Why is it that Paradox does not keep up with the latest patches for their version of CMSF?

Paradox Interactive has stopped further support for the retail version of Combat Mission Shock Force (including the Paradox retail version as well as the Gamersgate version) since December 2009. This means Paradox will not release any further patches for this game.
But in an effort to not leave fans of the game by the wayside and miss the upcoming further additions and improvements for the series, Battlefront has decided to support the Paradox version owners further.
You can buy the special 1.21 Paradox patch for 1 US dollar at the Battlefront website. This special v1.21 upgrade "converts" your Paradox retail game version of CMSF into a "Battlefront version". If you buy a CMSF expansion module from Battlefront you don't need the special 1.21 Paradox patch, a CMSF expansion module will upgrade Combat Mission Shock Force to the most recent 1.31 version.
