Scottish soldiers begin to trek further into Africa. With most of western Europe already suffering from Scottish deprivation it is time to spread misery around further, and steal yet more alcohol from other nations. War is declared on Benin in July 1500.
Finally Scotland's greatest enemy is humbled!
The nefarious Hansa have been routed, and reduced to OPM status. Considering the fact that The Hansa was small when first humiliating Scotland, making her smaller still will probably increase the likeliness of her besting Scotland in the future.
For the first time in many a year a substantial force is arrayed against Scotland.
Thankfully with only a single province providing the land border between Scottish land and Muscowy, things should be relatively simple.
On the 11th July 1501 Navarra accepts full annexation.
On the 18th November 1501 Croatia accepts full annexation. Dalmatia is no longer cut-off! Ottomans now have a clear land route into Scotland! Scotland thus sells out of toilet roll. Admittedly the Ottomans already had a clear land route into Scotland via her vassals lands in Serbia and Bosnia, but from previous wars she had proven surprisingly reluctant to use this route.
Having grabbed swathes of land from Benin, Scottish colonial aspirations remain unsatisified. War is declared on Hausa in January 1502. Land grabbing is not the only reason for this war. Hausa is spelled dangerously alike Hansa...
Whilst Scottish forces have been smacking about the lesser partners in the Muscowy led coalition, Muscowy has nonetheless been suffering trouble herself. No doubt the Muscovite people have learnt of the baying lunatics which now border them, and are merely voicing their concerns.
The first major battle between Scotland and Muscowy results in a resounding Scottish success. The overwhelming numbers enjoyed by Scotland clearly had no bearing on the outcome.
With war exhaustion mounting, and Muscowy's large forces gathering near her western borders, despair at making any great inroads into Muscowy leads to peace hastily being thrashed out.
The provinces were gained by a 20,000 stack of Scottish troops quickly assaulting some Muscovite provinces before asking for peace. The war score is near entirely from battles won against Muscowy's coalition partners. At least some small progress has been made against Muscowy.
On the 9th November 1504 Benin accepts full annexation. Another continent is suffering from Scotland's rapacious appetite for alcohol, fatty foods and land...in that order.
On the 11th November 1504 Songhai accepts full annexation.
On the 13th November 1504 Kanem Bornu accepts full annexation.
War with various minor nations continues.
A new heir rises to the throne...
Henry is not the most Scottish of names, but with stats like that he can be nothing other than a Scot. Upon his succession he is appointed Papal Controller. Evidently annexing the Papal States numerous times will gain you such a role.
Finally the rest of the world take notice of Scotland.
Weak and yet unbeaten.
On the 11th July 1505 Flanders accepts annex-diddly-ation (finally an end to these horrific attempts at humour...and poor spelling).
January 1506 witnesses Scotland's band of losers growing larger.
Castilians have evidently come to the conclusion that simply joining with Scotland and pretending they agree with how things currently are, is to be much preferred rather than simply being the conquest of a nation of useless eijits.
On the 1rst April 1506 Gelre accepts full annexation.
On the 4th October 1506 Brandenburg accepts full annexation.
On the 30th of April 1507 Ukraine accepts full annexation.
On the 1rst May 1507 Krakow accepts full annexation.
On the 17th June 1507 Sokoto accepts full annexation.
On the 19th July 1507 Mail accepts full annexation.
On the 24th November 1507 Pommerania accepts full annexation.
On the 30th November 1507 Venice accepts full annexation.
What an exciting AAR this is proving to be.
On the 2nd of December 1507 The Papal States accept full annexation...again. The Pope had been hiding out in Holland this time. Scotland remain Papal Controllers! Well I suppose if you control the Pope's land, you must be Papal Controller.
On the 10th February 1508 Brabant accepts full annexation.
Finally Scotland does something to justify her role as defender of the faith (beyond annexing Catholic nations so as to...uhm...better defend them) - she steps in to defend Translyvania from the maruading Moldavia. The very same Translyvania who declared war on Scotland but a few years ago...why is Scotland aiding them again?
Having allies in a war for the first time in many a year is truly a novel feeling.
