Communitarian!: Important doesn't nessecarily good, though it will be in the eye of the beholder I imagine. Glad you like the footnotes, I'll probably add some to the older posts, doing research can bring up some interesting tid bits, plus some events need to be explained. Louisiana's importance within the CSA will only grow as time goes on, seriously in terms of demographics, industry... but I say too much.
Sandino: Well Berlin getting a bloody nose doesn't kill German nationalism, it simply moves the ball out of Prussia's court - for now. On Cuba, I'll say no word!
Viden: Glad to have you on board
Dr. Gonzo: And how, the results are based on real Austrian war aims in 1866, very much a Prussian Brest-Litovsk. I'm not happy with the section on Germany, I might go back and explain the Treaty in more depth or do a full update on the region in the future.
Tommy4ever: Don't. you. dare!
Sectorknight21: I don't want to give much away but Prussia will spend much of the remaining century licking its wounds, attempting to 'Germanise' her now rather extensive Polish minority and basically being all introverted. After that... who knows.
Andreios II: Welcome! All very interesting ideas. Austria returning to prominence in Germany means she is less interested in the Balkans, which has obvious effects for Russia, the Slavs and the Ottomans. Also the 2nd Empire will now enter something of a victory-crazed 'golden age' so god knows what a Nappy III whoes on a winning streak might try! Meanwhile Britain is looking on nervously, IOTL they weren't keen on anyone winning in 1870 - Dresden has avoided anyone really dominating, but a weak Prussia gives France a free hand elsewhere. Also the Austro-French Alliance (which will be solidified when the Prince Imperial marries Archduchess Gisela in 1876) has deeply upset Italy, and with Prussia knocked out she doesn't have anywhere else to turn, not yet anyway...
