: Very well, let us hope that Rommel's offensive can take him through the allied lines and on to Oran!

Keitel: That was everything from Africa, I will begin in the east with the developments in the Kuban area:

Keitel: In this region too there has been heavy fighting, however, only three battles are ongoing, this is the 3. battle of Batajsk, the battle of Korenovsk, and the struggle for Kamensk-Sahtinskij. During last week we quickly won the 1. battle of Batajsk, and Von Manteuffels troops quickly occupied the area, in the battle the Russians lost 762 men, Von Manteuffel lost 378 of his men. At the same time we won the 2. battle of Timasevsk and recaptured that region, general Warlimont lead the attack and during the battle he lost 649 men, while the Russians lost 1167 of their men. With the success in Batajsk, and the victory in Timasevsk we had essentially encircled about 8 Russian divisions in the Kuban area.

Hitler: That is good, how did the situation develop?

Keitel: At more or less the same time General Fromm won the battle of Slavjansk-na-Kubani, he lost 568 men, while the Russians lost 611 of their troops. Once this area had been held he was ordered by Von Kleist to help with the reduction of the pocket, and his men attacked the Russians in Primorsko-Ahtarsk, which fell in an hour, the Russians lost 16 men in the short skirmish, and we lost 10. At this point the Russians began their attempts to break out of the pocket, they attacked simultaneously in 4 sectors. The enemy push to take Kuban was broken off within the hour, and general Raconvitza lost only 5 men, the Russians lost 18 before breaking of the skirmish. The 3. battle of Timasevsk lasted longer, but the Russians broke off their attack against Warlimont's forces after losing 960 men, we lost 828. Their attack against Korenovsk is more serious, and they are still attacking the region, general Von Tippelskirch is a winter specialist and his men are dug in deep, but they can't win unless they are reinforced, the problem is that there are no reinforcements to send. Von Kleist tried to relieve pressure with an attack against Belorecensk, Von Weitersheim led the attack, and he lost 514 men before the attack was called off, the Russians lost 192 men. The Russians attacked Batajsk, determined to retake it, reinforcements arrived too late, and Von Manteuffel had to retreat, he left 1255 men behind, most if them Romanian cavalry, the Russians lost 514 men. Batajsk is still a contested region, most of the infrastructure is destroyed, but Von Funck, who is an excellent panzer commander is attacking the province, he assumes he can manage a breakthrough within a few days.

Hitler: That pocket will be closed again! We need a victory in the east!

Keitel: Yes of course Mein Fuhrer.

Hitler: Besides that I think the situation looks good.

Keitel: I will move on to the Don area:

Keitel: The pockets of Ostrogozsk and Volokonovka has both surrendered, the Hungarians in Ostrogozsk surrendered early last week, general Cramer had held out for a long time and having lost 3424 men he finally gave in. The Russians lost 802 men. The Italians in Volokonovka also surrendered, we have no idea of the losses in the area. Pakrowskoje was seized by our forces late this week, and general Raus lost 2332 men before the Russians withdrew, the enemy lost 3442 men. Raus's men had barely taken the area when the Russians counterattacked, the attack was ineffective and was called off quickly, Raus lost 137 men, while inflicting 975 casualties on the Russians. Further south the Russians attacked our men in Gornjacki, general Mieth put up a strong defense and the Russians called off the operation within a day, we lost 248 men, while the Russians lost 194.

I have been instructed by general Von Schweppenburg that he is planning an attack which will be executed as soon as enough supplies have been gathered, this attack is aimed at breaking through to general Hell's trapped men.

Hitler: Make sure that Dietrich get's his supplies!

Keitel: Jawohl Mein Fuhrer. The southern sector is next in line:

Keitel: Our attack against Kolpny was finally called off, general Petzel lost 3568 men before the firing stopped, the Russian defenders lost 2208 men. The next event was a Russian attack against general Reinhardt in Orel, the city is held by 5 divisions, however, some of them are Hungarian, and the men are short on supplies, Reinhardt thinks he can hold out, and your orders concerning retreat have been issued to the troops. To relieve pressure off Orel we launched a diversionary attack against Zmiyevka, the province which was lost by general Hahm last week. This time general Geib led the attack, however Von Manstein called it off after a few days, we lost 495 men compared to 210 Russian dead.

Hitler: Orel must be held! It is a big city, and I will not tolerate a retreat, if Reinhardt retreat's he will be shot!

