America shouldn't feel bad, even the mighty China (whose overall score is triple anyone else and higher then all the other great powers combined) can't win a war in the middle east.

I'm more perplexed by how the second war came about... were you actually playing as Scandinavia or did that really happen? 0_o

I see plenty of 'strange' things going on the country list, like Poland, Byzantines, Scotland, Lombardia, Dulkadir. My guess is he's playing either a converted map from EU3/CK2 or a mod.

Liborio got it right. I am playing a lean back, where I played all of CKII in observe mode, and have been bouncing around super small countries in EUIII and Vicky 2.

Denmark, Scotland, Byzantium and Pisa were the 4 colonial powers in EUIII. When Sweden ended up unifying Scandinavia, all of Danish North America became a Scandinavian colony, who is hoping to expand into America. So based on the current map, the war isn't too odd.

A world map would be interesting...
I'll post one at the end of the game.

This was my first mega-campaign leanback, a game were I just sat around and watched, played CK in Observer mode, and then bounced around all the small powers in EUIII and Vicky 2.

The notable highlights in CKII were the early expansion of almoravid to unify Spain, only to end up being annexed by France. The HRE unifying the Middle East due to a series of Crusades, the 222 year civil war in England, which saw the crowning of ~40 different kings across 6 different dynasties, and the Republic of Pisa taking land in Ukraine, Northern Russia, Portugal, Ireland North Africa and Turkey near the end of the game.

The notable highlights of EUIII were the Byzantium Blobing, France actually losing land in Europe, Poland going from a 3 territory nation bordering the Golden Horde to becoming the largest nation in Europe and Portugal controlling almost all of South America despite getting Quest for the New World 120 years after England and Denmark. Since Scotland controlled most of England it wasn't a surprise to see them take most of Eastern North America. Mutapu managed to unify almost the entire east coast of Africa.

The notable highlights of Vicky 2 were the sudden Byzantium colony craze, were all the uncolonized land outside of Africa was taken by them, the miracle of China (during the 1860s and 70s China gained 1100 industry and 2300 military score to become the undisputed world power, were they would remain till the end of the game), the Italian Unification (Which was unusual in the sense that Lombardy, the largest country in Italy didn't join the union, but Portugal, Tunisia and Mexico, countries that had no land in Italy and were in no way vassals of Italian powers, did join. Creating the country that would end up being in 2nd place at games end). We saw the triumph of liberalism, as neither fascism (only Japan, Frankfurt and Korea) nor socialism (only Hungary) nor communism (nobody) gained a foot hold in the game. As China, Poland, France and Italy all had Liberal Parties/Factions for most of the game, I would call it an unusually liberal filled game. This was also the first time I have seen a Vicky 2 game that there were 0 great wars.

Spoiler for the map

Does DH have a mod to convert Vicky games? HOI3 is too early in development for it to work in my oppinion.

My biggest problem with using DH or HOI3 to continue the story is that there hasn't been any major wars. Only twice thus far in Vicky 2 have 2 great powers fought a war against each other:

The first was the Chinese War for Crimean Freedom, were China took a territory off Dulkadair, who at the time was a Byzantine vassal.

The second was the Scottish-Scandinavia Colony War which resulted in Scandinavia ceding Texas to Scotland, which made the borders of North America that much uglier. I was really tempted to join the game as Scandinavia and make it so the Scotts would lose.

At the moment, other then in Germany (where the fragments of the HRE are fighting) nobody is fighting. Its been a rather peaceful game, so I don't see a sudden world war escalating out of it, so no point in converting to a world war simulator.

Upload it to an image hosting site, like tinypic or photobucket. You may want to double check the file size first.

The German Austria is because of the converter. If Austria owned land at the start of the conversion, but then lost the land to Germany, it would now be considered German Austria.

In my game (shown above) Mexico was called Scandinavian Denmark and South America was called Italian Portugal.

So while I was busy cheating and focusing on North America in one of my bored games in the Napoleon's Legacy mod as Hudson's Bay Company, I thought I should check up on Europe.

Well, okay then...

What in the name of ... is this. This is ridiculous. GOD! I was just about to get ready for dinner and then this.

I realize this isn't all that strange because I am directly responsible for all of it, but I figured it was at least worth sharing. As an independent CSA I tried to grab a colony or two in southern Africa. One thing led to another, and before long:

Needless to say, I got a bit carried away...
