Cheer up, you are now the second smallest nation. And if your big friends east and west didn't insist on protecting you, eating you wouldn't be slow at all.

Incidentally, Queen of Men says she likes you and that you were the most welcoming of the gangbangers.

By the way, I thought this snippet of dialogue from the session was kind of funny:

OrangeYoshi: Foels, do you still hold the absurd belief that when KoM steals my vassals, that's not an act of aggression, and if I DOW then I am starting the war?
Foelsgaard: Well, that would depend. KoM, why did you steal his vassals?
(Beat)
KoM: ... I don't understand the question.

KoM, shouldn't you rephrase this.

I quoted her very nearly exactly.

This is Queen of Men. Looking over KoM's shoulder, I remarked, "Oh, that's OrangeYoshi. He was especially welcoming on the forums the night before the game, though other players were certainly welcoming too." A very pleasant group overall, very responsive to my desire to get gangbanged in the shortest time possible so I could go back to sleep.

KoM edit: Very nearly exactly, I tell you.

I've been exiled, persucuted. Left alone with no defense. When I think of what those brutes did. I get a little tense. But I pray a God so pretty. That I don't feel so depressed. 'Cause Crom shootes my inner beast. And it helps me get some rest. The sound of Denmark's dying gasp. Bavaria squealing in my grasp. Iberia's mournful cry. That's my lullaby. Now the past I've tried forgetting. And my foes I could forgive. Trouble is, I knows it's petty.

But I hate to let them live.

"That would depend on your definition of 'is' is"

I've seen this development before, somewhere. Now, where can I be thinking of? It's on the tip of my tongue...

Amazing just how much parallelism we're maintaining with previous games.

Indeed! I attack a neighbor, some country sends its army halfway across the world to intervene, some country is partioned.

Which would've happened regardless.

Chief points to note: Rome has caught up with Egypt in cultural numbers as well as ineffable superiority. The Roman demesne host has more than doubled in size due to the new Emperor and his very effable superiority in stewardship; the combination of stewardship 19 and the richest province in the game means that the Byzantion regiment, alone, is about 65k strong. And none of it is militia. Long live the Emperor Alexios!

Session 35, yr 1336: In which the French flee to Ireland, and the Calipha becomes Pope!

session35.jpg

Rebellions and provinces getting inherited and returned omitted.

Danes launch war on the French to regain Cornwall!
Andalus and Bavaria gang up to annex French mainland!
Nobody intervenes!
French flee to Ireland! Danes proclaim Ireland within their sphere!

Fatimid Calipha get event-claim on old nemesis, hunts down Pope hiding in England!
Kills Pope!
Crowns self new Pope!
Averronian heresy solved!

Greeks steal prov from Croats in Italy!
Croats lodge strongly worded diplomatic complaint!

Non-Fatimid vassals are weeded out of Italy.

Greeks get God-King! Field unspeakable legions of terror!

With the latest manoeuvres the Andalusians and Bavarians are now mighty behemoths come EU3! Watch this space for future shenanigans!

And thus shall Irishmen rise to destroy those who have wronged against them.

Denmark is curious of why the outcome of the French-Spain confontration ended up into complete french mainland annexation instead of the given terms to "up to river Loire"? Did Loire refuse this peace or did Spain see it changes to push it up to the limit? Answer to that will bear deep consequences in future western european politics

The Kings of Loire were never presented with demands of such kind and the only one presented to us was total annexation of French mainland.

interesting...becouse when I was forcing my own peace, I inquired the demands of the other war parties (in sense that would they include terretory that I reserve for future incorporation to danish realm), the answer was somewhere line "to the river Loire" and roughly to the lands currently owned by Bavaria...

Someone else, I think it was Frosty, said 'looks like Andalus is going for the Loire.' The first thing I in fact said was, 'I like the Seine'. Before that, I made no demands at all.

So should we interpt this by what ways? That Andalucia has gone into rather large scale conquere-adventurism? Note that I did gave rather strong singal that I didn't wish any other nation to exploid my projected 1-on-1 war against France into annexation fest. Quite the opposite and thus I feel mediocorely betrayed.

You wanted it all you backstabing hyena! For the rest of this game i will make sure that Andalus is destroyed even if i have to burn down all of Iberia.

Did you have any treaties to ensure your own survival? Being the smallest power in the area requires you to convince someone strong that your survival is valuable.
