well i should still have most images from this site. some have been uploaded to wikimedia commons. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Generals_of_the_Imperial_Japanese_Army
there is sometimes something new there.

Thank you! (third time!) I've completed converting pictures and will look into the link to gather more pics.

no, isnt. generals.dk uses mostly Kanji, this person has a wiki page http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/平林盛人 which mentions him as mayor of Matsumoto in 1944/45 and this blog http://www.mhl.janis.or.jp/~k-ikeda/nissi-0912.htm as well (appr. middle of page).

Hmm... Wiki page also confirms the name of ひらばやし もりと. Hiragana spell is more important when it comes to pronouncing the Kanji, since it is not unusual to read a letter in two or three ways. 生 is one good extreme case - 150+ ways to read! (banging head against the wall)

btw nice job with the mongols!

EDIT: found some more pics, just ID'ing is needed http://burari2161.fc2web.com/kihei24rentai.htm

i think this one http://burari2161.fc2web.com/DSC0258311.jpg
is Mori Shigeki http://generals.dk/general/Mori/Shigeki/Japan.html (at least i used these Kanji letters provided by generals.dk for my google search)

and this one http://burari2161.fc2web.com/DSC0257912.jpg
could be Ishida Morihide http://www.generals.dk/general/Ishida/Morihide/Japan.html

this one http://burari2161.fc2web.com/DSC025801.jpg
seems to be Saito Yohitsugu http://www.generals.dk/general/Saito/Yoshitsugu/Japan.html (but is already in with this image http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/斎藤義次)

there is another one from wikimedia commons i found:
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/荻洲立兵
http://generals.dk/general/Ogisu/Ryuuhei/Japan.html

and another one
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/下元熊弥
http://generals.dk/general/Shimomoto/Kumaya/Japan.html

Kawagishi
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/川岸文三郎
http://generals.dk/general/Kawagishi/Bunzaburou/Japan.html

another Suzuki
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/鈴木美通
http://www.generals.dk/general/Suzuki/Yoshimichi/Japan.html

EDIT: and for the ills and stuff, sometimes its good to make captures from youtube vids

otherwise these are good threads:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=148392
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=135587

Thank you about all those links and materials.

Found more information on Mori Shigeki and Ishida Morihide.

On 荻洲立兵 I found two conflicting name. One source says おぎす りゅうへい, Ogisu Ryuhei, but in the other source it's おぎす りっぺい, Ogisu Rippei. Personally, I'd bet on Ogisu Ryuhei.

EDIT: I think I just found Lt. General Fujii Suekichi from this video clip. (Speach from 01:49 to 02:36) More information on him can be found in here.

EDIT2: Found a good pic for Yasuda Takeo.

as for Ogisu, it doesnt matter much, i'd say. family name is Ogisu, and you can add a comment in the CSV (i often did that for SOV leaders). maybe use "Rippei" because it will be easier to find the picture again (japanese wiki uses this version) http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ファイル:Ogisu_Rippei.jpg

btw some info on YUG needed

@Admiral Fischer: can you translate Thai?

I just added a note on his line in the csv file.

@Admiral Fischer: can you translate Thai?

I know nothing on Thai, sorry.

Thanks for photos, many of them looks very good for event and division pics. I especially like this one, perfect for MEC division picture.

If you don't mind, what's the name of this aircraft?

Thank you again, will use this photo for Numata's leader picture.

very nice find re: Gilliaert! OD is i think ok, why LW?
I thought that he deserves LW since he organized the Congo's Force Publique from a peacekeeping to a fighting force by successive phases without disturbing the economy of the colony.

oh, and your pic of Chardome made it in generals.dk, same for Sabattier, Mordant, Schlesser, Doyen, Navereau, Molle and Sudre at least
Ah ah, Mr Anonymous, I noticed that Steen sometimes included a direct link to pics from my Imageshack account…

not that i know of. just searched my HD, i used this one http://i52.tinypic.com/2i6ce2c.png (from this thread, ages ago)
For now I can't find my scan; I'll post here once I manage to find it.

