Thats 3300 rare minerals total. These are all from mining-technology.com. Other problem is that ex-Soviet states are barely represented & so is China. Ill have to find more info for these & represent them unless someone has some viable data. Also the #s are currently a little high as there should be 5k steel & 10k energy for a total of 5kIC supported. 2.5k rares should be the max for rares therefore (unless nomonhan has other ideas) ill add the Sino Soviet rares & prob cut the current ones listed here by 1/2 so that ~1k of additional sino/soviet rare production can be included. Ill post the events in a few days.

-Impressed research iceHaw
-I think in AoD we got some new stuff like energy => oil then oil => rare right?
-Is energy excess? Can energy cover for lacking of oil, then oil cover for lacking of rare (may be nomonhan can increase the effective of Synthetic Oil/rare Plant teach?)

I've been thinking about this for awhile but I think Italy should be Imperial World View instead of Frustrated Expansionist. Curious to see what you think.

No right now they're all more or less balanced. Energy kicks up Noticeably aft 2000 as China busts out its coal reserves by 1-2,000!. On top of that we still have nuclear plants that should boost demand & possible moding in of green energy plants (solar/wind/bio). Well adjust it as it goes by.
Right now just balancing in Sov/Chi rares. Full rares should be up in a few days.

Dont know about that. Musollini seems pretty frustrated to me :) Their imperial ambitions being mostly ethiopia & albania.... kinda sad really

LOL their ambitions STARTED with Ethiopia and Albania but their desire was always to retake Mare Nostrum. The problem for Italia, and the blessing for the Allies, was that Mussolini didn't think the way was going to last very long, and so he did not adequately prepare the military for offensive operations. The King "royally" screwed the pooch with Mussolini.

Edit: Maybe have an event to switch to Imperial World View if they control Mare Nostrum?

As all axis powers were considered axis for the very reason of being frustrated by non-expansion (save Japan) I think Italy should stick with being frustrated :)

But your point makes sense, when they become an empire - their worldview should reflect that. Probably a big ass military parade (with associated costs & benefits) & a ideology switch (which 1.05 supposedly supports)

I guess my real issue with the Frustrated Expansionist Outlook is the fact that the Italian People while being in favor of reclaiming Roman territories sure as hell weren't in an expansionist mood when Italy entered the war. There was massive confusion about why they were in the war and what exactly they were trying to accomplish.

Is it compatible with CORE?

That fits frustrated expansionist. To want to expand but feel you are unable to do so for some reason = Frustrated Expansionist. In real life ideologies aren't so discrete but rather blended, whereas the game forces you to make a set choice. I think IceHawk's idea makes most sense. The Italian people were DEFINITELY divided and there's no secret as to why: In 1933 Mussolini called Hitler a "monkey" and threatened to move troops into Austria if Hitler tried to take over Austria. Italy actually took part in a DEFENSIVE ALLIANCE against Hitler, along with Britain and France. Britain upset him in 1935 by negotiating a naval treaty with Germany allowing them more ships without consulting Mussolini. In an effort to win Mussolini back, the allies secretly promised him a free hand in Ethiopia. But a French newspaper broke the story and the move was denounced. Thereafter, Mussolini no longer trusted the Allies. But the Italian people probably didn't know all this behind the scenes stuff, and many influential figures still preferred the idea of an alliance with the British (dating back to World War 1) to an alliance with Hitler. Mussolini may have proclaimed a "New Roman Empire" in propaganda, but only acted to furtherance of expansionist aims starting with Ethiopia.

Is it compatible with CORE?
I have no idea, although I think not, because I didn't design it with CORE in mind. Try and find out.

i think i found a bug, but i'm not sure if it's just my computer, everytime i play the 1948 arab israeli war sceario, whenever israel annexes palestine, the game quits out of it self and says arsenal of democracy had an error, can you check if that's bug or just my computer ? thanks

I'll refer you to official AOD support for that one because I did nothing to mod that scenario.

Long ago, nomonhan, we (briefly) discussed making SMEP and CWE compatible. That was for Doomsday, I believe. And now, here's AOD. How well do you think they'd mesh? SMEP is (almost) purely events. I have zero desire to expand SMEP past what it already is, and you've already done so much work I think we'd complement each other nicely.

i have a request, can you make like a 1956 or a 1950 scenario ?

my game goes really slow when i play on extremely fast, so i wanna skip ahead in time a little

lek,
I've traced the crash to a poorly functioning remove_division command, which is broken in 0.14. It seems that either the units do not get properly removed or the program crashes. The problem will probably require version 0.15 of the AODGame executable to fix, and hence the next version. For now I would suggest eliminating all remove_division commands from united_states.txt event 614005 and east_asia.txt events 612014 and 612015. When the Korean event 'Thanking the UN' and the PRK events 'Thanking the Soviets' and 'Thanking the Chinese' fire, save the game and manually remove the units in accordance with the file Korean_war_bug.txt file.

Ali_1882,
Determining why the game runs so slowly and the construction of a 1956 scenario are ongoing processes.

Atruejedi,
Due to AOD's assignment of European Community to tag U00, I've changed the Catalonia tag to UA0. My tag for Communist Japan is UPS. My tag for West Papua (the closest thing to Netherlands East Indies) is U25. With my flagchange.bat routine (new for the AOD version) the user can get either the Dutch flag or the West Papua flag (plans for 0.17) and tag U14 for Bohemia-Moravia is now implemented. My ai_revolters file now has reduced IC for small nations and is therefore in accordance with your ideas. I see also that you've eliminated the file from SMEP 6 for AOD. The user will still have to pick (by selecting the scenario) SMEP or my events. My events go in file events_vl, so there is no worry about duplicated nationalist_china files, etc. It should not be too much of a problem and should be possible with 0.17.

1956 scenario will probably be done by savegame extraction and removal of some units, and probably not until all Korean War bugs are worked out. (Unless there is someone with an order of battle worked out for 1956) Also it appears that technology comes a bit too fast, so I'll probably do that for AOD 0.15, which slows down research a bit.

lAtruejedi,

I will change mine accordingly.

My tag for Communist Japan is UPS.

I THOUGHT I made that change, but apparently I didn't. Will do so.

My tag for West Papua (the closest thing to Netherlands East Indies) is U25.

You know, I never developed anything with that NEI idea so I might as well abandon it. Consider this no longer an issue.

With my flagchange.bat routine (new for the AOD version) the user can get either the Dutch flag or the West Papua flag (plans for 0.17)...

Despite this not being an issue any longer, what exactly is this flagchange.bat thing you mention?

...and tag U14 for Bohemia-Moravia is now implemented.

Excellent :)

My ai_revolters file now has reduced IC for small nations and is therefore in accordance with your ideas. That may change with time but the idea is to give tiny nations just barely enough to keep going and produce only a few units.

Excellent. Feel free to lift any code I've done in there.

I see no reason for nerfing the output of the revolter nations in Russia except in the context of the Russian Civil War. So I think they should be nerfed separately by events connected with the war.

I think this is already done via nerf-events, so I think we're okay. I think? I honestly don't remember...

If all this is done there would be no need for a separate ai_revolters and Smep_revolters file since the content would be essentially identical.

I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to use my revolt.txt file. I put SO MUCH FREAKING TIME into that shiz to make absolutely sure any combination of nations could be liberated in any order. I'm super "proud" of it and I think AOD should use it by default. Take a look at it, if you haven't.

The user will still have to pick (by selecting the scenario) SMEP or my events. My events go in file events_vl, so there is no worry about duplicated nationalist_china files, etc.

Sounds fine to me. This is all good news for both of us, I believe :)