Keitel :Jawohl Mein Fuhrer! In the center Von Kluge has made some progress, take a look:

Keitel: The Russians called off their attack against general Grasser in Belye Beregna, before the battle was over we 2541 of our men were killed, the Russians lost 2243 men in their attacks. As you know we attacked Ljubohna last week, and general Praun who assumed command from the Hungarian general Lakatos quickly broke through the inner Russian lines, he lost 2290 men in the process, the Russians lost 2437 men. General Schlopper has assumed command over some of the troops, and he is now pushing towards Dudorovskiy, the attack seems to be going well, and I assume that victory can be achieved within the next week.

Hitler: Very well, I think I can assume that the attack will succeed!

(Schlopper has brought up artillery to support his attack.)

Keitel: Our attack against Sukhinichi has been resumed, mostly to take pressure off Mosalsk, however general Schaal is making progress, and I think he can win the battle. The final battle was the struggle for Moslask, general Müller finally won the battle and in the process killed 2226 Russians, we lost 2895 men before victory was ours.

Hitler: I think it is very important to win the struggle for Sukhinichi, I am sure Schaal will not disappoint me, if he does...

*Keitel changes the subject by giving Hitler another map.*

Keitel: The 2. battle for Nasva ended early last week, and general Peschel lost 752 men before the Russians broke off their attack, the Russians lost 288 men. We also won the battle of Andreapol, general Panwitz seized the area early last week, he lost 1560 men, the Russians lost 2114 before they realized that further resistance was futile. We made a small push for Peno, general Von Pappenheim was very eager, and he launched the attack on his own initiative, it was called off within a day. Von Pappenheim lost 124 men, while the Russians lost 122. General Arndt launched another attack against Ploskos, mostly to take pressure off Nasva, the attack did not last long and when it was called off we had lost 42 men, the Russians lost 41 of their men in this skirmish.

Hitler: Arndt must be given more men, I want Ploskos to be taken! Es ist Mein willen!

Keitel: Of course Mein Fuhrer. The Russians have once again resumed their attack against Nasva, and Peschel's men are holding on with their fingernails, a spoiling attack will be launched against the Russians next week.

Hitler: Mein liber gott. Peschel is holding out no matter what! I want him to be promoted, and his corpsis to be renamed, "Armeekorps Nasva".

Keitel: I will see to it myself Mein Fuhrer! Shall we move on to the Leningrad area:

The Russians attacked Morozova for a third time, however, general Hilpert's men once again kept them at bay, and when the attack ended the Russians had lost 775 men, we lost 495. They also attacked Tosno for a 3. time, Von Leys men held out the attacks for many days and the Russians gave up after having lost 2145 men, Von Leys lost 1785 men. The problem in this sector is that the Russians outnumber us grossly, and they keep changing their divisions when they attack, our men have to face fresh Russians each time! The Russians have launched another attack against Von Leys men, he t5hinks he can win this one as well.

Hitler: I see the problem, but the Russians are sub-human, we are the master race, nothing can beat our troops! Von Leys is an excellent officer and I trust his competence.

Keitel: The final news are from Finland, but they are indeed good!

Keitel: General Wenck's men seized Murmansk. This means that one of the major Russian ports have been sealed, this has been a major objective since Barbarossa, and Busse's division, which is part of Wenck's corps managed to do it a few days ago.
There were no casualties because the Russians had left the city undefended.

Hitler: Wunderbar! My compliments to general Wenck!

Keitel: General Von Hengl has also launched an attack against the Russian division in Kola, they are under heavy pressure, and to exploit this general Busse have been ordered to move into Soguj which is the only possible road of retreat still open to the Russians.

Hitler: But they are not encircled at all, I do not understand?

i just realized the amount of work you have to do to make an update. you have to play a week at a time with every pop up set to pause so you can write down all the casualties. you have to write down the names of provinces and generals from across the entire Eastern Front and you have to take screenshots. thats a lot of work o_O but its very appreciated

Nice update. However, I have some small suggestions:

1. Instead of writing about casualties during those small skirmishes, just give the sum of all casualties on a given front in the report.
2. I would like to see some "maps" defining your operational plans. You don't have to create them separately - just paint some arrows in some of your screenshots. It would make things easier to follow.
3. Can you describe your grand strategic plans? I'm wondering what you are trying to achieve

I think I will keep with the casualty counting, but I can start drawing arrows on the maps I am not sure about any current plans, Hitler kind of makes them up as he goes along. For the moment Moscow is the main objective.

*Jodl is back from his visit at the eastern front, he has seen firsthand the difficulty of supplying the different armies in the field. He is back at Wolfschanze and is now going to bring Hitler the weakly report, the week has been just as bloody as the last one, and the Russians have only stepped up their ferocity. Jodl arrives at Hitler's door, he knocks, and enters the room. Hitler is sitting at his fireplace, he turns his head, and smiles, a rare sight in these days.*

Hitler: Jodl, good to see you.

