Sicilian Pastorale - Sicily HTTT AAR

Anno Domino 1553​

As you can see the world is divided between nations. Many great empires have risen and fallen. The new world is being exploited by the European powers while the Asian nations fight for survival in the eve of European arrival. The Great Sand Brown Persian Empire dominates Middle East and Asia together with the Brown Middle Kingdom of China. When Ottoman Empire was driven out from Turkey and the Holy Land they moved up north to Russia and conquered the lands of Golden Horde together with the Persians. Muscovy borders them in the north, they fight a constant battle between the Finns and the Castillian colony of Northern Europe. Sweden controls both Norway and Denmark except Oslo which is currently hold by the King of Norway Olav Pålme.

Central Europe is mainly divided between small dukedoms and kingdoms. The biggest players there are Brandenburg being the current Holy Roman Emperor, Grand Duchy of Austria, Brittany and the Sicilian Empire. Sicily dominates Holy Land, Greece, Italian Peninsula and Egypt, while controlling Aragon as an vassal. Also Sicily has gained lots of land in India after the recent war of the India Trading Company. Castille is the dominant power in the Iberian peninsula who has driven the Portuguese out of the continent to Africa and South-, Central- And North America. In the British Isles Great Britain controls the south while Scotland remains independent in the north. A small kingdom of Ireland has established itself on the island of Ireland.

In the New World many nations are fighting over land and resources. Many nations who are small and big. In North America the colony holders are, Great Britain, Brittany, Ireland, Sicily, Castille, Portugal. Many native nations has been conquered except the Iroquois. In Central America and the Caribbean the main powers are Sicily and Portugal, while Britain controls few smaller island. The power of Sicily also extends to Northern coast of South America. But there is also a large Castillian, Portuguese and British presence there. Also an small Inca nation remains untouched in the mountains.

Africa is dominated by the Portuguese and is mainly left untouched by the others.

The dark green is Sicily and the little light green is Portugal. The blue in Sweden is Sweden but the blue in Asia is not Sweden.

Final deeds of the Corleone Emperor​

After foothold in India was secured Martino laid his eyes upon Europe and the Holy Roman Empire that had been torn apart by religious wars. Many states had perished, many of them members some of them even electors. Georg Willem, King of Brandenburg and the current Emperor had for long tried to establish a common religion in the HRE but the Excommunicated heretic Grand Duke of Austria had meddled with the minds of the kings and queens of Europe to oppose the Emperor. Austria had even declared war upon the Emperor and the Holy Roman Empire was in chaos.

Martino didn't like this at all and now that war was going on between Austria and the Emperor, he decided to take advantage of this chaos and make some of the electors vassals of Sicily. By force if necessary. Queen of Auvergne was one of those that peacefully agreed to become vassal of Sicily. Baden in the other hand refused and Martino was forced to take them by force. But little did he know that the Portuguese were protecting the heretics in Baden and when they heard about the war they went mad and attacked the colonies of Sicily. Martino saw this as an opportunity to regain the lost colonies in Mexico and to drive out Portuguese out of Europe once and for all.


The fight lasted for many years until October 4th 1592 Portugal accepted the peace where they were to give up Central America, Manhattan and colonies north of that and their final European stronghold Lisbon. Martino had once again won a great battle and he had secured a place in the HRE for Sicily.

But he was getting old and the next day he passed away in Rome leaving the throne for his daughter Maria. Maria wanted her name as the Empress to be Maria III Colonna in the honor of the past kings of Sicily.

Revolution and Liberation​

Just like those that had ruled Sicily before her Maria III wanted to invest in an bigger army when she managed to revolutionize the agricultural production.


In Great Britain William IV Tudor rose to power and had immediately started to make Great Britain an colonial power in the New World.


Sweden had unlawfully attacked Liguria and seized. Maria III saw this an chance to reclaim the lost province and declared war on Sweden. For our luck Great Britain was too busy fighting Spain to intervene in this war. And soon Liguria was liberated and seized by Sicily.

End of the Sicilian Crusade​

Few months after the victory over Sweden news about conversion reached Maria III from all over the Sicilian possessions.


Even though Sicily had liberated Liguria and Nice from the foreign hands. Aquilia wanted it back. So with the help of King of Ireland and the Queen of Brittany they tried to use the situation in their advantage but little did Aquilia knew that not all Sicilian armies and navies were fighting in the east against the Muslims. After the battle at the gulf of Venice where Aquilias navy was destroyed the whole nation was forced under Sicilian rule.


The Crusaders in Africa managed to defeat the Orthodox Kingdom of Ethiopia.



