4.1b quickfix

first: RN 1.4 is made for H3T 4.0 as Convictolitavis say it every times!

but its possible to fix the most irritational bug playing RN with 4.1b: population grows with thousands of percents.

steps to fix that:
- open eu3-Mainfolder/common/defines.txt and eu3-Mainfolder/mod/RISING-NATIONS 1.4/common/defines.txt with any texteditor.
- scroll down to line 157. there you´ll find a new entry in the vanilla file.
- copy the following new line from the vanilla-file onto the same place of the RN-file:

	1	#_CDEF_HEIR_DEATH_

- save your RN-file.

after that, population grows with normal rates.

thats a problem with your access-rights to your computer using win-vista or win7. install your eu3 outside the standard-progam-folder and this and a lot of more problems are gone.
you can also give the eu3-folder full access for everyone and unchecking the "write-only"-button for the folder (and all files insight). and last but not least, open the file in admin-mod.
or: save the changed defines.txt to desktop and copy it via explorer onto the right place.

but i can highly recommend to install the game outside the programs/programs(32)-folder...

access rights aren't the problem. There is no Programs(32) folder for me, but a programs(86) folder. What do you mean copy it via explorer? I saved the change to desktop and tried to copy it in, which failed.

yes, program files(x86) is the right name, i forgot the corrrect name - vista 64bit or win7 64bit, right?

if you cannot insert files in any subfolder like eu3 of your programs(x86)-folder it is an access-rights-problem.
the easiest way is to create a new folder named games or whatever in the root-directory. than install eu3 into this new folder (you can also only copy your eu3-folder to that place and change the path in your desktop and startmenu-icons. it works without problems). make sure that in your new installation the files are not write-only (rightclick on the folder -> uncheck write-only for all).

For some reason whenever I start a nation it has a huge debt, and can't gain money no matter what. What could cause that?

for me, i have 4.1b and i did what you said.. but whenever the loading screen gets to "loading texts" it crashes...only for this mod. Why?

Even with the quickfix it didn't work for me. I made a new install directory that is unpatched specifically for mod compatibility problems like these.
