Vietnam, the Philippines... you have to complete the triangle with some Chinese concession :D

to get Hong Kong this soon would be impossible for Spain, he should focus on retaking the americas, starting with Colombia/Panama then going for the central states and haiti

Is this not against the treaty of tordesillas? :p

 I wonder how Spain would react if the Portuguese brought this up. :p

Are you going to consider my ideas to create Carlist vassals for the Philippines and the Celtic Nations?

I see no reason to release the Philippines. The islands are my most valuable colony, they contain lots of Spaniards (colonial immigration + silly assimiliation) and later in the game they become states.

By ''the Celtic Nations'' I assume you mean Scotland and Ireland. Well making them vassals would involve pointless wars with the British and would provide little benefit for Spain.

Spain has come along very nicely. Any stirrings of liberal and/or socialist sentiment, or is everyone well-paid and content?

In the next Spain update (we have a RotW update before it) you shall see a bit of liberal backlash against Carlos

This is a really nice AAR. I'm looking forward to where Spain will look to expand next.

As am I. :).

I hope you continue to view, comment and enjoy my AAR.

Really good AAR again. I will be following.

:)

Attacking China might be a decent idea, but throughout this game I had to deal with severly rationed bb so I tried to keep my annexations concentrated on the most valuable lands to me.

As I've said outside of the Panama Canal I won't be going for any land on the American mainland. Instead I will attempt to SoI the old Empire.

What about provinces/isles held by UK and such, which were once spanish and are not a nation or can't be released as one?

The Celtic Nations actually include . . .

-Ireland
-Scotland
-Wales
-Cornwall
-Brittany
-Galicia
-Asturias

I don't see a reason to free celts or anything, except if Spain later gets into a war with UK, then requesting a free Scotland would actually benefit Spain later as it means a safe place to land troops and invade England from in case of second war, this makes Scotland more valuable than Ireland, but probably a spanish allied Canada would be of more value in the long run

Nice save of the economy, is the main problem with the factories they haven't (large)enough pops to support or are the markets overflowing?

Hi,

another great AAR by you! I was attentivly (and with great pleasure) following your "AEIOU".

How do you plan to colonize? More like the Portugese with lots of tiny holdings (safe Brazil) nearly everywhere or more "Spanish", meaning: fewer, but larger holdings?

And as I'm at moment more interested in the "politics" features of V2, could you give us an insight on Spain's political development? Thank you kindly in advance.

Yours,
AdL

First off YAY! :D 10,000 views! :D

Second off Yay :D more comments! :)

They have a better chance of being reclaimed but again I'm not terribly keen on going to war with the British collosus.

I'm not sure that Galicia or Asturias are Celtic and of the others only Scotland and Ireland are releaseable and they've already been discussed.

Can I ask why you have such a vested interest in the Celtic nations anyway? :p

I realise the benefits but I don't want to get involved in conflicts with the Brits. Also, being a Unionist Scot I die a little inside eveyr time I see Scotland released in V2. :p

In V2 what I've got so far isn't bad. As with all V2 games industrialisation really takes off with RGOs become full - at which stage industrial growth becomes almost unmanageable high.

Thanks for your kind words.

As for colonising I guess I'm going for the 'Spanish' variety in that I'll look to build a few large chunks. Meanwhile I'm not sure if I have enough screens of the political tab but I'll try my best with the descriptions.

Asturias and Galicia celtic nations?
Also, Carlos V would never realease the Filipinas!:p
Nice AAR, looking forward to new updates

I agree. But Carlos is dead.

Luckily his succesor doesn't suffer from learning difficulties and will therefore have no desire to guve up those precious islands. :p
