If you grab the updated files that are in the swap thread (the Jul17 Events one), there's a fix for the Boer Exodus in there.

this is just a nit-picky thing, but:

When playing as Britain and you take Columbia off of Americans (Washington, Oregon, Idaho) and lay claims to it via that event that fires in the 1840s. This isn't the issue.

The thing is, is that when you release Canada around that 1867 mark, Canada makes off with those 3 states so there's Upper-Canada and those three states and between that there's Rupert's Land and Columbia. Now in my opinion, shouldn't those 3 states count as part of Columbia, and be added to Canada the same way that Columbia is? Also, when the Rupert's Land Sale event fires, and if you own Alaska (which i did, my Canada is sexy), Alaska is taken by Canada. Now, I know that there is the event that addresses Alaska specifically, but it never appears to fire because Ruperts Land always fires before it. Would it be possible to make it so that the Rupert's Land purchase only affects Rupert's Land? And then separate events for Columbia (incl. "Greater" Columbia) and Alaska?

Another thing too, this time concerning New Zealand.

Is there an event (I've honestly not checked) that grants one the ability to release New Zealand to Australia as 2 extra states? If not, I believe that there should be, since before the founding of the Australian Commonwealth, there was the Federal Council of Australasia, made up of the Australian colonies and New Zealand that acted as a colonial government. If an event was implemented to allow New Zealand to unite with Australia, then I believe that Maori should be added as an accepted culture, as this was a bargaining chip almost, as the New Zealanders were (and still are to an extent) concerned that since Australia did not award the natives any priveliges near that of the Maori, that racist laws and violence would be implemented. The Australian government actually gave Maori's the right to vote in 1902, 60 years before the Aborigines were allowed to vote at a Federal level.

While the likelihood of the 2 nations uniting was unlikely, it should still be represented. If there is added an AI success chance, it should probably be something like 20% to yes.

Just some suggestions! Great mod, still love it to death!

Ah. That just means I forgot to remove the application of Canadian cores from the Oregon Treaty chain.

I could make an event for both New Zealand and Australia to consider it once they're released. That wouldn't be difficult at all.

That's correct, New Zealand was originally in the talks for Federation of Australia as well as Nauru but both withdrew at the same time due to the way Australians treated their indigenous folk. Perhaps an event that fires randomly that stops that would be interesting. Maybe history decided to change.

I was just wondering, does Vietnam exist in any form? It would be a nice decision for Indochina, maybe a first step towards a union there like Turkmenistan?

Hiya, I'm new to this mod and Vicky 2 in general. I can say that the game is more addicting than EU3, but still unsure if it's the good kind of addiction

Anyway, I have a quick suggestion. Since Indonesia is in the mod, I'm interested to what kind of flags they got for the different government type. However, I think the flags look off, especially the communist one.

Therefore, I suggest the following flags:

    Communist:

This was the PKI flag, the once largest communist party in Indonesia.

    Fascism:

The National Emblem on black should represent the fascism ideology more than the random star and cresent that look eerily close to the Masyumi party flag.

    Monarchy:

The Presidential Standard would represent the monarchy better imo. It is designed in the style of the traditional monarchical flag.

Sorry if this has already been posted but....

For 'default' conservatism, please please PLEASE make it interventionism not state-capitalism. Makes the late game very difficult.

For republics, add the term 'partial democracy' as the equivalent to 'prussian constitutionalism.'

Give social liberals their own parties when possible, i.e. Populist Party in the United States

Make the unemployed default more often to communism instead of just fascism

Separatist parties that press for autonomy instead of just events, i.e. bloc quebecois and basque parties

Nerf CON in the late game....it always seems to be stuck at 10 for the last 30 years of the game

Oh yeah and I made some parties for Congress Poland/Poznan/Poland:

    Code:

I really like your 'spread democracy' events, maybe one where you can pressure neighbors to release nations too, like the congress of berlin for fallen superpowers?

add 5 or 10 years on each end? maybe? You could make some of your late inventions an extra technology in each category, because you guys have a lot

Feel free to blow off my suggestions too, it's a great fantastic mod right now

Adding time onto the beginning is way harder than it seems, you have to make a whole new scenario and make old events compatible with the earlier starting point, and PDM has a lot of events.

May I suggest adding some Spanish flu events for after a great war.

Screw flu events there is a reason nas took them out in the first place, they suck and add nothing to the game other than frustration

Why was Basotho's name changed to Basutoland? That name is crap; it's just what the British called the kingdom, not its real name. I mean, we don't call the Zulu state "Zululand", or the Matabele state "Matabeleland", even though those were the names that the Colonial authorities referred to them as. I think it should just be changed back to just Basotho.

Ok, here is my idea for improving the Arab chain further, so, as long as the Turkish revolters don’t take over, and the tazimat reforms are not totally completed, this event will only fire in the case of the Ottomans losing control of their Arab areas via a great war or dismantling war

So, in the case of a reformist or Turkish centred government (where they lost to Turkish nationals), the Arab Awakening event will fire, that adds a militancy bonus much like the current Arab revolt event, although you don’t lose the accepted cultures. Some will start to demand independence, and there will be a few local insurrections here and there, but that is more about achieving independence from the ottomans more than anything else.

