Is this mod still alive? have not seen any updates.
Let's face it - the HttT patch broke the map, it took ages to find the solutions, Divine Wind came out with a larger map and lots of new mechanisms. Amidst this, I have had other things to do (moderating another forum, real life, holiday etc.). This mod hasn't been playable for a long time. I therefore confirm that this mod is dead and I won't do any more development.
Crusader Kings II is lurking behind the corner, we have a lot of leftover resources and information from this mod. CKII's dynasty system and general mechanisms fit this mod much better than EU3 does. I will eventually turn Crusader Kings II into a mod that covers the same period than this one did - 900AD to 1399. Possibly the start date will be even earlier, as the current one is only 100 years before the vanilla game will start.
Thank you all for your support and especially the huge popularity the mod received during the early stages (I remind that it didn't take even 3 weeks to get this subforum). I hope you can help me when I take up the task to create a mod for Crusader Kings II.
That's a shame, but you better not post in the Reign of Terror thread on the DH forums saying that mod is dead as well. I'm looking forward to that one.

hey tuore I've been planning a mod and voicing the idea over the CK forum for a mod 911-1500 AD. Along with the expanded timeline I plan on modding in a Jewish religion, more playablility in Byzantine Empire etc. I've got plenty of ideas. Want to work together?
On the start date, 911 seems the only plausible date for a late dark ages mod that can continue on later on.
-East Francia has more or less become the Kingdom of Germany
-The line of Carolingia has dissolved in Germany
-There is numerous claimants to the title of Holy Roman Empire (this could be decision to whichever of the Carolingian successor states reaches a certain pristige etc.)
-There is a King in England, most of the early Saxon Kingdoms have dissolved.
Within CK's parameters I think this would be awesome start date.

SEXIICOLOURS 1.3! for Victoria II. Want a better more historic country colour scheme? Sick of Prussia being yellow? isn't Prussian Blue much better:P
I can't find a thread in the CKII forums, so I guess you haven't made one yet? When we make a thread, we could think of another name for the mod. Less confusion and less cliché name.
That's unfortunate, though it doesn't surprise me. You did good work on this, and I'm sure you'll do well with modding CK2 (though I don't like the CK games so I probably won't play it myself). Good luck!
Yeah.. Sorry about dissapearing from this as well Tuore (although I mainly tossed ideas around ), RL caught up on me as well I'm afraid :/
Hope CKII turns out good, been tossing the idea around of actually learning how to mod, and poke around at it

That's a real shame, Tuore & company. It'll be missed.
At least there's the CK2 version to look forward too.
I've been thinking recently that I would love to play a game during this time period, though unfortunately I don't have HTTT. This may provide me with an incentive to get CKII when it comes out.
Make mods? If your mod includes more provinces in the British Isles, especially in Wales, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, I'd love to try it.
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so what.” - Stephen Fry.
sorry too hear this as I was gone from EUIII for a bit and now getting back into it and was hopeful for the sound of this mod. Question was it a working mod before H3T came about? If so I might set up a copy of the game with only IN for both this mod and MM as that was the glory days for both mods.
Some say forever and mean it, others say it until its too hard.
Is it not Divine Wind compatible? Is there no DW version? Thanks!
To-Be-Released-In-Early-February Paradox game "Crusader Kings 2" though, which is character-based and much closer to the period.

Well finally a decent modification very good
The "Dark Years" used to have its own forum section, although, following an administrative rearrangement, the mod was moved into the general "Users Modifications" forum. The various threads tied to the mod were collected in larger ones dubbed: "Help", "Historical Research", "Bug Reports" and "Suggestions" — each of these has its obvious function and introduction by the mod's original author, Tuore.
This general thread otherwise gathers all the updates, developer diaries and feedback that were provided over the course of the mod's development. The first post indexes this information, so that it may be easily found, for reference.
The "Dark Years" is no longer under development, even though plans for a "Crusader Kings II" mod were announced.
Is there any way you could make another download? Because from what I know, it would seem that filefront doesn't work in my country, and I really want to try this mod!