Jodl: Danke Mein Fuhrer, I am glad to be back on our beloved fatherland.

Hitler: And I am glad to have you back! How was Russia?

Jodl: Most unpleasant.

*Hitler laughs, and utters:*

Hitler: Well, what could one expect?

Jodl: Indeed, I have the report for you Mein Fuhrer, do you want to hear it now, or would you prefer to wait until tomorrow?

Hitler: I have not done anything of use today, let's hear it now.

Jodl: Very well Mein Fuhrer, I think I will start with the Tunisian front, here:

Jodl: Rommel has made advances throughout the entire week, his men fought for about 10 days for the province of Souk Ahras, general Von Broich finally seized the area, and sent the French defenders reeling. The battle was not too costly, we lost 328 men, while the British and French lost 654 men, not bad considering that we had to make a river crossing. When Souk Ahras was taken Rommel wasted no time, and he launched three new attacks, the battle of Guelma is still ongoing, however, Rommel has assured me that general Hildebrandt's panzers can break through with ease. The next attack was made by general Crasemann, he was ordered to attack the province of Chetaibi, this was thought to be easy, since only two divisions had been spotted, the area contained 5 divisions, and some of these were fresh American troops. Crasemann called off the attack after a day or so, he lost 780 men, the enemy lost 549 of their men. The final attack made from Souk Ahras was against Annaba, this is an area with a significant port, and the attack was thought to be difficult. That was not the case, general Von Broich broke through within hours, and he lost only 8 men, the enemy lost 113 of theirs. Rommels plans is now to reinforce Souk Ahras, and attack Chetaibi again from three directions, from Souk Ahras, Annaba and Guelma at the same time. Let us hope that the enemy cant reinforce the areas he need to conduct this attack.

Hitler: Rommel has really made gains! I have a suggestion Jodl. I think he would be better in the east.

Jodl: Rommel seems glad with his position at the moment Mein Fuhrer, he wants to finish the business in north Africa. He is, however, asking for reinforcements.

Hitler: I think he must rely on what he already has for the moment.

Jodl: Very well Mein Fuhrer. The battle for control of Gabes has raged for the entire week, and the balance is just as it was a week ago, we have a slight advantage, and Rommel is planning a counterstrike with his southern reserves.

Hitler: Güt, I like offensives!

Jodl: Heil! The final development has been along the northern shore. the British 6. armored division, which is under French control tried to push even further, the division attacked Rumohr's battered division in L'Ariana, Rumohr did not stand much of a chance and fell back, he left behind 166 men, while the enemy lost 128 men. It seemed for a moment as if the enemy tanks would push all the way through to Tunis. It was not to be, one of our garrison brigades reached L'Ariana, and at the same time one of our divisions reached Mateur, this effectively left the enemy encircled. They are now being attacked from three sides, and their defeat seems imminent, this means that 9 000 prisoners will be taken within a short time period.

Hitler: Sehr güt, who is leading the attack against Bizerte?

Jodl: Rommel himself Mein Fuhrer.

Hitler: Haha! Then victory is assured!

Jodl: Indeed it is, Rommel has told me that the total casualty count in Tunisia is 1 282 of our men, compared to 1 444 allied soldiers.

Hitler: Güt, güt, güt...

Jodl: That was all from Rommel, shall we move on to the east Mein Fuhrer?

To aid our men in Primorsko-Ahtarsk we have launched a diversionary attack against Kuscevskaja, general Racovitza has taken his men on to the offensive, he is not too sure about victory, but he thinks that the attack will relieve pressure of Primorsko-Ahtarsk.

Hitler: Güt, I expect this Kuban pocket to succeed.

Jodl: Indeed, the final attack was made against general Balck in Kahmensk-Sahtinskij, the general had no supplies, and still he held the Russians for days. Finally the Russians withdrew, they left behind 539 men, while Balck lost 1 009 of his men.

Hitler: We must do something about this supply situation!

Jodl: Jawohl Mein Fuhrer, that was all from the Kuban, shall we move on to the southern front?

Hitler: Yes, let us hope the technician has done better work with the map...

