    3) Named after prestigious family member on mother's side
    4) Named after a saint or other Christian (or primary religion) figure
    5) Completely random new name of primary culture

And I'm thinking the naming system would only be for males. Females would just be given a random name of that person's culture like in CK1.
Oh my god! I love this idea! Wonderful!

Me too. Should be easy to implement, and it would add simply be awesome.

I like this too a lot, but when the game already has to combine a firs tname with the dynasty name wouldnt it be the same effort if you just let yourself type in the name you want?

Actually it would probably be easier than if the game had to check who all those guys like most prestigous members of family were in the game files.

On the other hand i forgot that would "force" the AI to take a plausible name too, that surely might be worth the hassle.

I wouldn't object to having a choice of naming the child whatever you want, but I think having a letter/event system that gives you choices is a nice one, like others have mentioned as well.

I hope we do see plausible names for Kings/Emperors, sure from time to time they can have off-the-wall names which don't make sense, but I think for the most part it would be nice if there was a pattern (ie, Francis IV, King of France).
