A completely baffling MOTHERLOAD of posts

Consider this an official TRP response after being gone for four days:

Holy. Crap.

In less than two weeks, this AAR smashed probably every record we could possibly conceive... ever. In six days, Realpolitik reached the amount of views the Channel Pact had after six months. Even while skimming this thread with two, it was impossible to keep up with the amount of posting. Still, we have a general idea of how the campaigns went, and it will be merged into a game update we'll post later tonight. It was chaos. It was anarchy. It was... realpolitik! :D. But now, only one question remains

Who will win the March 1936 elections?

Will it be the leftist powers of the ABNB, United Socialists? The moderate Liberal Centrists? The Radical Alexists and Haxists? Or will the PCP, bolstered with reinforcements from the Reichsfront, prevail after all? Don't expect an answer, because we have absolutely no idea. After the game update we'll try to write as soon as possible, the elections will be opened, and instructions on how to vote will be put forward.

Some notes:

-Note that from this point on agressive campaigning is forbidden. The campaign period allways runs in the week or two before the elections, after that you are allowed to debate and post small 'vote for us' stuff, but no more massive graphic attacks. The next elections will be March 1938, so from Jan '38 to March '38 will be the next campaigning period.

-We have seen posts where people post pictures of Adolf Hitler to use as propaganda. Note that this is totally unacceptable in every way you can possible conceive and everyone found doing this again will see his party banned, burned and cast into the depths of non-existence. It is a violation of forum rules, Realpolitik rules, and common sence rules.
Just to make clear how we stand on the subject. Remember that we hold the right to ban any party that does not follow the game rules, and that the rules put forward by the Paradox forums are as valid in here as they are in every other AAR. Asides from that, we really hate nazis. Hate em.

-The elections start this evening when we call them off. They will end December 31st, and the new government will take office on the first day of the new year.

-Merry christmas to all!

-Last but not least: Congratulations to all parties for their strong campaigns and politics. Elections shall now decide who comes out on top.

Remember that there is no way to vote before we instruct you how to. Who knows, maybe we have coded some devious device to count votes? ;)

"Erm, Vincent?"
"Yes?"
"I didn't code it"
"What do you mean you didn't code it?"
"Well, I was going to, but, you know... alcohol... drugs... women"
"Son of a b, Laurence, I told you to get it done before going out!"
"Dude, you where there. Germany, remember?"
"Oh right. Yeah, good times, I recall them like it was yesterday..."
"Dude, it WAS yesterday."
"Oh..."
"You know, sometimes I think we'd better lay off the chems."
"Yeah, I get that feeling too sometimes. But then again, we ARE totally random productions!"
"I see what you mean"
*frequent inhaling can be heard*

Another thing, we managed to get a copy of Microsoft office 2009 and we'll be sure to use it's awesome graph functions to make the election results look great :D. Check it out, this is a graph we made in Word and then placed in Photoshop

Woohoo! TRP is back!

When can we start voting?

EDIT: I find it amusing how posts asking if we can vote are coming from right to left...next should be DNVP and LCP, then the Bolsheviks...:p

Voting starts soon as I can post this new update, on which I am working right now. In the meanwhile, go check out the index which Laurence is updating atm, PM us if anything is missing ;)

No, we live and study in our brave little Belgium, but we frequently raid France and Germany when on a holiday :D. We'll be hiking through Northern-France this summer btw, going to pass by Calais and see if we can camp out in a Atlantikwall bunker (they sealed off most of them).

I think current coalitions need to be put somewhere. i think at least another one exists besides Alexists-Haxists one.

Overview of world events and the election campaigns January-March 1936

Good morning gentlemen, and welcome to the Reichstag. Things have been quite hectic the last days due to the intensive campaigning going on, and with the elections starting today we can’t blame anyone for being excited. Still, important events are going on outside of our borders, and it is still my job to report them.

34755635.jpg

Sternberg. A German count that fled the Fatherland in order to go fight the good fight in Mongolia. Dispised by some, praised by some, feared by others. One can say many things about the man’s mental health, but still, it is truth that he has managed to get an iron grip over the Mongolian nation, and is a force to be reckoned with in Central-Asia. Only recently, Sternberg has made a public speech to the Mongolian population that he aims to restore Genghis Khan’s great empire and put an end to, and I quote ‘The decadent Chinese warlords that deny the people their true Mongolian legacy!’. Bold words, but it is still to be seen what he can accomplish in the future.

Our embassy in Moscow is worried, and with reason. After the assasination of Kerensky it appears the Mensheviks have taken control of the country. This, however, was not approved by the Communist fractions in the Duma, who left the Kremlin earlier today vowing to take down their Imperialist government in a communist revolution. Reports have been streaming in from all over the former Tsarist republic that the Bolsheviks are arming for total war, and the Russian army is on the move. Our Mitteleuropean allies have sent all their forces to the border with Russia. Let us just hope this madness does not spill over into Europe.