Now, here is where it differs, the Arab revolt will take place if the ottomans are in a great war and in another countries sphere, they have a reformist or the Turkish nationals won, or pan-Arabism is formed at gunpoint. How it is formed at gunpoint is if one Arab country is at war with the ottomans in a dismantling or Great War or an entire country of cores is occupied by foreign forces (such as the French taking Syria, the brits taking Palestine. At that point, the country is force released and joins the war, and it tag switches to “pan-Arabia”

Now the Pan Arabia will automatically absorb all Arab countries currently at war with the ottomans with a 95% acceptance chance for the other Arab countries. If a whole area is taken from the ottomans, the whole area is absorbed by the pan-Arab state and visa versa if the ottomans take the area. Eventually, either the movement fails and is annexed, and afterwards the ottomans move toward reconciliation, or the ottomans lose the Great War. If the ottomans lose the Great War, pan Arabia gains cores on all “Arab” areas.

Now at this point the Great Powers can either choose to divide it and mandate it, but that will greatly increase unrest, leading to pan-national revolts, although otherwise it will remain largely the same, or the great powers leave it be, which will cause it to send out an annexation offer to other Arab states. Either way, pan-Arabia cores are spread to all provinces.

Its very rough, but the Arabs remained largely loyal IRL until the brits said “free yourselves or you die” so I think this is a decent portrayal, although I don’t know how practical it is. I studied this subject (early modern history of the ottomans) at the top college in the capital of turkey, Ankara, so I at least believe I know a decent amount on the subject

Also, after forgetting to create it time and time again, here are my proposed flavour events and decisions for the UK monarchy. First off, if the monarchy is overthrown before any of the Dominions are released, they should be released as democracies, as currently they release as HM governments no matter what. Now, what happens in the case of a revolution in GB is that all of the dominions that exist are freed from their dominion status.
An event will then fire for the largest dominion, basically asking if it wants to become the new head of the British monarchy. Accepting will give you some prestige, but will greatly damage relations with GB, it can choose to sever ties with GB, which sets the government to a democracy, or it can choose to align with GB, it becomes a sphered ally of GB. If it is a GP and accepts, an event will fire offering dominion status for the other former dominions, with a 90% chance of them accepting. If it not a GP, it just grants an alliance, military access, relation boost and some prestige.
Now those who don’t accept can either become a republic, or align with GB, keep in mind if it is overthrown to become a communist dictatorship and the current government is not communist, they will have a greatly decreased chance or aligning with GB. Basically, this starts a cold war between the two countries, with GB gaining a puppet CB on all those who don’t accept. If the head ever becomes a GP, they will have an event that basically starts a war between the two countries, and if they win the monarchy is restored.
If it is non-democratic, and places like Scotland and Wales may attempt to break off, and they would be granted dominion status if they lose the war, as well as all colonies being taken by the new head of the monarchy. If the UK wins, they annex the various monarchist states outright.

Also, on another note, reduce the colony concession cb to 5 infamy, I dont think if 3 colonies were anenxed the whole world would be trying to destroy whoever took them, 6 or 7 though is realistic

Should Fascist and Communist dictatorships have such problems with political movements? IMO they should both have ways of reducing political reform desire (both can pass social reforms, and should) or extra suppression points. They are after all, totalitarian states - having them act almost the same as absolute monarchies is missing the point of their propaganda machines and mass support.

As well, once a communist party has taken power, there should be more bonuses for pops to convert to that ideology and far less to liberal. Because all political reforms have been reversed, liberals kick into overdrive and make up more than half the population. Maybe the modifiers that add liberal alignment should require the government not to be communist or fascist.

    Fair one.
For every subtle and complicated question, there is a simple and straightforward answer, which is wrong.

Naselus, just had a thought about the inability to add more goods to the game. How about just eliminate Barrels (Tanks)? I mean they've always been pretty useless, the AI hardly ever builds the Barrel Factory and neither does the Capi AI, and even if they do somehow end up with one, I don't think I've ever seen an AI country field a Tank army. In fact Barrels as they currently are just give an advantage to the player, who will always seek to build them late game and will field effective Tank units.

It's been suggested before, by myself and others, that Tanks should just require Automobiles to build, since historically most tanks in the world wars were built in converted car factories, not dedicated tank factories. Making that change would also allow more countries to field tanks as they wouldn't be such a rare good and eliminate the unfair player advantage.

Then you'd at least have one more slot in which to put a new good.

Then you'd at least have one more slot in which to put a new good.
I agree, or maybe merge it with the plane factory/product, rename it "motorized weapon platforms" or something like that. But the first option does seem like the better one, and also maybe add some techs to make planes super weak at the start, but make them more and more powerful as the game goes one, and if by 1935 you are at war, a well grouped division of tanks, guards, art, and planes will just murder everybody elses face ^-^

In fact Barrels as they currently are just give an advantage to the player, who will always seek to build them late game and will field effective Tank units.

I'd really rather not, tbh. It's generally been my policy to minimize competition between government and POP expenditure where possible (to avoid the twenty-year clipper build time problem).

    We already did that...
For every subtle and complicated question, there is a simple and straightforward answer, which is wrong.

I should clarify, right now the planes kind of feel that they are best for capturing provinces, its the tank/art/guard combo that is best, with planes being an afterthought, although I guess it does not really deserve a rebalance because there is no real need because you can already destroy everything.
