Today I see all the lists which nelsonlee done in 2010. However, there aren't cities of India, central and western Siberia, central Asia, Iran, Middle East and Africa. I promise if anyone make that lists or post here maps of the areas in the period 330-762 I will finish the map in 2015.

For inner Africa I could write for all provinces "Hic sunt leones", but I think there were cities in Niger. For Siberia is enough write peoples that lived there!

Please help me! I want to finish the map!

I continue the map in these days...

I need necessarly to finish the map at least all capital of the country of Far East between 330 AD and X century AD.

Please, help me, because I do not found some capital.
In the follow list, which is an example, there are the ancient name, the actual name and the name of capital. I need also the source link (Wikipedia for example).

- China
  • Ch'ieh-mo Qiemo Kingdom of Qiemo
  • Chuoqiang To south east of Loulan Tribe
  • Gumo Aksu Kingdom of Gumo
  • Jiaohe 16 km at ovest of Turpan Kingdom of Jushi, until 450 AD
  • Loulan Loulan Kingdom of Loulan
  • Quici Kuqa Kingdom of Kucha
  • Shule Kashgar Kingdom of Shule
  • Suoju Yarkand Kingdom of Suoju
  • Yutian Hotan Kingdom of Khotan
So, I don't need all cities (I already have them), but only the capital of of each contry.

I don't finish SGLv100 until I will have all capitals...

Thanks in advance!

I usually use this "trick". First I search for the English version of it. If wikipedia has a different language version, than I check it out with google translate. If not, than I copy the foreign name of the search material (if it is a Chinese ruler, than the Chinese characters) and search for it with that. If I found something, than google translate and it is done. (Usually this is enough. If not, than I search in books, but that it is quite tiresome.)
So with this Kingdom of Khotan has Wada as his capital https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/于阗 (Wada is the old name of the city of Hotan)
Kingdom of Suojo had Shache as capital https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/莎车国
Kingdom of Shule has Kashgar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shule_Kingdom
Kingdom of Kucha as I understand had Kucha as capital https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/龟兹
Kingdom of Loulan would've had Loulan https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/楼兰
Kingdom of Jushi had its capital probably in Jiaohegucheng https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/车师
Kingdom of Gumo is hard to decide. I would go with Wensu according to this https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/阿克苏市 since if the Quing re-established the old city there, and the city name was Wensu.
Chuoqiang To had maybe Lanzhou. I'm not sure. They controlled the area in which Lanzhou was at that time the leading city. (Although its name was Golden City, but I don't know the Chinese version.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanzhou (The Chinese version of Chuoqjang mentioned Gansu. What they meant by that, I don't know. I could be the old name of Lanzhou, or the name of the territory.
Kingdom of Quiemo had maybe Cherchen. https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Черчен this time the Russian wiki helped. So if Quiemo was their name, and the road too, than their capital could be that as well, although the Uighur version name Cherchen is probably better.

Thanks!!!!

I didn't found where is the ancient name Wada with Google translate. Please give me the source text where it is wrote it in Chinese Language and it translated.
I found Khotan in Tang period dinasty was known as Yutian:

From the Han dynasty until at least the Tang dynasty it was known in Chinese as Yutian (Chinese: 于闐, 于窴, or 於闐).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Khotan

Kingdom of Suojo had Shache as capital https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/莎车国
I found only Kingdom of Shache, not Kingdom of Suojo.

Translated with Google translate, from Chinese to English:
Shache, the ancient Western oasis country - Shache Kingdom.

I think Suoju was the ancient name of Yarkand:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yarkant_County

I think that ancient name was Shule:

Non-native names for the city, such as the old Chinese name Shule 疏勒 and Tibetan Śu-lig may have originated as an attempts to transcribe the Sanskrit name for Kashgar, Śrīkrīrāti ("fortunate hospitality").[9]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashgar

Kingdom of Kucha as I understand had Kucha as capital https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/龟兹
I found Quici as ancient name:

Kizi : Kuci : Kuci (na) , Uygur : Küsen , the first 272 -14 century), also known as Qu first , Qiu Ci Qiu Ci , Qizhi , Qiuzi , arrest Yi , Guizi , Quiz , is the ancient Western oasis country. 648年唐设安西大都护府于龟兹, 安西四镇之一。 648 years Tang Anxi most of the care in the town of Qiuci, Anxi four towns .

Kingdom of Loulan would've had Loulan https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/楼兰
Perfect.

Kingdom of Jushi had its capital probably in Jiaohegucheng https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/车师
I didn't found this name.

Kingdom of Gumo is hard to decide. I would go with Wensu according to this https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/阿克苏市 since if the Quing re-established the old city there, and the city name was Wensu.
In italian Wikipedia there is ancient name Gumo:

Dalla dinastia Han (125 a.C. - 23 d.C.) all'inizio della dinastia Tang (618-907), Aksu era nota come Gumo 姑墨 [Ku-mo].

https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aksu_(Cina)

Probably no.

After the fall of the Han dynasty, Lanzhou became the capital of a succession of tribal states. In the 4th century it was briefly the capital of the independent state of Liang.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanzhou#History

I think that the name was Ch'ieh-mo.

