More like DECONSTRUCTION.

YEAH.

More like DESTRUCTION.

I oppose Muller-plan.
It sucks.
The blood of our fathers was spoilt in the Great War to gain defend the Vaterland, and now some silly old politicians are to divide the Empire of our Ancestors because they think it is morally the right thing to do?
Colonies are colonies and Mittelafrika must stand strong.

If the opposition continues to simply rant and rave, I suggest we ignore them like we would any street lunatic, seeing as we can't institutionalize them. There is nothing left to say in this circular logic debate, it is needlessly using the time of the government that could be spent forumlating plans.

The Social Ministry announce the raise of salaries for teachers, doctors and nurses working for the state.

Raising the salary of teachers and doctors/ nurses working for the State
-realizing that these people doing important work for the education of our youth or caring for our sick
-understanding that state employees with low salaries have a harsh time in this economic climate
-fearing the impact on society if these groups turn to Syndicalism
-raising salaries for all teachers, nurses and doctors employed by the government by 11%.

a reminder

ACA's 2010 Q1

Hey guys, The Swert just announced the new ACA's. If anyone wants to go and vote for one of our projects, here's a small reminder of what we do and into which category it falls

For Realpolitik, we would like to request a new category called interactive AAR, but in absence of that just vote Realpolitik for HOI2 Gameplay, it seems the most fitting.

Also, we urge you to vote the recently finished Democracy's Last Legs for HOI2 for best HOI2 Narrative!

And The Swert is really looking for a lot of voters this time round, so drop by and fill in as much of the ballots as you can!

(We retain the right to repeat this message a few times in this thread, because we just know you guys are going to bury it under a pile of replies when the gameplay resumes ;) )

Regards,
-Vincent and Laurence, Totally Random Productions

But you haven't answered any concerns, for example loss of National Prestige, the fact that we need to retain colonies for continued resource extraction. While you have proven that Mittelafrika did lose money and does need reform, that does not justify Decolonization.

To my brothers in the NUP look at what this coalition is doing to German interests, unite with the defenders of German land and interests.

I've stated many times that steps are taken to ensure these new governments maintain top notch relations with us. If we can't work out favorable trade deals in such a situation we have bigger problems then resources ;)

Sure they would promise to. Look at Goering, he was able to completely screw over the Fatherland because we gave him so much Autonomy... and now you want even more Autonomy for the colonies?

These will be democratic government (and yes, the same monitors are in place to ensure that, and weed out corruption), that will have no real motive to do so.

Unless, of course, they look to National France or even worse, the Commune of France. The problem is that through decolonization we open up our colonies for such a possibility.

We must never surrender German land. This is exactly what the Muller Plan does.

Remember that Avatar Federal has his own party aswell, the National Socialist Deutsches Reichspartei. If you are a militarist and pangermanist, join his cause!

More stuff has been added to the index. There will be a special update by us, an interview with the Chancellor by Die Realpolitik Zeit.

Also, are there people opposed to Delex his democracy system? His group strenght seems to have stalled for now, and we would need an opposing group who want to continue the current system ('realpolitik traditionalists'?) so we can measure what the readership wants.

They won't do this ;) For one, by the time this comes to fruitation, the syndicalist threat will have passed. We're talking about three decades from now, or in that neighborhood. Nationalist France can't sustain itself that long either.

TRP, I, for one, do not like the democratic system. A government is elected every 2 years and then it runs the country. Simple as that. In almost any country, baring a major political crisis, after a government takes place it is up to the government to chose and implement policies. The opposition can only complain. Then, elections are held again and it all starts over.

I feel that if we had to take a vote on every issue that comes up before us we would take forever to play. Say 2-4 days for a vote, half a dozen votes for every month of gameplay, you do the math.

Now, if there is a major disagreement in the government its up to the government to mend it. If it becomes severe and a party decides to leave the government then we are in trouble and might need new elections or something. But as long as everyone in government agrees, and the government holds more than half the votes, why bother with what should be a purely procedural excersize?

To make an observation, the very indepth and interesting debate of yesterday has this afternoon largely degenerated to in-character name-calling and repetitive slogans. This is exactly the sort of behaviour that is a tiny fraction of an inch away from being spam. In real life such discussions of this nature are both boring and counter-productive, they are the same here.

What you describe here is how democracy works in the USA. Where the president, once elected, can pretty much do anything as long the congress approves him the founds (And money plays no major role in HOI2) to do it.

What I'm trying to achive is European democracy.

In the UK, once a party wins an election it rules at will. I believe Blair, for example, only lost 2 votes in his 10 years as PM. Same in almost every other European country. An exception would be a minority government, which still has huge leverage to do what it wants, but the rest of the parties have an easier time forcing a new election if they want. Perhaps you can give me a counter-example, but I feel that what you are trying to achieve hasn't existed since ancient Athens.

To be honest, in most European countries a coalition is formed, which has a mojority in parliament. At least in the Netherlands, the parties in a coalition rarely vote against the government. This prevents the government being paralyzed by parliamen.

However the Realpolitik minister of the Interior is preparing a proposal bringing more influence to the Reichstag.

I feel also that it is important to point out that if the Prime Minister is defeated on a proposal it is almost always because members of HIS GOVERNMENT didn't like it - what would be simulated here by the Cabinet having to agree on proposals. Formal votes in parliament are almost always nothing more than a final procedural step.
