OTOH, the last revolutionaries to come up with a new calender were the bourgeoisie French in the 1790s. So we're replacing a religious idea with a bourgeoisie idea.

Here's an idea: 13 months of 28 days each, plus Workers' Day taking place every year on the summer solstice, outside of any month or week (though technically in the very middle of the seventh month). The new year is also to be moved to the winter solstice. To maintain alignment with the solar year, the leap day is moved to the final day before the new year (equivalent of December 20) and renamed Revolution Day. It is also outside of any month or week. Pick a day and I'll convert it to this new calendar. Just don't ask me about names.
