Hello,

It is because it would be very strange to have a Croatia who fights for liberty but has the part-republican yugo flag as stateflag.
Because we can't change the game while in-game we use the countries modern flag or the flags in the 90's (Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro).
Hopefully if we convert this mod to Darkest Hour we can fix this and give the countries the right flags and the right periods.

One of the great things with Darkest Hour is the new flag system where you can change the flag of a country via event in-game.
That means that we must start converting all socialist flags for hoi. But does somebody know what flag style we are using? IIRC TeutenburgerW made our flags, or maybe it was Vax.

They are the basic HoI flag style. I would recommend to use the EU3+HoI like DH use, it looks much better.

The shields and flags were created by TeutenburgerW. He tried to imitate AoD's shield style, making them darker and more grayish.

What do you think of the idea that every country start with their communist federal flag? Then when the independence is completed the country gets a event like "It's time to change flag"?

Also I see that all flags aren't in the same style. I think we should find somebody who can change them into the same style. In the post above this one you can see all the styles that exists.

I would like this too. I a not sure that in the time frame flags weren't changed already but with nice event description that can be managed.
If you are looking to change flags, since we have 3 Serb states in Croatia we would need 3 flags. I don't believe they ever had actual flags so if you can dig out some other 'version' of the flag and give one to West/ and East Slavonia? Maybe some holding 4Cs?

I just have to warn you that there is a bit of work to get this done. It looks like we have to create a whole new country but at least in case of Bosnia that seems more then justified. Ministers/leaders/flags, etc all change after war kicks off.

But is it not possible just to change the flag without creating a whole new country? I thought that was one of the big improvements with Darkest Hour, that you could via event change flag(fascist, communist, liberal flag for one country)?

I will look for some Krajina/Serbian flags, but later when we have completed some of the more important things.

I promise I'll try and look on the forums to check what is possible. I haven't tried so I probably shouldn't comment. I have to start taking notes of things I've promised!

As for the flag... just randomly pick any other Serb flag that is not already used. Agree it isn't urgent.

For the flags you should check the mixed mod, it has loads of flag and name change script. I bet we can take inspiration if we ask the owner.

Ok. We need new graphics for the icon/models. This is the style I really like but wouldn't be able to match the skill of these guys if my life depended on it.

So please let me know what you think we should do. I can provide the list of models for each unit type.

I got the Photoshop templates for these so it wouldn't be to hard to change/create the other division types. Just change the picture and maybe brighten them up a bit. What do you guys think?

Also as you can see there is a little Serbian flag in the top left corner. Would it be possible to have this for all countries or is it to hard to code?

Sure if he wants but I could also do that, it's not so hard, the only thing I need is good pictures in high resolution.

Have a go at it then. Just make sure you colour-saturate the icon as the last step. Gxf looks much nicer them. If you don't mind showing me a pic for a model before do actual work... please .
