The situation is simple. We only have wolves from one pack dead. That gives us absolutely no analysis material on the other pack. From his professing that he was a hunter, a PM, and his odd voting record (including repeated voting of dublish), he seemed like a viable member of the other pack.

If we don't kill a member of the other pack, the village will lose this game. It is too late to do it through normal means as the other pack will have too many members on its side, and will undoubtedly persuade a few villagers. Thus, to get the ball rolling, I took a chance on what, to me, seemed a suspicious figure.

If I didn't do it, we'd lose. If I did it and he was a villager, we'd lose. If I did it and he was a wolf from the other pack, we still have a chance to win.
