New to this Mod! Back to EU3!!!

hello all! i am one of the oldest members on the forum and have been following all paradox games for a decade... i had lost interest lately in EU3 simply because of the timeline... I was tired of the same 'ol period and had moved instead back to Medieval II: Total War. well, i decided to look into this mod and it seems to offer everything i am looking for... i had a few minor questions....

1) I believe i read this mod begins in 900 AD, is this correct? If so, do we have the option of playing as the Slavic Vikings and Christianizing Russia?

2) Are there historical figures for all parts of the late dark/middle ages?

3) Which factions are currently playable?

4) Are there historical events triggered (ex: Death of Svyatoslav) that effect the course of nations?

if all of these answers are listed elsewhere, feel free to say "read here old man" just please provide a link i don't stare at the computer nearly as much as i did in my youth

oh also.... sorry i didn't mention this in the original post.... i am pretty well versed from the Chronicle, Jacob the Monk, etc... about the Eastern Othodox Church and the Rurikids.... if any of the dev team needs information let me know i would be more than happy to provide it

1) Yes, that is possible. Novgorod for example starts out with slavic culture but norse religion and a national decision allows you to convert to christianity.

2) Certainly not for all parts of the middle ages, but as far as I can tell, all nations start out with the historically correct leader and heir.

3) A lot. Of course the major players of that time frame like the Romans, the Abbasids, the Rus and the Franks received most attention but the smaller nations didn't get cut short. Asia is very detailled to, not like most eurocentric mods or even EU3 itself (considering the upcoming 4th expansion).

4) Yes, there are.

Why don't you just download it and see for yourself? You won't regret it!

thank you very much vanQuish i am planning on downloading the mod as soon as i buy the expansions for EU3... i just had the original EU3, but apparently one needs the latest expansion/patch to play this game?

Consider buying the Complete Edition, as it might be cheaper than buying Napoleons Ambition and In Nomine seperately (Though it does not contain Heir to the Throne)

hey guys! luckily i paid off some stuff so i downloaded not only EU3 Complete and HTTT from gamersgate but also Crusader Kings complete so i am paradox'd out for the moment lol! i am going to install this mod now and see how it works

chances are that you either installed HT3 incorrectly or the beta patch that is needed to play the mod

HTTT loads correctly though i have not tried to start a game... i had to copy/paste over the original files in order to get that to work however (must be a Win 7 thing) because HTTT will not run just inside of the Paradox directory... at the bottom left of the screen there it says ***4.1b, showing that the 4.1 beta patch has indeed been installed.

Oh. I put it in the "...\eu3-complete\mod" directory and it works fine. A few quirks, though (like none of the new provinces belongs to any region, the dynamic cores flag event constantly firing, and general weirdness with the Norway colonizing Iceland event), but it works. Overwriting the vanilla files is probably why you have the CTD. Do a clean install of 4.1b, put TDY in the mod folder, and fire up the launcher. That should work.

well i downloaded 1.02 and put it into the mod folder and....... nothing still... getting a little bit aggravating as i have to unpack it into my download folder and then copy/paste the folder TDY 1.02 into the mod folder.... i am not sure what i'm doing wrong here as there is not an installation guide from what i can see.... maybe someone could give me a little help? running win 7

For me it works fine as always, you take the mod folder and the .mod file, place them in the mod folder, open the game launcher and choose TDY from the mod list.

ahhhh for some reason the .mod file didn't copy in there! now it works just fine except... certain views (terrain mode) is very pixel-ly so to speak... it is almost impossible to play in that view mode... also, are there any plans to change unit names or anything of the sort? i would be happy to help with that as i have my bachelors in European History....

Disable trees. For some reason the game doesn't play mods well when you have trees enabled.