Which brings me back to our internal politics. Many of you have been campaigning actively the past few months, and our speculants have been so kind as to offer us a short overview.

84450178.jpg

The campaigning started off halfway through January, with the formation of the radical Iron Fist under party leader Alexus, allied to the Haxist NCRP. Both are among the strongest parties in the country, and their rise to power kicked up a lot of dust in the Reichstag

81049317.jpg

In response, the more moderate parties formed a Grand Coalition and began to actively campaign against the unstoppable growth of the Radicals. They were sucessfull by launching a smear campaign linking Radicalism to Syndicalist and other far-left policies, despised by many Germans.

76492275.jpg

What nobody saw coming, happened: The Reichsfront, Germany’s oldest and largest party, was completely crushed by the rise of the Prussian Conservative Party. After losing 95% of it’s members to the PCP, party leader Vesimir gave up hope and disbanded the party, making the PCP a dominant force and favourite for the March elections. Now, Admiral Yamatamoto has rallied his party to the Prussian flag and formed a powerfull coalition, aiming to seize the chair of Chancellor for himself and no other. Will he succeed?

16463703.jpg

In response to the rise of the right-wing PCP, the left itself began a rallying movement, carried forth by the radical German Socialist Alliance and the Communist ABNB. In the power struggle between left and right, the center saw itself forced to reorganise and soon, some of Germany’s strongest parties merged into the Liberal Center Party, a second all-time favourite for the elections.

11722880.jpg

And that is the situation right now. The Reichstag has become a frontline in the parties’ debate over the role of the military, our claim on Austria, social reforms and many more. For now, many speculants believe the election will turn out favourable for Admiral Yamatamoto, the German Nationalists and the Liberal Central Party, but all is still possible. Whoever assumes the seat of Chancellor awaits no easy task: Many troubles lie ahead in the future.

Three days ago the Berlin Stock Market crashed completely, leaving economic havoc in it’s wake. As we speak, hundreds of factories are shutting down, workers are being fired and our economic system is collapsing. It is not yet clear what the depth of this crisis is, but it will undoubtedly be a mayor challenge for the next government.

The world stage is moving. In Asia, the Ottoman Empire has begun a remilitarisation campaign of unseen proportions. The Arab states are baffled as the country known as ‘The terminally ill man of Europe’ jumps out of economic recession in the blink of an eye, and begins to rearm it’s militaries, reclaiming the lost Ottoman lands. In Asia, the German-friendly Qing Empire has also begun their Great Reformation. Both states could be possible allies, or mortal enemies to the German Empire, and the parties are divided. Who knows what the future will bring?

In Asia, the Chinese protests continue to grow in size, and oure local embassies fear the situation is on the verge of escalating. Still, the corporate government of the AoA claims the situation is under control, but after the burning of their head-office by local rebels, less and less believe this claim.

30981952.jpg

The Syndicalist state of France will organise the Third International soon, a prestiguous meeting of leftists and Syndicalists from all over the world. This is an event that has upset many of our businessmen, as France and it’s Syndicalist allies aim for a worldwide revolution, and are known to have been secretly funding the German Socialist Alliance and the ABNB.

-------

I have nothing more to share, gentlemen. In a few hours, the election offices open for duty, and millions of Germans have been called to vote for the future of Germany. To all party leaders present today: Good luck, god speed, and I hope to welcome one of you as Chancellor soon.

By the power vested in me by the German Empire and the Kaiser, I hereby declare the 1936 Reichstag elections OPENED!

Basic election rules

to reiterate

- Every person registered on the Paradox forums has two votes. Everyone can only vote once for a single party. Party members are encouraged, but not obliged, to follow the election strategy of their party leader.

- The election will run from Dec 27th untill +- the (European) evening of Dec 31st 2009. The new government will take office Jan 1st. Votes after closing will not be counted.

- After closing, we will count all votes and put the results into an election update. Shortly before this update is posted the party leader of the party with the most votes will be informed by us through PM with information of what we expect of them

- We also agreed to drop the Triumvirate rule for a free-form government rule. This means that the winning coalition no longer has to push forward no more than three candidates for fixed positions, but is allowed to form it's own government of any size of choice, with a maximum of eight people. It is fully at discretion of the winning coalition to create and divide the posts. We do expect to see a Vice-Chancellor (or Prime Minister, whatever you call it) that can rule in absence of the Chancellor.

- There will be no bribing, no revolutions, assasinations or uprisings. We (TRP) will automatically veto any act that intends to destabilise the elections. Rule 1 of realpolitik: Democracy is absolute

- During elections we will not allow intensive graphic campaigns. A small text propaganda message, however, is allowed.
