1531 - 1539 : refoundation

2) The conquest of Nevers
The first decision made by Edward was to give a common goal to all the Kingdoms, and also give a feeling of friendship that the citizens of the Kingdoms did not had for a long time.
He brought together an army constituted of troops from Scotland, Ireland, England and France to conquer the long time claimed but never taken independant province of Nevers.
The war ended in October 1533.
France has never been more unified
3) The first attempt to create a Bill of rights
Even with the war on Nevers going on, Edward knew he had to do a lot more to assure peace inside the Kingdoms.
During the first six months of his reign, he spent lot of time in the four parliaments, and also with religious leaders from the three sides. He knew he could not impose a choice of religion as the parliaments were split two versus two.
In May 1533, he began to propose the idea of a "Bill of rights" that would assure religious freedom to every Christian in the Kingdoms. However he did not had the power to make it pass. That was the parliaments' job.
After weeks of work, the first Parliament to adopt its "Bill of rights" for his Kingdom was Scotland. In December, the four Kingdoms had their versions of their "Bill of rights" (which only assured a partial religious Freedom. However this was still revolutionary by this time !)
The Bill of Rights are accepted in 1533
II) Colonial policies
1) Foundation of the colonies of Virginia, North and South Carolina
In 1531, the UKs were strongly enough implanted in North America. It was now possible for them to begin to create brand new settlements.
The general put in charge of the Colonies of North America by the Congress (Geoffrey Clinton) considered that the first priority was open open more largely North America to Europe. With two ports, the UKs colonies there were only territories hold without real connextions with Europe. Trade was to be developped if settlers wanted to begin to live better and have stronger ties to civilized places.
That is why he decided to open the creation of three settlements in what are today Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
2) Foundation of the colony of South Africa
In 1532, the road was open to allow settlers to go in Africa.
As the Edward was about to take the power, he was begining to give early orders. It was on his order that three waves of settlers left the UKs to found the colony of South Africa.
3) The war against the Huron tribes
In October 1536, when the French Conquistador Robert Dampied discovered the Huron territories North of the Great Lakes, Edward immediatly sent the word : this was a perfect opportunity to extend quickly the UKs territories in America, which was very important since Castille had just conquered Central America three years ago.
In June 1537, the chief of the Huron tribes surrendered and accepted to obey to the UKs.
