I'm sure they did not get access to the new map. Only a few developers have access to the new renderer at this moment. The betas are using the new provincial layout, but with the old renderer.

    What about zoom in?
Will province of milan still be so big?
    Will Swizerland have more provinces?

What about it? You still can zoom in.
Yes. And if you think Milan is big, check the provinces in the Middle-East!
No, but we're discussing about it.

but a bigger zoom if you are going to make small provnces.
Comparing Middle-East and Europe, are you serious?
Well, Swizerland should have more provinces cause it is to easy to conquer her.

And now, something different: Who wants to guess what will be the biggest change on the provincial layout compared to MMtM?
So are you going to tell us what will be the biggest change?

Please no more freaking provinces for Switzerland. I saw the screen of big EU Switzerland and there wasn't probably a part of map which i disliked more.

The Swiss confederation was small state in the middle of Europe which stayed neutral for most of the history. We already have too much provinces for the Low countries and Austria. Don't pump up Switzerland.

  10. #230
Small state? Do you know what is a confederation?

And did you realize that we want to avoid scenarios where Switzerland starts expanding so we keep the number of their provinces on the minimum?

No unique systems for unique countries. That is one of the pillars of MM´s philosophy

What about Japan, China and The Holy Roman Empire? They stated they wish to avoid unique systems. Personally unless making such a system is extremely quick and easy, you shouldn't spend time on making a system for Switzerland.

The Sengoku is merely a sub-system. Once Japan is unified, it is disabled.
THe HRE was the most important organization in Europe for 500 years. Noone could ignore in Europe or the Middle-East (Ottomans) what's happening in the HRE. It affects several member states and all the other European countres.
The so-called "China" system doesn't mean only China but more than one third of Asia with several countries.
In addition, all of these groups played very important and globe-forming rule in history, and they affected about 30 "countries" each.

And you want to compare the small, neutral and pacific Switzerland to them? Please...

This is not necessarily correct. But adding a province here would be something that would only be done very carefully... it has more to do with Venice and Austria then Switzerland. Which several of the team are still looking into expanding.

Also, Switzerland "pacified" ... Merse is having flashbacks to World War 2. Please ignore that silly comment.

People conquer the world with Ryoko(sp) with EU series... adding provinces to Switzerland is actually a good thing - one which over half the team thinks needs to be done ... and it would actually allow for both more historical and more plausible outcomes if done correctly.

Sometimes the anti-Austrian feelings I see in this community is as bad as the Balkan squabbling.

Switzerland has always been much more of a non-player than it ought to, in EU3 as in MM. It was very agressive during the 15th century, they even held on Milan for a while!