The seat of the government is the town of Ch'ieh-mo

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qiemo_Town

Thanks for your research and thanks in advance for the other researches you will do.

I don't understand why Wada and Jiaohegucheng don't be traslated with Google translate from Chinese to English, so please give me source texts and your translated text because I need to do a good work with the map. When I will add SGLv100 in internet, I would be sure that all contries could be stay in the map.
If you continue to help me like Yesterday, map could be done in two or three years, but you must continue to help me. Right? Thanks in advance!!!! Now please give me other capitals lists with ancient name, actual name, the Kingdom of the town, source text, translated text (if it's not in English) and source link, because I would like to control them.

Please help me!

So I clicked on Wada to see what it means and it dropped this: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/和田
So according to this, Wada is referring to the city of Hotan, but I'm just guessing.

I searched for Suoju Yarkand and it dropped me regular Yarkand. I could be on a wrong track, but they are writing: suojo (Yarkand) so it should have been in Yarkand territory.

In Jushi it writes in stupid English: Capital to cross River.
So I clicked on cross River to see what the hell it is and it brought me to the page: Jiaohegucheng

Aside from the map, did you make any event or shields for the nations? Can I ask for you to include pictures in the events, if you make some? It looks way better with pictures.

1. My source link call Khotan as Yutian so I add it with the name of Yutian.
2. Perfect
3. Could you give me source text in Chinese and it translated in English? Maybe Google translate doesn't work in the same way.

Anyway excellent work! Please continue it with other countries and then I control your source link and possibly source text.

I would like to finish before the map. Then I will publish SGLv100 and the next versions will have events, shields, monarchs, leaders...

In SGLv100 will be all countries of that period only in the relative province of each capital. Then, in the next version, you can will add other features.

So let's start it.

Shan (Mohan) and Huhu (Guhu) were both near the modern day city Turfan. There is no precise name for their capital, so I would add their geographical position for their capital.
Huhu was located in the valley of Cheshiliu, so they should have Cheshiliu as capital.
Shan was located in the area of Mt. Kuluk so Kuluk.
Shache (Yarkant) was located in modern Sache, so Sache.
Shule had Shule as capital it is mentioned in your link.
Yanqi had Yuanqu as capital.
Weixu had Quhui.
Weili (Korla) was in the region of Karakum, so it could be the capital.
Quli had Korla as capital according to this: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/库尔勒市
Wulei (Yengisar) probably had Luntai as capital. Not the modern day one, a different one, since according to this: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/轮台县 there were two of them.
Quici had Yancheng
Gumo had Nancheng
Wensu was in the modern day Wensu territory, so it could be Wensu.
Weitou was near the modern day Us and Aheqi so either could be good as capital name.
Cheshi is actually two country according to your link. Fore Cheshi with Jiaohe as capital and Rear Cheshi wich was in Wutu Valley, so maybe Wutu as capital.
Jie was near the modern day Changji city, but according to this: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/昌吉市 Changji city is there since ancient times, so Jie could have Changji.
Quiemi was also technically two country. Western Quiemi and Eastern Quiemi. The first one was in the modern Fukang and the letter in the valley of Duixo, so those two.
Beilu capital Qiandang.
Yizhi is in the modern day Balikun, so that.
Pulei was in the valley of Shuyu.
Danhuan could have Ürümchi. Since it was in that part, and Ürümchi is an ancient town.
Yulishi well it was in modern Jimsar which had an ancient city https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/吉木萨尔县 with a name something like Fu fang (according to google translator.)
Wutanzili was in the valley of Yulei. (If geographical names does not fit, than you could use their country name as capital, since most of these were city-states.)
Pishan was in modern day Pishan (I think this could be also good as city name.)
Xiye was in the valley of Hujian. Zihe later breaks away from it, but I have no idea how that should be called.
Puli with capital Shitoucheng.
Yinai was near the modern day Yinggišahr. (I have no idea about this.)
Deruo (no idea)
Wulei had as capital Lucheng
Nandou (no idea)
Wutuo was in the mountains of Badak.
Juandu capital was in the valley of Yandun.
Xiuxun was in the valley of Alai.
Taohuai also in the valley of Alai, so maybe the country name would be good for them.
Jibin had its capital in Kabul. (I think the "modern" name Kabul would fit.)
Wuyishanli probably had its capital in Herat.
Loulan (we talked about it)
Shanshan had Yuni
Ruoqiang could have Ruoqiang
Qiemo capital city was located on the upper course of River Čerčen (so maybe Cercen)
Xiaowan had Yuling
Jingjue maybe had its capital in the ruins of Niya (so Niya)
Ronglu had Bipin
Yumi had Kaladun
Qule was in the territory of Keriya river
Yutian according to your link had the city of Yutian as capital.

If I wrote something earlier sorry.

(I think those nations which had Uighur, Turkic etc. names should be called that and not in their Chinese name, since they were not Chinese. I wrote the Chinese names first to make it easier, but you should consider switching to the original ones.)