Jodl: He has Mein Fuhrer, take a look:

Jodl: This area has seen many Russian attacks, early in the week they attacked general Straube in Stayj Oskol, he held on for a long time, but he had to yield in the end, the battle was heavy in lives, and we lost 2 708 men, the Russians lost 794 of theirs. The Russians seemed to gain confidence after this success, and they proceeded to attack Kamenenka, this is still under attack, general Ricagno is holding on, but he does not seem to be too confident when it comes to winning the battle. General Raus tried to take pressure off general Ricagno in Kamenenka, Raus's attack went in against Valujki, the attack did not achieve much, the Russians had many reserves and Raus had to fall back. He left behind 383 men, the Russians lost merely 210.

Jodl: Yes, that might be a solution to the problems. The Russians fianl attack went in at Novy Oskol, general Dietrich was outnumbered by 5 to one, and he was ordered to retreat. He lost 239 men, the enemy was barely scratched, they lost 68 men. Dietrich has proposed a counterstrike, he thinks that when he has retreated, a strike should be made against Novy Oskol.

Hitler: I like the idea, he can proceed when ready.

Jodl: Güt, the attack will have two SS divisions, the 1.SS Liebstandarte, and the 3. SS Totemkopf.

Hitler: Haha! Then victory is assured!

Jodl: I think we can move northwards now, Mein Fuhrer, take a look:

Jodl: This small area has seen six attacks during the last week. The battle of Orel under Reinhard's command held on for 6 days or so, at this point our troops in Orel were ravaged, Reinhard lost 2 733 men, the enemy lost 1 415 of theirs. The victory was not to be, the enemy attacked Orel once again, and at this point only 1 division remained in the city, general Brand held on for a few days, but he eventually fell back, he left behind 419 men, the Russians lost 118 of theirs.

*Hitler seems furious, he rages on about the incompetence of the Whermacht for a few minutes, before finally calming down.*

Hitler: Orel is to be retaken!

Jodl: Jawohl!

Hitler: Very well proceed.

(Reinhard's men fought long for Orel, but in the end the battle was lost.)

Jodl: The Russians continued their attacks by also moving against Karacev, general Leeb was ordered to fall back, he left behind 156 men, the Russians lost 71 of their. The Russians kept up the pressure and attacked Glazunovka, the defenses in this area was strong, and general Von Salmuth held on, he managed to kill 505 Russians, when they retreated it brought joy to the sector, Von Salmuth lost 278 of his men. The Russians did not give up, however, they attacked Zolotuhino, general Hube was massively outnumbered, nevertheless he held on. To support Hube an attack was made against Zmiyevka, Von Salmuth pushed for a few hours, after this the attack was called off. Von Salmuth lost 43 men, while the Russians lost 55. An attack was also made against Kolpny, for the same reason, general Kluge skirmished for a few hours, but called of the attack after a short while. Kluge lost 68 men, while the Russians lost 42 of their men. Encouraged by these attacks Hube managed to halt the Russians, they finally withdrew leaving behind 1561 men, Hube lost 2072 of his men. The Russians have renewed their attaqck against Hubes men in Zolotuhino, I do not think Hube can hold off this attack as well.

Hitler: He must, the area is important if we are to take back Orel!

Jodl: Jawohl Mein Fuhrer! Shall we move on to the central sector?

Hitler: Yes, yes...

Jodl: The central sector has been quiet this week:

Jodl: The desire to seize Sukhinichi continued throughout the entire week. General Schaal started the 2. battle for the region early in the week, halfway through he ran out of supplies, and the attack was called off, he lost 950 men, the Russians lost 556 of their men. At this point general Schlopper attacked Dudorovskiy in support of any future attack made by Schaal. The attack proceeded well at first, but when the Soviets attacked his position in Lhubohna he called off the attack, he left behind764 men, the Russians lost 468 of their men. The Soviets applied further pressure in Belye Beregna, they pushed on for days, and general Grasser's exhausted troops finally gave in, he lost 533 men, the Russians lost 417 of their men. An offensive to take back Belye Beregna has already been launched, general Gollnick is proceeding well, let us hope that his men can win the battle.

Hitler: He must win! We can't afford another defeat.

Jodl: Indeed, but there is some good news. General Schaal attacked Sukhinichi again, and during this third battle he won a clean victory, the battle was quite short, and he lost 741 men, compared to the Russian losses which amounted to 817. As soon as Schaal's divisions occupied the area they were immediately counterattacked, general Schulf F. is holding on, and he presumes that when more troops show up he can win the battle.

Hitler: Sehr güt, I have been waiting for the capture of Sukhinichi! Was that all from the central sector?

