How does AI use this new units/techs? Does it research them and know how to use them (combining mot. artilerry with motorised units and so on)?

I can't answer that since the Semper Fi AI is still on beta stage (see the Lothos advances in this matter). I believe AI will randomly search and build the tech and units. I can't assure you that urban specialized units will be used in urban terrain but I believe that mot. will go with mot. etc.

As you can find in most of the other game DLC, the new shiny stuff is for the player, not the AI. :)

This is why I spend a lot of time in balance, in order to avoid instant-win units. Most of them have advantages and drawbacks (supply consumption or attack malus for instance).

I never take break, I am a modder. :cool:

This should work on any unmodded version of SF. If not I believe Paradox or I will have to make some compatibility patch.
 
How very true. How many minutes after the SF release did you upload the first compatible beta version of I.C.E.? :)

I don't think minute is the relevant scale. Try nanoseconds. :D (few hours actually, I had to sleep)
 
So far on SF+latest lua, handsoff as germany (but Ai controlled for the purpose to see how this DLC is working), research(AI) is going fine, waiting to see if there is any building by AI. And just to say it looks very good:) And is very cool thing by PI too:)(as i have been playing some ICE, from time to time) (Escort fighter's YEY).

(Only weird thing is the flag, but that is more about why using anything else than the vanilla flag at all, and not to start anything on that front)

Only one question though, how would this go with bug reporting(but i guess it goes under modded).
 
Does this DLC change the checksum? I think of that because of multiplayer matches. Thanks for your answer!
 
I am more than happy to buy something that supports the guys like Devildread who voluntarilly give up their time to make a great game even better.

Thanks for all your great work DD, and thanks to Paradox as well for giving these guys a way to make some money for their efforts. :)

While I have NO IDEA how checksum is calculated, I'm quite sure it does change it. I mean you can't have a player that can research and use light infantry and a player who can't in one MP game, right? :)
 
It uses the mod directory so you can play vanilla with those who haven't the DLC be and play the DLC in solo or with the great guyz who have bought it.

Just wondering:

- Will the upgrades be available with these new units? (eg. from AA to motorized AA)

- Will the AI build the units? (I know that they should research them as the LUA files only have a list to ignore techs, so these new techs shouldn't be on the ignore list)

And finally in future patches of SF, will the new units/techs be altered and/or the way the AI uses them?