Only Brittany and Ireland were left after Aquilia surrendered. Ireland had allready lost her colonies to Sicilian colonial army in North America. Queen of Brittany knew that if they would continue fighting against Sicily they would be soon attacked trough Burgundy that was a close friend to Sicily and even the rest of the HRE could soon join in. So the Queen decided to propose white peace with the Empress Maria III. The peace was accepted and Ireland was left alone, defenseless.


Soon the Sicilian armies reached the coast of Ireland and began their assault.


Few months later the city of Munster fell and Irish armies were forced to retreat to the north from the feet of the advancing Sicilian armies.


In Lorraine an Colonnian duke rose to the throne. Maria III was more than happy to see her cousin in power.


Only two years after the start of the war Ireland surrendered, giving up her status as an independent Kingdom to Sicily. Maria III was now known as Empress of Three Sicilies, Queen of Jerusalem, Queen of Aragon, Queen of Ireland, Queen of Egypt.

Formation of Italian Empire and Holy Roman Empress​

Maria III wanted to have good relations with the powers of Holy Roman Empire and thus many talks were held between Sicily and Brandenburg to keep the relations warm.


In 1603 Mecca the holy city of Muslims was converted to Reformist faith.


In September 1604 Maria III Colonna, Empress of Three Sicilies was crowned as the first Holy Roman Empress.


In order to ensure the security and continuing stability, Empire of Three Sicilies was reorganized into the first Italian Empire, for a safe and secure society which Maria III assures you will last for ten thousand years.

Slaves of the Holy Roman Empire​

Now that the Italian Empire was at peace it was time to expand the colonies to Africa. One vital site for the trade route to India was around Africa. There ships had to travelled long distance without a safe harbour to replenish their supplies on. So Maria III ordered an expedition to the Cape region to conquer it and start an trade post there. The region was full of natives but the expedition team found a good way to make profit with them. They founded the first slave trading company in the Italian Empire.


Even though HRE was now in Sicilian hands many Kingdoms and Duchies were still under occupation of foreign rulers and one of those were Brittany.


HRE armies were mostly victorious but it took them almost a year to defeat the Breton armies.


The Berber population in north Africa had been under Sicilian masters for too long and now even they started to call them Sicilians.


July 1614 Brittany accepted the peace terms of made by the Italians. Many nations were liberated and adopted in the HRE.


One of these new nations was France. They were eager to join the Empire now that they had risen again from under the rule of Normandy. Maria III accepted Normandie and Calais to the Empire.


Maria III thought that she could trust the French but soon she found out their true nature when they attacked Orleainais.


Even though Henri II was defeated in Orleainais it was not only until January 1616 when he surrendered in Calais. France was made a vassal of Italy.

In due time the Roman Empire might rise again but for now we shall concentrate on protecting the Holy Roman Empire.

Infamy is low as hell but i need Imperial authority and there is still Austria and Brandenburg who stand in my way.

I want you to be come protector of Rome​

The troubles wasn't over yet as June 1616 Serbia attacked Wallachia which was part of the Holy Roman Empire. The Empress rushed for their aid.


The decisive battle was fought in Kosovo where Djordre I lost all of his armies to the superior cavalry of Italy.


Then Serbia surrendered. They were forced to convert to reformed faith and become as vassal of Italy.


Serbia was not the only one to attack the Empire. Orleains did the same by attacking Berry. They soon saw the error in their ways and joined the Empire as Italian vassal.


Maria III tried to get Ewiger Landfriede passed in the Imperial court of Holy Roman Empire but the majority needed for it to pass was not met.


In their debt of gratitude Berry joined Italy as their vassal.


Serbia asked if Kosovo would be included in the Holy Roman Empire's provinces. Maria III accepted them in.


In October 1619 Lithuania attacked Mazovia and member of HRE and Italia joined the fight. Maria III was so furious about this that she raised an armies so big that no one had ever seen one and took command of one of them.


Before her departure to Lithuania Maria III forced trough an act of Militia where the Emperor was the Supreme Leader of the armed forces.


And in the four province kingdom of Finland Eerikki II Armfelt had taken the throne.


March 11th 1620 Podlasia fell to the Italians after an successful siege led by Maria III

Maria's victories continued and in June 1620 last of the Lithuanian castles fell.


Two days later Lithuania agreed to release Mazovia wich they had allready annexed.


After King Josif Dracul of Wallachia heard about Maria III's achievements he agreed to become her vassal, to gain the protection of the HRE.


From the South African colonies good news came in as now Italy was in control of ivory.


After a year of Mazovian liberation they became vassals of Italia.
