Thread: A Tutorial?

    A Tutorial?

I've been reading a lot about Vicky 2, but I still haven't been exactly cleared up on one very important issue. Will there be some sort of tutorial in this game? Some sort of way of introducing the features? Last time I really couldn't get into it because I just felt overwhelmed from the beginning about how everything worked. Even though I read the manual, I think a tutorial would really make things easier for me and other people. It helped me with HOI2 and EU2. I really don't want to have to sit out another installment of the series out because the developers refused to introduce the game in any real sense to new players. It's my favorite time period in all of history, so all I want to be able to do is enjoy it in a way that's far more convenient than taking shots in the dark for my first games.

I have to agree. Vicky was fun, but overwhelming, and I did not grasp many key concepts. A basic tutorial (even one as simple and basic as HOI3 was) would be wonderful!

Every game based on the Clausewitz engine AFAIK has had a tutorial, so I see no reason V2 would be any different in that regard.
Slowly working my schedule to make more time for Paradox. Have missed you all and hope to be more active here in 2013.

Honestly, a good tutorial is worth a thousand manuals. I bought Vicky, played it for 2 days and ignored it for a couple of years till I read OHGamers power through production AAR which served as my tutorial, and taught me how to play and enjoy Vicky 1.

There was an excellent Germany step-by-step AAR for HOI2 which also taught me how to play that game, and I think Rensslaer's Sforza AAR did the same for me in EU3.
