I think I will try to play my next HTTT game with your mod, althought it will probably not be before next week. But I don't know if it will work. After all, there weren't any heirs in IN.

It works. You get a new king, who wasn't an heir. The old heir stays.

I may, though, redo these guys as just generals. I don't think it's reasonable that Wellington & Blucher can be active in 1815, but Napoleon can't, only because he was Emperor. It also feels funny to think of "generals" Henry V & Frederick the Great, who aren't kings, which is why I did it the way I did. But maybe it'd be better otherwise.

Prior to using this mod I'd started always recruiting one admiral, and one general so for my internal monologue role playing when playing EU3 I'd always have a head of army and navy. So I've been reallying enjoying the leaders aspect. I also played an Ottoman game + historic monarchs and had great fun till Austria overran balkans with 6 shock with better tech, me with barely 2 or 3 shock generals.

Can't wait for HTTT of the main mod to try it out.

It's a long slow process. I worked out the main mod in 3.2, & now am going, folder-by-folder through the HT conversion.

Plus there's the problem of combat. That's going to take a lot of testing.

One question, to all who've tried this: Who thinks it'd be better to treat monarch-generals as simply generals. This would entail them arriving & being treated just like any other general, not affecting the game's monarch generation.

Any comments?

Also, any errors I need to fix?

The 1st HT version is up. It is not tested, but simply an adaptation of the IN version to HT.

If anyone tries it, please let me know how it works, & especially, what is wrong.

The defines.txt lacks the bolded line with respect to the latest beta patch (problem WWM had to)

Sorry, I missed a few latin = western changes. And I wasn't using the latest defines.

Both should be fixed. Get rid of your old version, & try the new one.

When I said untested, I meant it. Literally.

Now, I'm finding that the advisor screen is completely messed up. I had rearranged them alphabetically. Perhaps that was the problem.

Nope. Check the CTD thread. Several of the real experts have been trying to help. 17blue17 had DL'd it, I know.

My current (a bit cut back) game is now 21 years in, with not CTD so far. But then, I've gone 50 before.

HT Lite is now available (in the 1st thread).

I am 95% sure this is (a) stable, & (b) compatible with the 3/27 patch. Of course, that is after only today's testing.

HT Lite version posted. It appears to be stable, at least, it ran 100 years twice, with no CTD's.

I am pretty close to finishing a new version of the Historical Leaders minimod, plus the exploration features as an option.

If anyone who's looked at the older versions has any comments, I'd appreciate them, & if anyone would like to test it, contact me.

Is anyone using any of these? If so, does anyone feel I should add some updates from RM? Specifically, the biggest change is that tag changes (eg, ENG to GBR) no longer keep you from getting a leader in RM. Thus Magellan will still show up whether you're CAS or SPA.

Well, in the RM mod, as I've said, I've worked it so most forming nations can get their leaders, no matter which nation is in play. Thus, Drake, Marlborough, and Nelson will show up for either ENG or GBR.

I've also redone the monarchs who were also leaders, so that they are just generals. But they won't appear if they, or their fathers/mothers, are on the throne.

Those by far the biggest changes. The others are:

(a) Corrected start dates for RN admirals.
(b) Added a few, mostly RN, admirals. (The game does not include St Vincent, for God's sake). Added both Pocock & D'Ache.
(c) Changed a very few values.

Now, in RM, you don't actually get ALL your leaders, for performance reasons. It's based on a balance of longevity, leader quality, & the # of that type for the country/generation. But I could easily put them back in.

If you like, I can easily redo it. But I really got the impression no one was using them. That's why I'm asking about updates.

My guess is that I might update the Ultra-Light (leader only) versions, & probably take down GRIN HT, unless someone wants to use it.

I would like to have all the historical leader that I can!! (is there a way to get around the limitations of the historical options with historical monarch too??) I'm using RM, does it work with the patch 4.1b?