EDIT: Advert
A small remark: Borghese with beret is good as leader of the RSI’s Decimas Mas; as a seawolf leader perhaps it’s best using a pic of him wearing the naval cap…

btw i need replacements for the 3 of them
Louis Loucheur (Air to Ground AM):
Arthur Fontaine (Efficient Sociopath MoS): Paul Marchandeau (SC, 33, change trait), Marcel Régnier (SC, 34) or postwar ministers André Le Troquer (SD, 46) or Édouard Depreux (SD, 46)...
Pierre Auguste Chardigny (CoA) : Louis Maurin (SL, 34, Static Defence) or either (with Elastic Defence trait) Paul Reynaud (SL, 40), Philippe Pétain (PA, 34, Static Defence?) or general Louis Colson (SC, 40) ? see IIIrd Republic ministers here.

(work in progress)

btw nice job with the mongols!
Indeed, thanks a lot Admiral Fischer!

very nice image of japanese takeover in Indochina
Not really...in fact we can see both french and japanese officers and those with the forage cap are Thais officers; that pic was certainly taken after the French-Thai war when a tripartite commission went to trace the new borderline between Thailand and French Indochina...
http://www.t3licensing.com/license/...tId=clip_29347590&keywords=indochina,thailand
Found an unidentified french BG (far left) in a similar film: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/5/1mub.jpg/

Hong Kong Surrender?
In fact it's Singapore Surrender.

- New French general (link found by Marcos on the ATF 40 forum): MG Marcel Allard; link with pics here. N.B.: no commando trait since he was wounded the day he should have taken command of the 27th Alpine Division.
- How about doing a pic for ENG's minister of security (1945-1951) James Chuter Ede too?

to moustache or not to moustache, that is the question?

many thanks to Admiral Fischer for providing links & info.

Yes, really much better now, thanks to both you and Admiral Fischer!

???, Ferenc Farkas for Hungary and of course general Bührer for Indochina (1935-37), very good job!!

Wang Shuming, head of the ROC air force and later CoS of ROC http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/王叔銘 is the first one (not sure but isnt he in one of the cliques?)

as for MEN: in colour pics, look at "dip_offer_alliance-jap.bmp" in the misc folder. iirc this is De Noyan/Te Wang greeting general Itagaki, so just in case you want to play MEN, you can use this one as well;)

i need feedback & input for BUL and GRE

btw., most Bulgarian generals i added are from here http://forum.boinaslava.net/showthr...E0%F0%F1%EA%E8%F2%E5-%C3%E5%ED%E5%F0%E0%EB%E8 (and of course generals.dk)
i stopped adding in mid 2009, maybe there are new ones. if somebody has the will and time to cruise there and finds something new let me know please. translation with google chrome usually works fine (promotion dates, etc.).

the 38th is up (see first post this thread)

American, German, Italian, French, Japanese, Australian, South African, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Iranian, Yugoslav and generals from Belgium added
+ 2 for the portuguese navy of course

vichy event updated

TTs for PHI, IDC, GRE, CHI, JAP, POR and the RSI

ills less than a handful, a ROM HQ, a HUN HQ, a SOV plane and a BUL GAR

some Japanese officers you've never seen before - and i still have "dry powder" :D

Quite impressive over the years, keep on the good job and let's hope that more fans of the project will help you in your research work!

Note on new Greek CoAF Panagiotos Gazis: I noticed that he completely replaced Eleftherios Venizelos on position #18010 (starting cabinet), fine! the problem is that a PI death event exists which sleeps him as CoAF, so in my new test game I had Gazis replaced by a unknown FA CoAF! I modded the death event to have that not happen again. Then I noticed that Eleftherios Venizelos is also available as an AM Air to Ground Proponent starting 1941 although he died in march 1936, 19th...

Btw found a pic of a postwar USMC air general: MG Frank H. Lamson Scribner who was involved in marine air reserve training and during the Korean War too (trait should be Tank Buster as the marine air wings were doing mainly CAS there...): https://www.argentaimages.com/media...0011523WHBAIP/name/Commander+James+H.+Gormsen
hint on his rank dates (colonel & BG) and his duties too: http://yellowlegs-and-others.com/Bi.../L/Lamson-Scribner,_Frank_H._MajGen_USMC.html

Yes, Juin needed a better pic as a minister...I think that I sent you once a similar one? http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/USA-MTO-Salerno/img/USA-MTO-Salerno-p254.jpg

and also a list of former heads of air force http://www.haf.gr/en/structure/previous_agea.asp
Do you plan to add the others missing too?

I took a glance there and I quickly found many new czech generals, cool!
