What does the reliability stat on Generals actually do?

It helps units be less likely to revolt, or at least it was Victoria I. I assume that it is true for Victoria 2 as well.

Yup. You are right. Check out the soldier pops from the provinces that the troops in the general's army has and you'll see what reliability does.

It's true in V2 but was that really the case in V1? At least there, it also had something to do with attrition?

It lowers (or raises) the losses a pop takes from combat too.

Yeah, all new to me too! Now I'll find reliability generals a bit more useful! At what proportion does it reduce/increase losses?
