I guess it should be research points per day. Otherwise it would take only 140 years for your first tech to be developed

All those black bits on the world map look very ugly, I assume that's territory uncontrolled by any country?

Please remind me why 100% spendings towards education are no longer a no-brainer? I've forgotte what other drawback (apart from higher costs, which was already an issue in Vicky) it has...

and thus drop my taxes, giving particular breaks to the middle classes, who currently seem to be struggling a bit to make their budgets cover their income.
    I vote OHgamer for President!

Great details on getting a good start on the game - I love these tutorial style AARs!

I too am curious why you don't just fund education and administration to 100%

I really should not answer questions in OHGamers thread but... Spending does not directly equal a benefit to literacy. You can not just throw money and and get instant results.

Instead you will need to encourage POPs to become clergy. However, there is an "optimal" amount of clergy to have both in terms of in game effect and not trashing the rest of your economy. If you manage to get enough clergy POPs then it is likely you would want to lower your spending to reduce costs while sustaining their numbers.

Perhaps giving bigger funding attracts more pops to convert to clergymen and bureaucrats and this would weaken the industrial sector?

can't see screens yet but looks to be a very interesting and planned out AAR, I'm sure I'll learn a lot from it (not that I won't learn anything from Peekee's but his playstyle is closer to mine (conquer all!) so I'll discover by myself soon enough ehhe (though I don't conquer the world with only HQ units )

    Awesome OHGamer!

Question: It seems Tunis has quite an impressive prestige/industry/military score. Much higher than e.g. Switzerland. Is that historical?

    I'm sure he'll forgive you

OK, that is good concept and I can undestand it. I just hope there is some way for me to see the effect clergy has. Like average literacy increase in whole nation and individual states.

And yet Tunis is far behind Switzerland in the overall ranking.

Nice start. Can't wait for the next episode.
Just a short word on french units names, there were a mistake in V1 and i think it's there again, there is no "u" in the french word "Garde", so it should be "Garde Royale" and "Cavalerie de la Garde". And also you should say Garnison de Bourbon instead of "du" (or keep "du" if you ban the legitismist leader in Indian Ocean and set a garrison there to look for him).

Edit : and i don't know how to exactly explain it but people say Garnison de XXX assuming that XXX is a mainland region instead of Garnison du/de la/l' XXX. That's not incorrect but it's odd.
