Timuirds

There are no strong nations that can oppose you, the Ottomans and Mamluks tend to stay off your back while you can spend the first 100 years conquering all of India. If you are lucky at the start and get the Conquer Delhi mission, you gain all of the cores needed to from the Mughal Empire. And of course by forming the Mughal Empire (I did this within the first 75 years of starting), you get out of the Tribal government. After you eat up India which is very easy in HTTT (Holy War or Reconquest CB), you can turn your attention to breaking apart the Mamluks or Ottoman Empire and then focus on China.

Of course Siberia is yours for the taking

And also you can move your capital to Dehli with no negative actions (via National Decision) which because Dehli is tropical, this removes the negative province modifier applied to any other tropical province.

Transylvania - Because it's starting position is fraught with danger once you break the vassalization with Hungary, and is very poor at the start.

Moldavia - Bordering the Golden Horde, the recipient of many a Jihad, but if you can survive and grow your borders you can form Romania and dominate the Balkans

Timurids - Very shaky starting position, despite being a powerful country. It's a race to get out a tribal government, and the mission to conquer Delhi provides you with the opportunity to reform into the Mughal nation, which can fend off the Europeans when they come seeking India's rich resources

Yaroslavl - Can you take the Bear and form Russia? Very very hard.

Navarra - Wedged between England, Aragon, and Castille, you're easy picking for any of them. Surviving this position is incredibly hard, at best, but if you do your awesome sliders can catapult you to one of Europe's richest nations.

Papal States - Who wants an ugly Italian flag when you can form the Kingdom of God instead, monopolize the curia and excommunicate anyone you wish? Who wants to be a monarchy and sit through ten years of regency when you can be a theocracy?

Europe
Lithuania - the biggest bad ass of the baltics but your surrounded by heretics and heathens and most of all, stuck in an union with the polish.

Sweden - you got yerself a nice little spot being the best of scandinavia but the danish and russians look with envy at your baltic lake.

Poland - your western neighbours are fragmented and your southern ones are your best friends while the only bordering neighbore in the east is your slave. make the most out of it!

Asia
Persia - be the holy hammer of the shiite faith and slay the central asian and arab people's with your powerful armies and solid position.

Jalayirids -your a mongol sunni nation leading an iraqi shiite area. and worst of all. your squished between the biggest meanest nations in the area. so who's first!

Updated, and my, this list is coming along nicely. :)

Georgia - Act big, mint and loan to survive against GH, Timurids and OE.

Swahili - Act big, mint and loan to realize some nations are meant to be played by the AI..

Any moderators think this thread is worth stickying? :)

Europe

Bremen: same culture provinces all around, gets early a CB against Denmark (when Holstein gets annexed), allied with a strong Hansa, once Hansa is forced to release Hamburg - it can be annexed in the next war, sea access, neighbors not too strong, can form Germany, archbishopric - so no regency council

The Hansa: Starting CoT -> rich, sea access, nice missions to conquer Denmark & Co, can form Germany

The Palatinate: 3 starting provinces, once Bavaria is down - easy play, some same culture provinces around to conquer, it is easy to meddle witch Trier, Mainz and Cologne and vasselizing them to become Emperor of HRE, central position in Europe, can form Germany

sry for my bad english

Cyprus - reestablish the kingdom of jerusalem! (technically they considered themselves to be so, otherwise mod the decision :))
& lots of infidels to fight :)

EDIT: Welcome to the forums Nordeiche! your english is fine :)

Norway - Challenging neighbours but has bases to begin colonizing north america early in the game. Also protected by a PU if you want to play peacefully

Switzerland - Landlocked nation with very good sliders, provinces and a special government which makes it easy for you to become wealthy. France, Italy and Germany. They are all your neighbours!

Europe:
Portugal - Unlikely that you will ever be in a war, start your colony empire
Brittany - Average French nation which can easily take on france if you know what to do

Achaea - Challenging crusader state with bad sliders and position, you are very weak, but protected by western powers via guarantees and sphere of influences. There are nearby nations to claim so you will have a chance

Pskov - A Russian landlocked 1 province minor trapped between Novgorod and the Teutonic order. You have trading sliders which makes a good economy possible

Trebizond - A small one province minor in the black sea, big neighbours and few allies. A real challenge for the experienced

Teutonic order - form prussia or germany, take on novgorod and poland, create a massive empire in eastern europe

Novogorod - make your merchant republic big and rich, or take over Asia by forming russia

Europe:Naples:Why?Simple, you've got all of Italy at your disposal. You can unify italy country by country, going more and more north. The only precaution is to take Sicily. Also, iff you have HttT,be fast and take Albania and Epeiros, you'll have some little manpower more.
