Algiers, 16 October 2011
- President, we have to do something about that.
- What is it, Renault?
- You know that tensions with Mitteleuropa are still very high. Our military readiness is high, but we still don't have our backs secured in our own house.
- What do you mean with that?
- Well, we're leading our country with help of brute force and political repression, and many people aren't happy with that. Illegal far-Right party Action Francaise is getting a lot of support among the people...
- How do you know that? Minister of the Interior should be more aware of this. But Louis Nicolas Bonaparte didn't inform me about this.
- I have my sources in Gendarmerie, I am a soldier at least. Bonaparte is policeman. This means that one of security services must be wrong...
- Good day, Sir. - Louis Nicolas Bonaparte, Minister of the Interior and the third man of regime, entered the room. He didn't even give a look to his rival, Prime Minister Renault.
- Have a seat, Mister Bonaparte, we just discused about you and your service. Can you please give us a report about dissent among the population?
- Sir, our services didn't detect any relevant suspicious activity among the people...
- Akhem, how is it with underground party Action Francaise? - asked Renault.
- Well, they are irelevant and powerless.
- I wouldn't say so. - replied Renault. He opened a briefcase and hurled massive stockpile of documents on the desk. - Have a look, Bonaparte. Here is irelevant activity of Action Francaise. Bonaparte knew that his lies were revealed. In next hours, Bonaparte had to explain reasons for his lies about the real situation.
--------------
- Pressuming from your explanation, you were hiding truth about Action Francaise because you knew that it's impossible to successfully combat their influence with force and that alternative policy would be required. You were afraid of chance that we would make a political agreement with Action Francaise, and that you would have to face more rivals in politics? - analyzed President Dassault.
- Yes. I'm very sorry for that. But you know that I can't stand those royalists.
- Louis Nicolas, do you know that your personal feelings could jeopardize the security of our Republic? You could be tried for treason because of that.
- And I think that he should be tried and convicted for his treason. - said Renault.
- No need to that, Renault. Louis Nicolas has made a lot of good deeds too, and his service to our Republice has been very valuable. Louis Nicolas, you re pardoned for your lies, and your political position will be left intact.
- Thank you, Sir.
- But under one condition. You will be obligated to keep yourself out of any conflicts with Action Francaise. We must make a pact with them.
- But Sir, is this really neccessary? Is it wise to make an alliance with far-Right ultra-Royalist radicals?
- Unfortunately, this is neccessary for safety of our nation. Their royal claimant is now alligned to Mitteleuropa, and in case of war, they would represent the Fifth Column. We must prevent this danger. We need to contact them. Renault will do this job.
- Consider it done, Sir. We know that their leader Royal is still unformally leading the party. She lives in villa in outskirts of Algiers. She officially cut all ties with politics after ban of political parties, but my sources in political underground say that she is still active in circles of prohibited Action Francaise. Even more, she is still unchallenged leader of this movement.
- Excellent. Louis Nicolas, can I trust you this won't happen again? At least for the sake of France!
- Sir, I won't disappoint you again.
- Very well. It's the time to limit political rivarly for the sake of our homeland.
--------------
In the meeting with leaders of Action Francaise, the pact was signed. Ban on political paries was lifted, but all parties who decided to revive themselves had to unite into Party of National Unity (PNU). Union for the Republic, Action Francaise and Radicals were restored as legal parties and after the sign of treaty, they united into Party of National Unity. No other parties decided to restore themselves. Seats in parliament were disctributed according to situation before the ban, vacant seats were equally divided among parties that united into PNU.
Just before that, Action Francaise terminated the membership of Duke Philippe according to agreement with President Dassault. As royalist movement, Action Francaise had to chose new royal claimant if they wanted to keep connection with their monarchist roots, and they decided to chose Legitimist claimant, a rival of Orleanist Duke Philippe. Legitimist claimant was happy that support of major royalist movement was thrown behind him, and he proudly accepted new position.
Demands of Action Francaise for their cooperation were high, and Dassault's regime had to pay the price. Royalist leader Segolene Royal wanted Ministry of Economic Planning (especially important for armaments industry) and new royalist claimant became the foreign minister. New foreign minister was also supported by non-royalist faction due to his experiences in foreign policy (he held position of ambassador in many countries, last time he was French ambassador in Egypt), and to show to the world that legitimate French royalist claimant is Legitimist claimant that supports the cause of National France and not Orleanist claimant that defected to pro-German Kingdom of France.