Jodl: Yes indeed, I think we can move on to the next sector, here:

Jodl: The week opened with a final Russian attack against Nasva, general Peschel would not give up the sector, and the Russians had to give up their attempts once again, we lost 900 men, the enemy lost 378 before they gave up . At this point we took the initiative in the sector. Our troops started the week with three attacks, we simultaneously attacked Vozvysennost, Peno and Ploskos. The battle of Vozvysennost was quickly won, general Brennecke lost 1 038 of his men, while the Russians lost 990 of their men, The men did not stop there, general Keitel B. assumed command of the troops and led them into Khitoni, the attack is still ongoing, but he is hoping that once that attack is won he can move even further and meet up with the forces on the other side of the "pocket". At more or less the same time the battle of Ploskos was also won. General Arndt finally won his much desired victory, in the process he lost 1227 men, the Russians lost 1476 of their men. The battle of Peno is still being fought, but the advantage is definitely on the side of our troops, general Kempf is known as a good panzer commander, and his abilities will come in handy.

Jodl: The fact that the Russians are still holding at Peno may give us an opportunity to continue our offensive behind them, thus cutting off their route of retreat.

Hitler: I think that after this offensive has been concluded we will have to move some of the divisions to the southern sector.

Jodl: I think that is necessary Mein Fuhrer.

Hitler: Very well move on to the Leningrad front.

Jodl: The enemy have attacked Morozova two times during this week, the third battle is ongoing as we speak. General Hilpert has held the Russians during the last two attacks, the enemy attacks have been poorly executed and they have lost 684 men, our losses are at 437 men. General Wünnenberg have assumed command from Hilpert, and his 4. SS division will probably scare off the Russians. The enemy has also attacked our men in Tosno, Von Leys has held them throughout the week and here too their attacks have been poorly executed. The Russians finally called of their attacks against Von Leys men, but his was only after 1014 of their men had been lost, Von Leys casualties stands at 802 men.

Hitler: The Russians seem desperate to push through to Leningrad, they have not yet realized that it is impossible to break our men!

Jodl: When the battle of Tosno still raged, general Von Both took the opportunity and launched an attack against Leningrad itself. He is proceeding well, the Russians have stacked huge numbers of troops there, and this is now playing against them. At the same time general Wünnenberg attacked the Russians in Nazija, this attack is still being fought , general Wünnenberg is having a hard time commanding two battles at the same time, but I am sure he can do it!

Hitler: So am I, nothing can stop the SS!

Jodl: That was all from this area, shall we move on to Finland?

Hitler: Yes, show me the map.

Jodl: During the early days we managed to win the battle of Kola, general Von Hengl pushed to hard for the Russian defenders, he lost 193 men, the Russians lost 210 of their men before being routed. There was one disappointment, the enemy had another route of retreat, and they used it. The Russians fell back to Tajbola, this led to another battle for the control of this area. Our men led by general Schörner lost only 31 men, the Russians withdrew after losing 45 of their men. We are now moving further south, the ultimate objective is Kandalaksa, if this can be taken then an encirclement of the Russian troops in the Kola are can be totally destroyed. There is one ongoing battle, general Busse's men have been temporarily halted by the Russian defenders of Apatity, however, as soon as more troops arrive victory will be ours!

Hitler: Excellent, the arctic has indeed taken a turn for the better! Since we are done with the entire front, what is the total casualty count?

Jodl: In the east our casualties amount to 27 613 men, the Russians have lost a total number of 19385 men.

Hitler: Nein! We have to do better than that!

Jodl: Yes of course Mein Fuhrer...

Hitler: Our men have to shape up, or else! I long to hear from the Kriegsmarine, any new from admiral Raeder?

Jodl: Admiral Raeder has told me that our sinking's are even higher than last week's total. Our U-boats have operated throughout the Atlantic, and they have sunk a grand total of 59 enemy ships! 46 of these were transports, the remaining 13 were escorts. Or ship losses have sunk, we have lost 5 transports this week, none of our escorts have been lost.

Hitler: Good! The Kriegsmarine have to make up for the shortages of the Whermacht! The Luftwaffe has done well yes?

Jodl: They have bombed enemy shipping both in the Mediterranean, and in the Atlantic, they have also battered the enemy strategic bombers which have entered German airspace.

Hitler: Excellent!

- My problem is lack of supplies, I am building up infrastructure and researching some tech's which will hopefully lower my attrition. Another problem is the red air force, I have way to few interceptors to cover the eastern front. Hopefully things will take a turn for the better

The most useful thing I found in this cases was air superiority. Although these guys also need a lot of supplies, they're mobile, can be redeployed very quickly and do not use up valuable frontline supplies. Furthermore, the tanks will not be that usefull in most theatres, eg Scandinavia, North Africa and all other areas with bad terrain and/or low infrastructure.
