[MOD]The Eagle, the Cross and the Crescent

    ----------------------------------

    Download TECC v0.16.9 here:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?uwg6zyclyi9pgmp

    IMPORTANT:
If you are using only the official patches you need to install the interface for DW5.1 or the mod will crash.
As the launcher only changes the true MEIOU-mod you need to rename the TECC-directory to MEIOU, update the interface, and rename it to TECC
    That'll solve the crash.

Had me baffled for a bit as both MEIOU and TECC kept crashing on me...

    What's happening:
White = not started or N/A
    gold = in progress
    green = completed

    - Clean up EU3 installation
    - Reinstall latest version of MEIOU
    - Convert this to TECC
--- Put in readme that an equal version of MEIOU needs to be installed to prevent lack of interface.
--- Ask Gigau if a fix is possible for this problem
----- Take screenshots of this issue if needed.
    - Convert the following:
    --- \Common
    ----- Set bookmarks:
    ------- 1050: longest campaign
    ------- 1066: Norman England
    ------- 1090: 1st Crusade

    ---------------
    - All of MJPoland's work added
    - updated to most recent MEIOU-version, including many bugfixes
    - changed the techlevels (now they go up to 135): this is experimental for now as the new techlevels don't do anything yet. Main idea is to test tech-costs.

    - Several provinces in the Near East and Armenian regions changed to Oriental Christian (Armenian Church doesn't fall under the Orthodox Group)
    - 'Independence' of a number of nations in the HRE brought forward to increase starting options.

    Towards 0.16.1a

    - rectified several province-files in order to solve a CTD-issue

    Towards 0.16a

    - reworked several stemduchies: Upper and Lower Lorraine, Franconia, Swabia (many changes only visible in post-1090 start)
    - some additional work on Italy
    - some work on France, the Alençon-Normandy issue remains unresolved.
    - some minor changes in the near-east and pontic steppes
    - changed the Berg-Julich establishment decision to allow Mark in on the fun.
    - updated to MEIOU:TD 5.5 and corrected some legacies (due to new provinces)

    Towards 0.15a
    ---------------
    - added events and decision that enables a certain William to conquer England in 1 fell swoop
    - added an event (seems to work, not sure) that enables culture shift from anglosaxon to anglois
    - added anglosaxon culture
    - replaced the Anglosaxon Empire with England at gamestart. Is a bit better
    - changed the name of normandy to normandy (was Alençon), changed flag to proper. (is potential placeholder given info on Alençon-issue)
    - added an event to enables a certain Harald to conquer England in 1 fell swoop
    - changed the decision that forms the North Sea Empire to take anglosaxon culture into account, added some more provinces that it needs to control in England and Norway

    Nice

You should know that you need to edit the technology files first, to have science begin in 1000-1050... otherwise you'll have a crash.

Good luck.... and you know where to ask questions if you need

Are you kidding ? You made a mod of MEIOU, i feel honoured. The least i could do

I'll try to post here the main map changes i make, as they arrive, when they can affect your mod.
For starters, for next upload (v4.0.8a), after discussion with friend, Forêz has been merged with Lyon. The freed province ID has been used to add Gavaudan (Gévaudan). Just a little reorganization of southern France, but which changes two province history files (i'll give you the affected province IDs when i get home).

aha, good to know. Haven't started changing things in france yet but that time is fast approaching. Together with germany that's an awful lot of provinces..

edit: Great Britain has now been mostly changed... and that Anglosaxon empire (ASE) came in handy for that .
Nothern Italy is iffy. What where those Italians thinking when they splintered off from the Regnum italicum...

Don't worry, those areas should see major changes any time soon, unless corrections are required. I think France and GReat Britain have a fair amount of provinces, and don't require more. Germany and North Italy have reached maximum province density anyways

thanks for the offer, given the size of Germany and the immense fragmentation I could surely use your help, or that of others (insofar as they're not working MEIOU or their own mods).

I'm using the ever so useful wiki and also the Putzer Historischer Weltatlas, but their highly detailed maps of the HRE only begin at 1378.
The maps before that show a much more unified realm (only the great duchies and similar large entities) but to what extent that was actually fact I can't say.

In my it is so, too, the first detailed is 1378, but I think if you make a map for 1050, you should make big duchies like this : ,because they control the empire at this time and not the small duchies under them, they become the power after 1050 or 1076 year for year, but in 1050 they do not have the power, so i would add the big duchies.

yep, the map of the Ottone-period I have is more or less the same.
I'm guessing that there will be no other option that checking the history of each duchy separatly to see when they break up, or have them started as broken up but with their constituent parts as vassals.
So basically about 8 clusters of vassals.
That only affects player-determined startdates of course so in the future evens will probably have to trigger the devolution for both AI and players. Maybe have them triggerd by slidersettings and/or other events that flavourise the period. But that for far away

edit: I think I've gotten a grip on North Italy, tomorrow I'll try and finish it. After that I'll get to work on Poland and the German Baltic coast.
    Should be pretty doable.

Edit2: lol, saw the Asia Minor part of the map of he mod "The Dark Years", saw a few provinces there that'd be handy to have for the 1204-1300 period . No worries, it just had me grinning.

You should, if you know, a dynastie give a core in the provinces, so you could give the House of of Zähringen a core in Breisgau ,Thurgau and Baden or the House of Wettin a core in Lausitz and the House of Württemberg a core in Württemberg.

that seems like a good solution, it also solves (iirc) a problem I've been having with the early years in Vaud. Now I've dumped it with Switzerland for the time being.
Something similar happened with bresse, which is currently parked in the Dauphiné.

hehe, it'll take a bit of time yet I guess.
And since there isn't a structure for interpersonal cooperation yet...
I wonder if Gigau or Fuzzbug or others could divulge some tips in that regard.

I'm not sure to what extend you -and/or others in the future- would be willing to contribute.

update: with the wedding nearing at a very fast pace I'm suspending further development until after the honeymoon.

That's about 3 weeks (12/13 april) until recommencement of modding.

I was in the process of doing sort of the same thing...modding MEIOU to an earlier start date...when I saw your thread. I'm at school taking 23 credits this semester so I don't know how much help I could offer, if you want it, but I have access to one of the largest maritime oriented libriaries in america and I've gotten good at modding history files over the last few months.

i place myself at your disposal

Well, Fuzzbug and i mainly communicate by this forum and by mail. Same with Solo_Adhémar for the graphics.
I'd say the main issue is to track the modifications done and not forget to put all the files other modders send you in... and believe me, it happens... right Fuzzbug ?

But of course, Fuzzbug, Solo and i seldom work on the same files at same time. If you are to work on same file, an instant messenging tool like messenger or skype or whatever could be usefull.

Oh, and Crazy_Ivan, congratulations. I wish the both of you a very happy wedding

The marriage has gone of without a hitch... meaning I've been ringed. :d
    tomorrow we depart for Egypt

I'd also make known that the people working on TECC has gone from 1 to 2, meaning that we're on the verge of becoming a team.
I'll leave the honour to him to do the introcution.
And with that I leave the floor to rower1

/CI80 waves everyone goodbye until April 12th.
